It's the only area in West Yorkshire that has decreased today though according to the local press. We need a decrease across the whole county.

Remember that Tuesdays and Wednesdays are invariably the days with the biggest totals thanks to the way results are reported so we should expect fatalities to be up on recent days. Somewhere around 500 plus shouldn't be far off the mark.

I'm not sure a shortage of Turkeys is any different from allowing all shops to open.

Thanks to the economy we are scaling down to a pigeon this year.

More or Less has been a brilliant listen during the pandemic. Straight up facts and stats, in an interesting way.👍

Much safer in this neck of the woods.

Lol

Our son speaks to his mates there still, reckons it all came from one place, spread into the 6th form then out from there.
We are outside the B postcodes ( Birmingham ) and for the 1st time for weeks us in WS have a minus over 7 days. B postcodes though still increasing by 40% even after 8 weeks of tier 2, 3 and lockdown.

For those whose only concern is the economy, or probably their own economy, just take a moment

Tributes have been paid to a couple who died 12 hours apart after contracting Covid-19.

Owen and Bredge Ward, who were both 69, passed away in hospital on Monday.

Last week, their family had hoped Mr and Mrs Ward, from Strabane, County Tyrone, were recovering from Covid-19. Instead, they are now preparing for their funeral on Wednesday.

Here’s a ‘conspiracy’ theory, bottom video from sky news

Here is some good news that hopefully will answer your question as to wether we have immunity and wether a vaccine works. At present though nobody can be 100% certain, hence why the need to isolate.

Immunity to the coronavirus may last years

Blood samples from recovered Covid-19 patients suggest a powerful immune response that could last years, and maybe even decades, researchers reported.
In the most comprehensive and long-ranging study of immune memory to the coronavirus to date, the study found that most people who have recovered still have enough immune cells to fend off the virus and prevent illness eight months after infection. These cells may persist in the body for a very, very long time to come.
Though not yet peer-reviewed nor published in a scientific journal, the research may come as a relief to those concerned that vaccines might have to be administered repeatedly to keep the pandemic under control.
Quote: “That amount of memory would likely prevent the vast majority of people from getting hospitalized disease, severe disease, for many years,” said Shane Crotty, a virologist who helped lead the new study.

BBC picked up a Good Law project story:

"Go-between paid £21m in taxpayer funds for NHS PPE"

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-54974373

Earlier this year, as the coronavirus pandemic was spreading rapidly around the world, Florida-based jewellery designer Michael Saiger set up a business to supply PPE to governments.

He used his experience of working with factories in China to land what are described as "a number of lucrative contracts" supplying protective gloves and gowns to the NHS.

Mr Saiger signed up a Spanish businessman, Gabriel Gonzalez Andersson, to help with "procurement, logistics, due diligence, product sourcing and quality control" of the PPE equipment. In effect, Mr Andersson was expected to find a manufacturer for deals that had already been done.

So far the UK's Department of Health and Social Care (DHSC) has published contracts with Mr Saiger's company, Saiger LLC, totalling more than £200m. These were awarded without being opened to competition.

But the court documents allege that once the agreements had been signed, Mr Andersson stopped doing any work for Mr Saiger. It's not clear whether Mr Andersson received any of the money for this second batch of deals.

One of the excuses is "we had to work fast".

Would be the only thing they did in a hurry then.

Pfizer results are even better than expected after more infections now reported. Their report shows that it is over 94% effective in over 65’s as well.

Oxford results ( the U.K. game changer ) are imminent.

Aye they are going to trot that one out relentlessly. Unfortunately there are stories coming out about British companies not being able to sell their accredited supplies of PPE or not getting contracts. But those with friends in high places were 10 times more likely to get a lucrative handshake. It stinks of spivvery.
