Feel a bit sorry for Rudd. Finally gets his chance but it''s in the heat of a Premier League relegation battle, playing behind an abject defence. I wonder if he might need this loan to regain some confidence.

A bit disappointing, but good luck to him.  A good season in League 1 will help him develop and should give him regular first team action.  Still young enough to make his mark at a higher level in due course.

People have to realise he isn''t actually very good.. when he came in for Ruddy he was poor especially the game against Villa. Fans only like him because he was a youth player but in reality he is a second string championship goalie at best, far worse than Ruddy and McGovern

Totally flattered to deceive when given his chance. Didn''t command his box and despite having a dodgy defence it is his job to organise them.

He''s not exactly young anymore and League One / mid champs seems to be about his level.

Could well be another case of Murphy / Morris syndrome. If the top sides Youth players barely make it into half decent teams then i fail to see why Norwich fans expect our Youth team to become world beaters.

Chris Martin is about the best we have produced since Bellars, Eadie etc and whilst he''s a decent player, he will likely remain a second tier one his entire career.

Great lad, but he is obviously behind Ruddy and McGovern in the pecking order. He needs to play football, so this is a bit of a no-brainer for both parties.

What overstatement - "isn''t actually very good".  I don''t know where some of you are coming from. Yes, he has a lot to learn, but is still a very promising goalkeeper, now with quite a lot of experience, very successfully at league one over a whole season and also now experience at premier league level, where he made some terrific saves, didn''t dominate as much a he probably needs to, but still did ok apart from one glaring error - and all goalkeepers make the occasional error.

Promising? He''s 25, not 18. The mistake against Villa was ludicrous! Unlike Ruddy he''s never actually proven his class.

Good luck to him but unfortunately he''s just not as good as Ruddy (who is a good goalkeeper who had a dip in form last season) or McGovern.

Yeah, whatever, but some of you seem to relish in running down our players for the sake of it.   I don''t like to write any of them off because they are all in a difficult career and at different stages of that career.  Rudd is still our player and with a potential future here as a first choice goalie, otherwise he would have been sold on.  He has had some fantastic games for us over the last three or four years - in cup games and in league games where he has played.  Yes he can - and will improve.  Writing him off is just dumb.

Ruddy isn''t the goalkeeper he was before the injury and is often prone to make mistakes but this is a "dip in form".

Rudd after a long time in development has a great spell in the team, but after 2 bad games it looks like his career at Norwich is over. Those 2 games when most of our team under- performed.

I cant understand the decision to send him on loan. Now, after giving away Keane, we need another keeper. One that is not expensive, happy not to play bit good enough to step in if needed.

The club has said that Ruddy can go, so we could be dowm to one who has just come on a free from Scotland.

Goalkeepers usually develop at an older age so it looks like we have given up pn Rudd.

Let''s hope the club is more patient with the Murphys. If we are just devoping for other teams there is no point in having a youth system.

If our Cat 1 status does nothing but develop players for other teams, then some might consider that a success as it will not only mean, in terms of incoming transfer fees (the fee Luton paid for McGeehan was one of the highest they''ve ever paid for a player) that the academy is self funding but probably ends up making a profit.The be all and end all as far as business is concerned, football included.Yes, ideally it produces players for our first team. But if it ends up producing players for other teams and they pay money for them, its job done.
