TeemuVanBasten 3,328 Posted September 7, 2022 Signed a one year deal with Besiktas, expires just in time to fill that gaping big hole on the right wing if we get promoted?
cambridgeshire canary 7,798 Posted September 7, 2022 Deemed not good enough for the Saints anymore, and about as slow as a snail now and would demand silly wages we can't afford so..

Yellow Green Army 248 Posted September 7, 2022 Redmond is far from slow. Still only 28. Would have done a far better job than Rashicha, Placheta on the wing.
shefcanary 2,955 Posted September 7, 2022 I think Redmond's problem is re-inventing himself as a central midfield playmaker as he slows down. He hasn't cracked it yet.
keelansgrandad 6,680 Posted September 7, 2022 I must confess I don't think he ever really showed his full potential with us. When I saw him at Brum I thought he was going to be something special. He certainly had some memorable performances especially the playoffs and final, but I did feel he disappeared quite easily.

Agree. Without him being an ex, his name would not even crop up. Leave it that way.

He was excellent for us but it was during a time our fans were bizarrely behaved towards wingers. He was excellent for us to the point he secured a Prem move and has played regularly in the top flight since.
Ulfotto 798 Posted September 7, 2022 Hmm an option for sure but if Southampton don’t see the value then there must be a reason. Suggest he has probably lost half a yard if this is also has slowed his acceleration then it might be fatal for his top level career.
TeemuVanBasten 3,328 Posted September 7, 2022 He's only 28 and not 29 until March, do players slow down at that age without serious injury? People talking like he's 32.

Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man 4,616 Posted September 7, 2022 One of the biggest problems with our recruitment last summer was a total lack of Premier League experience. As a complete hypothetical, if we go up and Redmond does well in Turkey, I wouldn't say no to him if the price is right to add a bit of experience and depth to the squad. Have a look at the chap who scored the winning goal against us in the 73 League Cup final. Nutty looks younger than him in last weeks forum video.

As a youngster at Brum I was surprised he came to us and imagined it was a stepping stone to a top six club.
