The Happy New Year Match Thread

Buendia is great but I just want to shout at him to 'get up' about 5 times a game. Great little bit of trickery, but if he actually gets back up instead of being on his knees and complaining then maybe he gives Aarons an option rather than him blazing over.

Cantwell is such a good player when he's confident- the control on that volley was really impressive.

Zimmermann is having a tricky match.

Not his strongest but Hanley is playing well again.

Decided to watch your game after ours.

Cantwell looks a very decent player, Pukki has similarities to Vardy.

You guys having to defend more, but you look very threatening when going forward, your forward play is intelligent.

Defensively is some nerves, it does feel like you need another one or two goals to win.

Good showing so far, just wish we coulda gone in 2-0 up at half time as we all know how well we've defended our leads as of late 😞

Watching this on BBC reminds me of some recent home games.  Expect poor second half but hope for the best.

Its that all important two goal lead that we don't seem able to get. Buendia is the first to leave within the next 30 days. He is superb and if he had better players around him he would flourish.

I am happy with that half and cannot complain apart from Zimbo tonight. He is like seagull siht. All over the place.

Keep up the passing and moving and to paraphrase Field of Dreams, pass it and it will come

Can we put two decent half's together? Farke's use of subs is vital to this.. Cantwell will tire, given his style of play, and Hernandez needs to be utilised in decent time.

Come on city.

Fourth home game in a row that we go 1-0 up. Can we win this one for a change?

Yes, because at last we are apparently playing towards the correct end in the second half, as we should have been doing all season...

True.  If pukki had Vardy's  pace  he'd be  unbelievable,  plus vardy gets a few with his head,  Teemu hardly ever does. Please make that untrue tonight.

Agree with this. Signs towards the end of the half of Tettey and Vrancic looking a little leggy.

They're having to work very hard against a quality midfield. Let's keep it fresh here Daniel! Smell the danger!

McGovern is curious. Is Fahrmann injured or are we planning on sending him back?

Fahrmann injured in the warm-up before the spurs (or villa) match...

This is where the frustration with Farke and his subs kicks in. Players beginning to tire, spending a lot of time defending our own box but no sign of fresh legs/

Terrible defending on a free kick. We look nervy. Need a second goal. Lucky to be up.

I think as an overall performance we were better v Villa and Wolves but if we win it won't matter.

Isn't it just. It's heading one way, again!

Come on Farke.
