whoareyou? 0 Posted March 9, 2016 Whilst this is very much tongue in cheek, refs have cost us a fair few points this season - Palace, Leicester home, Chelsea home and away and i don''t recollect any match changing decisions made in our favour.

Still, we''re often reassured that "it all evens out over the season". So we can look forward to plenty of ref decisions in our favour over the rest of the games then...NOT. ron obvious 1,711 Posted March 9, 2016 Actually I can think of a few where we''ve had decisions go our way. But I''d say it''s about 4-1 against us.The one I shall never, never forgive or forget was Jerome''s disallowed goal. Apart from anything else, what a sickener for a player with low self-confidence to start with.A potential season changing moment. We''''ll never know. That could have been a break - had we consolidated in the rest of the match. While I agree that we''ve had more decisions go against us this season, I don''t think there is a conspiracy. Just incompetence. I''m hopeful our luck will change in the coming weeks. We sure do need it!
AJ 1,358 Posted March 9, 2016 Having seen it several times I''m not sure how it wasn''t given as a foul, however it might have been just outside the box anywayBut agreed, we''ve had no luck with fans
Horse Renoir 1 Posted March 9, 2016 Leicester were the second least fit because of some stupid stat about distance covered.....uh okay?...Oh I see you''re now basing the whole argument on that ''fact'' *closes page*It''s called a change in mentality, I don''t know how they achieved it as I''ve never played or coached football at any level but I suspect Pearson underestimated his team for a lot of the year, shackled them a bit and when it looked like they were down he let them play with freedom and they showed how good they were. I do think there''s something ''murky'' going on with referee''s though. The last match was the first time this season we''ve had a ref lean slightly in our favour and I believe that was a token gesture after the club had probably written a few scathing reports. It's Character Forming 1,204 Posted March 9, 2016 and I have no doubt that Leicester''s style of play is to try and draw fouls whenever they can. They go down easily, or dive, often. it doesn''t mean its a conspiracy that they get plenty of those decisions.
93vintage 16 Posted March 9, 2016 The Champions League draw has previously been fixed, as alleged a few years ago by Alex Ferguson, and subsequently demonstrated here and followed up here.If that draw can be fixed, at odds of 104/1, then it''s not unreasonable in my opinion to examine the possibility that some Premier League matches are fixed. The blog in the link, written by a former professional gambler, is of the opinion that fixing is common but particularly bad in the Premier League when compared to Germany''s Bundesliga (where they took preventative action after a match-fixing scandal). There''s so much money at stake from betting and so many criminals and dodgy characters involved in football these days, that it shouldn''t be a surprise that some matches are fixed. The blog seems to suggest that the weak link is referees, who are filtered and promoted to the Premier League list by a small number of bent insiders within the game.Obviously referees don''t get paid much compared to players, and they could be bribed, blackmailed or threatened in order to prevent them from blowing the whistle (excuse the pun). Katie Borkins 1 Posted March 9, 2016 The referee could have blown his whistle after Bassong''s wonder strike against Liverpool. I guess they played their Victim Card for the extra minute it took Lallana to mishit a volley into the ground.BOYCOTT NIVEA.
lake district canary 4,823 Posted March 9, 2016 Hardly likely to be out and out fixing going on, but the bigger clubs and their higher profile are bound to "influence" officials, even if it is on a sub-conscious level. Take that ridiculous lack of an offside decision against Chelsea, one of the most incompetent bits of officialdom you will ever see - but the bufoon with the flag was standing right in front of the Chelsea fans and that, even on a sub-conscious level, could have affected him. You would hope that officials could be completely impartial whatever the circumstances, but they are as subject to pressures, emotions and dramas as much as anyone and mistakes will always happen as a result. It is an unfortunate fact of life that those that make the most noise and have the higher profile will get the benefit in decisions made, more than the so called lesser teams. firststeps 0 Posted April 3, 2016 Two handballs in the penalty area, the first was to prevent a goal, the second no different to ours yesterday and the ref gives nothing. Always hated this ref since he sent off Holt at Reading. There might be something in this!?

It is an unfortunate fact of life that those that make the most noise and have the higher profile will get the benefit in decisions made, more than the so called lesser teams. -------------------------------------------------------------------Anyone who doesn''t think that SAF had a great influence on officials and decisions that were made are greatly deluded. The same can be said of many of the ''senior'' players playing in the Premiership. It''s far easier to caution an 18 or 19 year old than an international with 50 caps.
