…So, Coventry or Luton?

Recommended Posts

Am I the only one who remembers 1984-85 season we won the milk cup.. Everton won the title, Coventry hadn't won in weeks & they beat Everton on the last day of the season 4-1 & put us down. What a fix that was!

So Luton for me!

Luton just stronger physically at the moment and deservedly ahead.

Precisely - it’s almost football v anti-football, which is why I want Coventry to win.

Is this the anti-football that beat us home and away.

Yes - we’ve never been any good playing physical sides, in all my 40+ years of going to games.

If a football side is playing a hoofball side I’ll always support the former - unless they are playing the binners.

Fair play to them both, but my god how bad is this?Either of them won't know what hit them next season. Proves how bad the Chump has been this year.

You can't blame Cov for that. They could hardly have thrown a game to win. They just played when the fixtures were scheduled.

Everton were on the beach by then. IMO, the blame for that was with the FA. I think since that season all last matches are played at the same time to help prevent teams from easing off.

What does it say about us if we were so far behind these two teams?

Nothing at all - one off games like these are often pretty (s)crappy.

18 points and 8 in the regular season does say alot

Whatever.  Fact is, I’ve rarely seen a ‘great’ play off final - some finals are utterly dire, it means nothing for the season those sides have had. Whoever gets there deserves to be there. It really is quite simple.

Quite a lot of empty seats in both ends, thought it was sold out?

Bored to tears so went home early.

Can't  fault the effort but it shows how badly we underperformed if these two finished ahead.

It certainly does, Morris looking more and more like a Holty protege, good to see him do well but generally not much quality on show.
