Where Are All the Offers?

Recommended Posts

I can’t see why any EPL club would want to sign Aarons or Omo being brutally honest. And if there was any interest, no one is paying more than £5 million for each.

I’m sure Webber was being economical with the truth regarding the ‘bid’ received for Omo in January. No way we’d have rejected an offer of the size suggested.

Anyway, I can see one of the three relegated EPL clubs coming in for Aarons. Each would be a good fit for him too. Farke would take him for sure.

Um, "offers" are plural.

Aarons to Leeds did cross my mind after the arrival of Farke but I imagine Aaron's has his sights set a bit higher than that. I do think we should have perhaps considered selling whilst the fire was hot on both players, advertising them out to the world now seems like a bit of an odd transfer strategy to me

I'm not sure selling Omo now would be much of a benefit. Replacing him like for like (and we'd need to) would cost a good proportion of any transfer fee. All the freebies gave been gobbled up and we've got one of them. To wrench an experienced defender, already under contract won't be cheap.

The injury to Hanley was a game changer. The injury to Tomkinson is highly inconvenient and loaning out Hills suggests to me Omo is staying.

We'll probably get and accept an offer today now I've said that!

If £20M+ is slapped on the table in front of Webber's yes, the boy will be gone. It matters not a joy about injuries to other centre halves or players on loan.

The other truth is that Delia is not even a responsible cook. Serving up food that is high in saturated fat and high in sugar places an intolerable burden on the NHS in terms of the plethora of adverse health conditions these ingredients cause. Delia has thus made herself a major contributor to the National Debt, currently standing at £2.6 tn.

This your best one ever, you should retire now, you're never going to post anything more bonkers than this.

It is, but I was writing about the word, not using it, if that makes sense.

In this sentence:  “The word ‘offers’ is plural” is grammatically correct because I am talking about one word (even if that word happens to be plural). But if I use the word ‘offers’ in a sentence, like “the offers are too low” I would use the plural.

Aarons is clearly no good that’s why he’s been playing for England under 21s. Anyone would think you were a complete moron ( or a scummer)

I would respectfully point out there is a world of difference between league football and boys' football. In the unforgiving league format, the boy has struggled. Even at his best, he was never a defender.

She does however pay taxes regularly and on time as does Norwich City. These contribute to the Exchequer and help to bring down the National Debt. Other clubs have not been so careful with their finances and have even ripped of small local businesses and the St, Johns ambulance-There’s a club like that not too far south!

But the National Debt isn't coming down and never will so long as we have these red and blue socialist governments.

Tee-Hee.

Of course we'd be better off with MA and the land of privatised everything. Only 32tn debt there and a complete lack of care for anyone that can't pay.

Maybe we'd be better off with a rich Arab after all Vincey!!

It is only right and proper that people who don't pay don't get any care. If they were more responsible they would have the money, but no, just like that Norfolk lotto lout, they go and squander it all on drugs, fags, booze, bling, tattoos, hookers, fast cars, designer this, designer that, jewellery, makeup, fake tans and anything else that could be associated with a debauched lifestyle.

This country is ****ed, well and truly ****ed, way way more important than what is happening at NCFC, so thanks for reminding us that we should be much more worried about the fact the current Government is absolutely useless and wouldn't know the truth if it kicked them in the ****, rather than what is or is not happening at NCFC which is a mere bagatelle in the grand scheme of things. Your work is done here, no need to post anything else, so off you pop to put your feet up................

And they just wasted the rest of their money...........

What is true is that this close season has been an unmitigated disaster so far:

we are going to hell in a hand cart as things stand.

we will look on last season with fondness by the end of this upcoming season

mark my words I am never ever wrong

We were the only Premier League Club to take the Government's Covid support money albeit that it is clear that a couple of other Clubs had more modest wage bills than us. Both of them were in the automatic promotion places last season still with more modest wage bills than us.

Are you talking about the Government Job Retention Scheme?, if so I am given to understand that Newcastle Utd, Burnley and Sheff Utd received payments, I am also given to understand that Leeds Utd (in the Championship at the time) took payments despite spending £95M on transfers...........

I thought it was reported that we were the only PL club to claim it. Fair enough if we weren't.

Spurs, Bournemouth and Liverpool all applied but u-turned based on the backlash they received, too.

It'd be interesting to learn how many of the clubs in the prem league avoid paying taxes into the country for the pot for these schemes to exist in the first place, too.

Not saying we're saints, but better ran than vast majority of the greedy bastards.

Absolutely scandalous waste of public money for the national exchequer to be keeping people in a job. No one has any given right to a job, not ever. This is true blue socialism. Back to the old days when state owned enterprises kept people in work when there was no demand for their services anymore.

They're paying nearly £4bn into the tax system though, I think if these clubs (employers) genuinely needed it or face job losses it's the correct thing to do, right?

Otherwise it's the common man who gets punished.  Mr dishwasher in the club canteen finds himself on the dole because the govt decided to lock the country down.  He's been paying his taxes, why should he not be supported?

I do not, and did not, agree with NCFC taking furlough payments during lockdown / Covid.

If we were that poor then we shouldn’t have spent tens of millions buying crap like Rashica, Tzolis, Sargent etc. All over priced rubbish.

The soul of the club died that day. We are (also) a greedy, horrible little club pretending to to be holier than thou.

Stuart Webber sums us up during that period.

Maybe the Government should have instructed companies with high earners to rebalance their payroll in favour of lower earners and that help would only be offered once such options were exhausted?

Doubtless some clients paying out for premium TV sports packages are claiming state support for other elements of their personal budgets.

Which goes back to the £4bn going to the tax man, you think the government would actively seek to reduce that amount?  Lower earners, lower tax percentages.

This is why the system is so flawed.. But if we are a club who operates within our means, don't take the **** with tax avoidance and want to continue employing staff at the lower end of the ladder, where's the problem?

We didn't create this environment, just remember that.  If you play fair and can't compete because of competitors who aren't, when it comes to receiving benefits for that compliance over the years, then you should very much reap them.

A bit more research reveals that Spurs also furloughed staff and claimed money from the job retention scheme. I do not agree with football clubs doing this where they have the resources to pay staff but we were not the only ones doing it........
