CDM ?

Wagner doesn’t like them as he prefers to ship loads of goals and shove midfielders in defence and up top.

There's probably more chance of pigs flying, but maybe, just maybe Sorenson can get fit and stay fit and have an extended run in his supposed best position. We've had very limited evidence to judge on so far, but what little we've seen of him playing there suggests that he should do a reasonable job at Championship level.

There's a Danish bacon gag in there somewhere but like those pigs, they seem to be going over my head. I still want to see a Lungi and Forshaw double-pivot but accept there is probably more chance of Rishi Sunak and Suella Braverman releasing a sex tape.

Why?

It was a joke, to suggest creating such a mental image was unforgivable. I reckon @TheGunnShow will have realised, but will edit to make clear.

Ah yes, lets get in another player who is told not to mark. Stay away from the opposition, and give them time on the ball. When different commentators and his sidekick are pointing this out regularly, then it should not take much to grasp where the problem lies - and that is not getting some supposed specialist player in.

As soon as we get the ball, our players are closed down (marked), whereas we just shuffle around the middle of the pitch hoping that the opposition will give up possession through some fair share of possession delusion. As long as we continue this absurd tactic we will continue to ship goals.

Lets hope that he's back soon and has an extended streak in the team.

Now that’s funny, did you write for Gary Wilmot?

It seems so obvious we need a CDM desperately. Let Sara get up the field and give us the position we've lacked for years.

Can Knapper find one on loan?

Absolutely agree, but we've needed one since Skipp went back to Spurs and Tettey retired so I wouldn't hold your breath!

What a great suggestion.

Im hoping we dont see Sorenson back in the first team again. For me him, Hernadez and PP need to be shipped out and replaced at some stage in a squad refresh.

Have to agree - 4th season with us and he has made very little impact.

When he's been fit he has never been able to get in the team in the middle and that's under 3 different managers

Ben Godfrey on loan anybody? 🙂
I know,  the wedge Everton would want, given their ffp come uppance,  would be off the scale, unless perhaps there's a full-on fire sale, but a nice thought. Btw Talksh*te allegation has Spurs maybes in for him in the window - if true anyone got a handle on terms of any add-ons in our deal? Can't believe there'd be much if any of a mark-up, but possibly a percentage of any sell-on ???  Anyway, If he's been on Spurs radar Knapper should have the inside track and re add-ons Webber did cut some very good deals for us as well as those bad 'uns.

We have one in Lima, who was meant to be readying himself for the first team.

TBH i am not sure how he has settled and has been playing a lot of development football. I suspect he may of been earmarked to help in 24' after a period of settling, but seeing as he is on loan, we should have formed a fair idea of him by now. Was highly regarded by his last set of fans..

This is received wisdom amongst a section of the fanbase. The game has moved on and this simplistic view really doesn't reflect how it is played anymore. Read Ben Mee's match analysis to learn about what is going on. We have tactical issues when OOP but that is nor necessarily manpower related.

Odd starting choices and playing people out of position doesnt help, however he seems to be getting results by the skin of his teeth currently. I am hoping Sainz becomes more involved in the next two games and we can start playing players in their traditional positions especially with players returning around xmas time.

We get results because strangely we are one of the better teams in the division. Not as good as the three who came down or it seems one other unmentionable team but still better than most. Mystery why Sainz doesn't start more, maybe due to a lack of defensive dilgence. The CBs couldn't pass the salt and we have tactical problems OOP but we are what we are. Average.

I would say Sainz is the closest thing we will get to Buendia style in a while. He chases back a lot more than the likes of Hernadez & co. I suspect they are breaking him in gently and he did look way off fitness wise not long ago.

I'm not sure I agree on this. Arsenal now went out and spent £100m on this exact type of player, not to mention numerous other examples of a number 6 in top clubs.
