YellowRoad 0 Posted July 29, 2007 News from the dutch Press and Ceefax:Despite the 1 - 2 loss against Falkirk in Scotland AJAX manager Henk ten Cate has decided to keep Jurgen Colin at AJAX and offer him an one year contract with an option for a second year.Manager Henk ten Cate believes that Jurgen Colin is a solid good defender who doesn''t make many mistakes (like Andy Hughes !).They now have to negotiate with both Jurgen Colin and and Norwich City. JuanVelasco 27 Posted July 29, 2007 He looks set to sign a one year deal with Ajax, what are your thoughts? Underachiever? Over-rated? Unsuited to the English game? I remember seeing him in his home debut against Inter Milan where he had an immense debut, what went wrong? He looked to have the ability to overlap and attack teams yet always stayed back.... maybe he was told to do this?
Lonnie Lynn (Common) 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Not the Championshop but the Champions League. Good on him.
Lonnie Lynn (Common) 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Simple as this... Technically TOO good for Norwich. good luck mate
Branston Pickle 4,169 Posted July 29, 2007 Seems fair enough - he never really made the position his own, and PG clearly didn''t rate him what with Hughes playing in preference; now we have Otsemobor he''s certain to be down the pecking order. No figures mentioned but presumably we''d get a few hundred £k? Would rather like to get Hassell from Barnsley as replacement, if we decide that we need one. Iwan is God 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Simply not suited to the English game IMHO. I was too expecting much better things from him after his debut.
Gingerpele 0 Posted July 29, 2007 how much we get for him?

Pyro Pete 2,395 Posted July 29, 2007 Good for Jurgen. He is a tidy player, with good technical ability. But for me, he never really got involved in games enough. If our management can''t get him to perform to the desired level, then there is little point him staying on. However, that does raise the question of whether our management are doing their job properly.
Old Boy 0 Posted July 29, 2007 I''m sure he''ll only be a bench-warmer at Ajax, but even so I''m sorry that he''s going - he''s much better than Hughes ar right-back. I reckon he had an "attitude problem", and in truth never seemed fully at home here.
Show Me What You Gooot! 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Alot of us seem to be saying hes unsuited to the English game - Lets just pray Dave The Striker isn''t the same.
burn down the ipswich 0 Posted July 29, 2007 i jus think he was homesick to start with, wasnt suited to the english game and he never settled in. good luck to him.

I can tell you all with some authority that he is the fastest player in the City sqad. Yes, on the sprint tests that the players do he wins. He has great potential going forward which has never really been used. I have been a Grant supporter but he does not realise what he has got with this guy and this shows a lack of judgement on his part. To play Hughes in place of Colin is a total joke. We cannot afford to lose people like this, for me this is the first glimpse of Peter Grant not knowing what he is doing!THIS IS A TOP CLASS PLAYER. AJAX HAVE SPENT TIME LOOKING AT HIM AND CAN SEE WHAT WE IGNORED. WE HAVE LOST ERNIE ON THE CHEAP, DONT LET JUGEN GO AS WELL.....PG WHAT ARE YOU DOING????????????? Red Canary 0 Posted July 29, 2007 This is really good news! We are getting rid of one of worthys underachivers and getting money for him as well! And another good think is that this means PG has to buy a defender!!!
Show Me What You Gooot! 0 Posted July 29, 2007 Well he has to buy TWO now really

He settled fine, he didn''t miss NL I can assure you.
Ark 0 Posted July 29, 2007 AJAX RAID NORWICH RESERVES FOR DEFENSIVE TALENTAn April 1st headline in mid-July... But SO ridiculous that it could only be true!
Bigmarkcanary 0 Posted July 30, 2007
Well he has to buy TWO now really
I would say THREE, for the simple reason that Drury has got far too comfy and complacent, due to lack of genuine competition! Best of luck to you though Jurgen and I hope all things work out better, for you and your family, in your homeland [:)]
Tom NCFC 0 Posted July 30, 2007 I guarantee you he''ll be at the likes of NAC Breda or FC Groningen in 2 years time!
ZLF 342 Posted July 30, 2007 I wish him well; he had improved significantly and one of only 2/3 players who was doing OK when ludicrously dropped in preference for the high energy but more ineffective Hughes.
Shack Attack 0 Posted July 30, 2007
He was S***.
So s**t that a team who will be competing in the Champions League next season want to buy him!?
Citizen Journalist Foghorn 0 Posted July 30, 2007 He was very poor in his first season and improved slightly last year. His cause has not been helped by playing next to the shaky Doherty, and during his first season having the manager seemingly on his case at all times.Grant doesnt seem to rate him if the awful Hughes is getting picked ahead of him so its best he leaves. FilletTheFishWife . 0 Posted July 30, 2007 Jurgen couldn''t attack and worse...he couldn''t defend either.Quite frankly, he was the worst right-back i''ve seen at the club since Brian McGovern. The fact that PG preferred Hughes (and I agree) says it all.
chicken 0 Posted July 30, 2007 I don''t think that is true. Brain McGovern at right back? McGovern was a centreback. The players ability especially technicaly were above that of many players at Norwich, I shall be sad to see him go but a players best performances can only come when he is happy. If Colin was never happy here then obviously we never saw his best form.
