Brown sauce or Red sauce

Baker does say this every year, about every club that gets promoted.

As a Millwall fan he must be so jealous.

BBC too sensitive, but he was a little insensitive tweeting it. By the way, it's brown sauce  on things like pork pies and bacon butty's but red sauce on Cornish Pastes and chips -it's the way I like it !

Sauce (of any colour) on a pasty? Are you an animal? 🤭🤢

A Cornish pasty...a proper one....is a rare treat. No sauce required.

Curious really, it never even crossed my mind -

a) that there is any more mixed race in the couple's child than many other couple's children

b) that the word monkey is still seen as having racist connotations

As for Baker, well past his best...whatever that was.....

"That the word monkey is still seen as having racist connotations"

Seriously? What do you think all the fuss is about monkey chants and bananas thrown on the pitch?

Brown sauce on everything.

Ever tried it in a cup of tea? See the Irish movie 'Intermission!'

Agreed. The idea someone can both be a football fan and unaware of the racist connotations of calling someone a black person a monkey is fairly mind boggling.

I didn't say I wasn't aware of the connotations, just saying there I find it a surprise that there are still some in the sub-human category who think that using the monkey reference is still something that somehow means anything other than that they are just ignorant.

So when was tha last time monkey chants were heard in this country?  Is it actually a thing still?  I know it happens in some countries, but I thought we had moved on in the UK, even if only a little.

Cheap! At a petrol station? Please pass on location of that reasonably priced forecourt retail outlet. Every time i visit UK  , i am amazed at the rip off prices at such places.

You're right. Cheap was definitely the wrong word. Poor quality or a swear word would have been better.

Carry on Lord Sugar - we at the BBC accept that you've apologised and we'll all move on

Surely couldn't be a massive case of double standards from the BBC could it???

I'm sorry but it's just a bit pathetic from everyone involved.

The original tweet was pathetic itself. Not even funny. But I don't think Baker is a racist and it could be said that it's because he's not racist that he didn't make any link between the photo he posted and the fact that Megan is mixed race. As soon as it was pointed out to him he removed it too.

Then the BBC come along as holier than thou and decide to sack him off the back of this? That's bordering on more pathetic than the tweet in the first place! I don't listen to Baker so i'm not personally fussed but it's all just a bit OTT and in my view, BBC should be concentrating on actual racist incidents and racist people than a stupid person making a mistake.

Might this be what Bobloz is referring too?

Norwich return to the Premier League. The Championship, like all good parents, will keep their room just as they left it for when they come back home next year.

If it is then I would suggest somebody is being a tad oversensitive.😳

Yeah. Perhaps the fact I don't really see any relevance in Danny Baker tarnished my opinion.

It isn't that bad at all. I wasn't upset with it. Was just looking for another stick to beat him with.

"Racist."

Currently the most overused word in the English language.

'Why is it that none of the pious ever realise that a cigar is just a cigar?'

Meat and two veg in a Pasty of course (if you don't count the onion)

By the way, don't buy anything from West Cornwall Pasty Company. Its owned by Danny Mills.

Do they taste particularly bitter then? I also assume you can have chips on the shoulder of them.

It isn't-it was in administration and was bought by a company for which Mills, among others, was one of the backers. It was then sold in 2017 to the company that owns Ginsters.

How come the moderators allow the word Ginsters? What is the world coming to? Automated pasty making.

My wife's homemade pasties (note the correct spelling) are mentioned in despatches on many rugby club websites. Only made properly if the end of the crimp hangs over the edge of the plate.

There's an Irish saying  '' It is easier to apologise than it is to ask permission.'' Given the reaction, DB should have sought permission for the Tweet.

He'd still have a Job , i reckon.
