Canary Jedi 610 Posted October 16, 2022 Our early season luck has run out. Poor performances continue against Luton and Sheffield United which cause us to slip further down the league. Players who used to be good such as Aarons and Byram continue to underperform. Webber sees the light leading to the departure of SAS. Reserve team manager put in temporary charge. Proven manager takes the reigns on the back of promise of backing by new shareholder. New manager coaches the players in how to pass and move to give each other options while playing the ball forwards. Performances and results improve, supplemented by a couple of good signings in January. We return to the top of the league and are triumphant. Togetherness between the fans, players, club management returns. Americans step up with major investment in playing squad ready for our Premier League return. Would be nice, wouldn’t it!

If you think any club even more so us with our 'we never sack' mentality are happy to sack a manager who has us in 3rd and one point away from the top in October then you are mentally deranged. Its not going to happen regardless of how much you can cry and scream about wanting it to.

Beat us, a team struggling for now, and they go above us. And they have a better away record than home one.

Its not going to happen regardless of how much you can cry and scream about wanting it to. If you look at our history under S&J with managers, when a manager has achieved something solid like promotion, he then gets a lot of leeway. But until then, it’s much more hit & miss . Smith hasn’t yet got over that hump. If results over the next few games are poor, I can see them deciding it’s time to get someone new in to get started before the WC break. And I’m starting to feel that would be the right decision TBH.
Canary Jedi 610 Posted October 16, 2022 I can’t see another way. I no longer have confidence Smith can address the fundamental issues. They spend all week coaching the players. Where are those intricate pass and move triangles? We seem to rely on Hanley being playmaker for heaven’s sake!

Never mind intricate passes who hell coaches the sloppy defenders? WBA, Preston and now Watford. What does Shakespeare actually bring to the table? I don't think we're any better defensively than we were with Farke. We're losing matches before we have a chance to win them.
KernowCanary 214 Posted October 16, 2022 We’ve had our fries. Not going back up, but perhaps we can do without a promotion for once, as there is a good chance that we could go back down and maybe break Derby’s record.
Indy 3,471 Posted October 16, 2022 Does Smith really care? I doubt any decent tea will take him as their next coach, he’s not been linked to any other clubs and I can see him being the next Bolton or Peterborough boss! Big clubs in lower league.
Mike w 50 Posted October 16, 2022 I think team needs much tweeking. Watched yesterdays debacle. I thought wing backs should cover touchline wingers not give them free reign. Absolute mess with their two goals, no defending free run and all ball watching. We start with 10 plus Kenny and he was first mention after 23 minutes. Did he do anything prior ? Max is off boil certainly likes attacking but his job is 'defending first' . What a waste of corners not reaching near post and certainly need someone there who can head a ball towards target. Watford always have wingers wide, don't we ever learn ?? And time wasting as usual. Anyway we will win on Tuesday or else......................................
