  1. He made changes far too late. We dominated, but other than shots from outside the box we created nothing until the goal. Also, how many times did Gunn pass short, just to have the ball passed back to him with an Ipswich player running at him? In the first half we were also over playing and caused ourselves trouble once or twice. I also would have switched Reed for Pinto, not being critical of Reed but we had a shocking lack of attacking width on the right, which then gave Ipswich an easy out ball to clear it. This isn’t new stuff either, it’s been a feature of our home performances all season. When we dominate the ball, we create less. When we find ourselves losing and go direct, we create more.
  2. @Fenway Because it’s still 2 points dropped in a game we have dominated (according to the stats at least) where we struggled to even create a chance in the final 25yards of the pitch Take the derby sentiment away and it’s the same issues that have plagued us all season.
  3. You don’t see a glaring flaw? I would say our home form shows it pretty well. 5 homes wins all season is it? How many chances did we create in the box today? Did we ever look like scoring before Ipswich scored? We can’t keep relying on Maddison putting one in the top corner from 25yards because what will we do when he’s not here next year?
  4. Means nothing if we can’t win home games. Bristol City have 3 tough games in a week. We simply had to win today to close the gap and give ourselves a shot. You need much better home form to get in the playoffs - especially given our last 4 games
  5. I think it’s harsh to criticise Oliveira for the last few weeks I mean, did we actually make a chance in their box today, other than the goal?
  6. I keep seeing Henderson’s name pop up, have done for the last few years, and always ask myself if it is actually him?
  7. If I was Ipswich I would be furious about the keeper charging out for no reason, as soon as Hanley got his head up and got the ball back into the box we just had to get it on target
  8. I felt Reed played more as a right back today, where Pinto would have played more as a wing back. Too many times there was no width on the right and Ipswich could easily play there way out from that position
  9. Complete lack of invention going forward, even making a mess of our set plays. Lack of width on the right as well, wouldn’t mind seeing Pinto brought on
  10. Fulham v Villa today. I guess we all want a Villa win?
  11. ‘Delia''s Restaurant and Bar is open every Friday and Saturday evening offering first class service in a very elegant setting.‘ My guess it was open 7 days a week previously?
  12. I’m never confident the week before a derby. There is always that nagging doubt in the back of my head telling me it’s all going to go wrong - yet another part of me thugs we are going to smash them and finally find our goalscoring touch? Actually tempted to put a bet on an Oliveira hat trick!
  13. Maddison now at 50%... He’s going to need a seriously big shelf to put all of these awards on
  14. Also just realised Bristol City v Fulham is the same night as we play Wolves - almost gives us a feee shot as we can’t drop more than a point further behind 6th place
  15. The next few weeks have thrown up some interesting games... Saturday 17th: Cardiff City v Middlesbrough Fulham v Aston Villa Preston North End v Wolves Sunderland v Brentford Sunday 18th: Norwich City v Ipswich Town Leeds United v Bristol City Tuesday 20th: Aston Villa v Preston North End Wednesday 21st: Bristol City v Fulham Derby County v Leeds United Ipswich Town v Cardiff City Wolverhampton Wanderers v Norwich City Saturday 24th: Leeds United v Brentford Norwich City v Bolton Wanderers Preston North End v Ipswich Town Fulham v Wolverhampton Wanderers Sunday 25th: Cardiff City v Bristol City It seems February is going to be make or break for a lot of teams when it comes to the playoffs. Keep our current form up this month and we could have just as much chance as anybody
  16. Yeah, one angle from the replay. Looked like he totally made the most of it and didn’t look natural at all If that’s bollox then I apologise for having an opinion!
  17. We look a good side up until the edge of the oppositions box. We still need to crack that last bit of the puzzle
  18. To look at it another way, remember Kane last week? And Willian in the replay? Players that were going down regardless of any contact. From the highlights video it just looks completely unnatural. I don’t doubt there’s contact, but that doesn’t mean Maddison hasn’t made the most of it. Something similar happened in the Watford v Chelsea game and Courtois spoke brilliantly about it - although there is a clear difference in opinion when it comes to if you are an attacking player or a goalkeeper
  19. It’s some dive from Maddison, amazed the Lino give that from his angle!
  20. I don’t get why they are so hung up on it. The penalty was missed. A stonewall penalty was then not given as the ref evened it up - I notice Rowett didn’t mention that?
  21. Next week is season defining for both teams. If we win, we keep our (slim) play off hopes alive and end Ipswichs season If we lose, Ipswich keep their (slim) play off hopes alive and end our season If we draw, we both fall away from play off contention. Winner takes all!
