Captain Birdseye 0 Posted March 8, 2017 Maddison, Godfrey etc etc should be automatic choices for the rest of the seasonSurely getting them competitive game time should be more important than playing players who don''t want to be hereIt just perplexes me why he won''t do it
Mister Chops 7 Posted March 8, 2017 Its not quite the time yet, because, although it is unlikely, a freak 3 or 4 game winning streak combined with some favourable results above us, could still, mathematically, see us stumble into the playoffs.Once all chance has gone you''ll see the youngsters. Matt Juler 211 Posted March 8, 2017 That''s why we had to go for broke last night, instead of shutting up shop for a point.
vlad666 207 Posted March 8, 2017 There''s only one direction we''re going under Neil and that''s downwards. We can''t give him any more money to waste. I wouldn''t trust him to go out and buy a pint of milk. He''d probably come home with an ironing board and pair of shoes. Next season we need 2 left backs, 2 centre backs and a right back just to sort the defence. As Neil likes to buy defenders who can''t actually defend, we need to act now and get rid. Mister Chops 7 Posted March 8, 2017 Any opinion on blooding the youngsters though?
Coq au vin 0 Posted March 8, 2017 If we made it to play offs we''d be awful. But I agree that once the chance has gone we''ll see the youth shoots.

rock bus 1,059 Posted March 8, 2017 totally agree with the idea of using the youngsters from now on.This is one of my biggest concerns re Alex Neil. After Saturday he admitted he may have been wrong to have kept his faith in the experienced players. So what does he do last night - drops Jacob from the entire squad and continues to rely on Martin, Tettey and Naismith. The bench even includes Whittaker, Bassong and Lafferty. Then just to add insult to injury, his only sub is Bassong for Josh whilst all the youngsters must have been screaming for a chance.I see nothing about him to suggest he will support and develop the youngsters in the team. Indeed the way he appears to have treated Josh Murphy, Pritchard, Maddison and Canos suggests the complete opposite. If it was me I''d be starting to build the team around these players now given the way he is continually being let down by the ''old guard''. ZLF 335 Posted March 8, 2017 if we are going to make some blood sacrifices I would prefer either Turner or Lafferty rather than the youngsters.
lake district canary 4,831 Posted March 8, 2017 Agree with Chops. There is still a chance of the play offs and that should still be the priority.

norfolkngood 1,174 Posted March 8, 2017 Agree with Chops. There is still a chance of the play offs and that should still be the priority. for that we would have to win most if not all our remaining matches can you honestly see us doing that ? we got a hammering at sheff weds and settled for a draw last night !! the chance has gone ! Guest Posted March 8, 2017 Put Pritchard, Godfrey and Maddison in against Blackburn. Then those who blame the players and not AN will have it on a plate.
Chesney Hawkes 0 Posted March 8, 2017 Don''t blood the kids until it is mathematically impossible for us to win the league.

Clint 221 Posted March 8, 2017 I''m failing to understand the correlation between us having a better chance of reaching the play offs and not playing the youngsters?Presumably you''ve all been watching the senior pro''s this season?
hampton canary 24 Posted March 8, 2017 Maddison, Godfrey and Pritchard were all on the bench on Tue which suggested Neil was possibly going to give them a chance; none of them got on the pitch in a game we had to win to keep in touch with top 6 . Once again he stuck with his experienced players and he even managed to bring on Bassong to keep a point, and presumably his job. Despite saying he may have made a mistake in relying on his experienced players he continues to do so game after game. Haven only taken 1 point from 9 recently against Rotherham, Burton and Bristol City it is unlikely on that form we will bridge the 9 point gap. If we see Martin, Tettey and Naismith against Blackburn on Saturday then it tells me we will continue to get the same team and same results for the foreseeable future whilst Neil is the manager.
