hogesar 9,722 Posted October 9, 2023 From the outside looking in, looks a terrible decision. Turns out, from the inside looking in they also think it's a terrible decision purely based around the owners desperation to stay in the spotlight and make a "feature" management appointment in Wayne Rooney... Be careful what you wish for etc etc

keelansgrandad 6,679 Posted October 9, 2023 (edited) No fear football? Good luck with that. Eustace has them above us from nearly relegated and they are desperate for a marquee manager. Edited October 9, 2023 by keelansgrandad

Christoph Stiepermann 1,139 Posted October 9, 2023 (edited) They did the same thing with Rowett and Zola a few years ago and it went predictably horrible for them. It's not just about upgrading a manager or going for broke, it's the effect on a group of players that sacking a manager they respect will have on them. Typically when managers who are liked by their group of players and are obviously unfairly sacked it doesn't usually go well for their 'bigger name' replacement. The bizarre thing is that it's a brand new ownership group now, and one that up until this point has been sensible in every move they've made. I wonder if Eustace will take the Rangers job now.
