So this season has been a **** show, lets wallow in some nostalgia. I thought I'd run a few polls asking who people think our best players from different countries/continents are, starting with north of the border.

I went with what I thought were the most obvious options but if older fans think I'm missing anyone obvious from previous years please do let me know!

If people enjoy this poll/debate I'll do some more for other countries over the next few days/weeks.

Why is Simon Lappin not on this list 👎

Oh wait... it did not say "Greatest Spaniard to play for Norwich"

Jimmy Bone

He was a name that I saw listed but when I clicked on him it seems he wasn't actually at Norwich very long- was he very good?

Tommy Bryceland. When I was 8 he sent me down to the shop at Trowse to get him 20 fags plus 4 cream cakes from the bakery. They were for his lunch. Times have changed 😊

Robert Fleck by a long shot for me, legend on the pitch, and legend with the fans.  Gunn is a little tarnished with his run as manager, my mind doesn't directly go back to his playing career which does him a dis-service.

Too young for Forbes & MacDougall, too.

Recency bias means I've gone for Gunn as I've never seen Forbes or MacDougall. I did love Fleck but my visceral hatred of Glasgow Rangers means I could never pick him. The management thing doesn't bother me at all; he was asked to do a job and accepted, it's not really his fault that he was no good at it. He was one of my favourite players growing up, legend.

Fleck but Bone a good call for his brief speedy exuberant stay and also Tommy Bryceland who was a really clever player. All the others listed bring back happy memories too

I'm also too young for Forbes but voted for him based on a combo of people telling me how good he was combined with meeting him at a open day when I was 14 in 2002. Probably not the best thought process but hey ho.

SuperTed. What a character. What a finisher. What a time to support City? MacDougall and Boyer combined (along with a team of great worthies)  served to meet me in my relative infancy as a Canary supporter, but I'll never forget just how much  that period equalled anything that Walker or Farke were later to produce, imo.

At the time there was a lot of pressure to pick one or the other and show your support by getting a tat or wearing something with rangers/celtic.

I went Rangers because of Fleck and others I knew, but I much preferred the image of Celtic badge and kits.  In truth I really didn't give a ****, but for a few it seemed to matter enough to draw blood over - and if you were in the middle it was just as bad.

Fleck, no contest. Loved big Malks but he was far from a good footballer!

In the short time Jimmy Bone here he became a legend. Bit of a ‘ head down and charge ‘ type of player but effective. Scored our first ever top division goal.

Had a barney with Ron Saunders just after qualifying for the 1973 League Cup Final and stubborn Saunders refused to play him again which meant we had another Scot, a clown of a player called Jim Blair up front. Talk about cut your nose off…..

Kenny Foggo is such a glaring omission that I feel the poll should potentially be deleted and started again.

Two time Norwich City player of the year and had his own song.

Hugh Curran from that era also won the POTS, sandwiched between Foggo's two. Scored for Scotland against England at Wembley I believe also.

And no Robert Fleck?

Start again buddy.

We’ve had better Scottish players but one of my first heroes was Hugh Curran. Wasn’t with Norwich long but was a regular for Scotland. Strong forward and could head the ball like a bullet.

His career was ended with a back injury I think and in later years he worked in a car park in Oxford. Can’t think of many internationals who’d end up doing the same these days.

I mentioned Bryan Gunn in a teams meeting with some Scottish colleagues, and they all instantly started talking about Angus Gunn turning down Scotland, they didn't seem too pleased about that.

Its actually a bit odd that Gunn doesn't go and play for Scotland, I wonder if he regrets this now, Gordon and McGregor are getting caps into their late 30's, you'd think that Angus could collect a decent number.

Are we talking about Jimmy Bone here ? He had a decent stint.

Davie Robb managed little more than that but he was probably worse than Jim Blair 😀
