Jeepers, England defend like Norwich! Pickford is absolutely pants as a keeper, how can he be regarded as our number 1.

Probably as their really are not many other good choices.

Issue with all the top clubs playing hardly any English players

Hang on - are you saying it's not all the fault of [checks notes] England's most successful coach in 60 years? Huge if true.

Nope. I say Southgate's got his team there despite such an imbalanced squad. He's had luck along the way with favourable draws and key players being out for opposition (especially WC 2018 in Russia in the earlier KO stages) but he's never really had much quality in defence to work with. Hence his cautious set-ups.

The old boy who plays in goal for our walking footy team is better and he’s 60!

The positive from these 2 games is going in I thought we had a 5-10% chance of winning the Euros in spite of the manager, that's now at zero so I can enjoy the summer without the stress of any kind of thoughts that we might actually win it 👍

And most of that Belgium team plays in the EPL. England will never win a major until there is more incentive to support homegrown players.

Should be a minimum homegrown rule reintroduced now we’re out of the EU!

This Belguim kit is one of the ugliest I have seen for a while.. Who thought a cyan top with brown shorts was a good idea?

Huh? I think it's possibly the best international kit in world football right now, absolutely love it 😃

Possibly then that English players aren't as good as all the hype suggests ..... or, alternatively, they don't get the opportunity at an early age as it is easier and cheaper to buy from abroad. You only have to look at how many Englishmen play for Norwich to see how it applies throughout the leagues, not just the premiership.

Maddison and Palmer might as well **** off home, that clown is clearly not interested in them.

Mainoo's making a claim here. Going to say it again though, England do not have a defence of proper international calibre to really consistently hang against the best.

Mainoo had a good game, not understanding why Rico Lewis isn't getting minutes? Especially as Chilwell has been awful over the 2 games.

Mainoo has played well. Remarkable for an 18 Yr old.

Endrick just come on for Brazil and scored a lovely goal (18 Yr old) . Spain have a 16 year old playing a good game

Thought we were good other than the errors for the goals. Our attacking and midfield options are frightening. Mainoo and Toney both huge positives from tonight. The latter now Kane replacement if he gets injured.

the worry remains the defence. They all have errors in them. We may have to just accept that and back ourselves to out score sides.

Really dont think Bellingham should be playing in the no.10 role, we have better options there.

Unlike Real Madrid , England's needs for him are different. We need him as a box to box no.8 , running to whole game, not just trying to operate around the final third

That’s really interesting, I will happily stand corrected, but in 60 internationals statistically as I understand it, that is the first mistake Pickford has made, that has led to a goal being scored against us.

Seriously what club would want Southgate as their next manager?

Manchester United if the latest reports are to be believed.
