Who gives a ****? The women have done brilliantly, it’s not a stick to beat the men with unless you’re just looking for an argument.

How is saying the women went one step better than the men's team a stick to beat the men?

Football is football, England are England. Nothing else matters, certainly not your gender.

But, rightly or wrongly it does, if it didn't they're would be mixed gender teams.

You're the one saying it's a stick with which to beat the men. You tell me!

Wiegman to win Manager of the year and The Lionesses to win Team of the Year.

No other contenders will get close.

What’s the relevance? England’s women just won, who cares that the men didn’t in similar circumstances? What’s your point?

The point is they deserve credit for going one step further than the men! Not to criticise the men.

You can’t do one without the other.

Absolutely brilliant watch. Love all the shots of girls in the crowd like this moment is going to redefine women’s football in this country for years to come. Even my little girl watched a fair bit, albeit she’s only 2 and a half so was more interested in her Flopsy bunny toy.

I disagree and think that's a pretty flawed dichotomy. Otherwise every time you highlight something exceptional you would apparently criticise something that's merely very good.

You're not. You're merely saying it wasn't quite as good. Not criticising them at all.

Let's hope that this gets more girls into football. That would be a fitting legacy of this tournament, I think.

There’s a huge difference between the men’s and women’s game, but Southgate could certainly learn a few things from Wiegman. His management in the final (and since) was very poor.

It's irrelevant, it's all relative and they can only beat what's in front of them.

That’s true, but a good manager can get the maximum out of a group of players and set them up to win a tournament, others can’t!

Surely they simply deserve credit for winning their tournament. The men’s performance shouldn’t, and doesn’t, need to even come into it?
