1. I have been one of BJs biggest critics, a few more shifts like that and I will happily eat my words. Well done that man.
2. PS I dont have an issue with the military, I just dont feel its healthy to hero worship ALL soldiers or lionise the forces either.
3. People arent paid by the social value of their work they are paid by its market value.Personally I dont see what is special about soldiers, I would substitute Fireman or Nurses for the argument, but what I do know is that we have chosen our economic system as a society. We want our cake and to eat it, we want the efficiencys of the free market and the social justice of another economic system. The two arent compatible.
4. On the other hand, QPR look a decent bet too come back up and Newcastle and West Ham both bounced straight back. In fact the hammers have done it twice. These players COULD do very well in the championship, alternatively they could be disheartened and fail miserably. All in all it depends on player contracts, whether they have automatic wage drops or not will make a fair difference. The manager wont stay if we get relegated, im pretty sure that was McNallys point on Radio Norfolk a few weeks ago.
5. Ruel Fox, dunno why, just would have loved to see him play.
6. I feel chants of "you fat legend" would solve this argument.
7.
Ricardo it amazes me how level headed you remain on here.Do you want him gone!!
Im going to second my admiration on the first front, Im not too worried about the second point though. As a die hard reactionary, I will happily say I do like some perspective from others.
8.
Only people not educated or intelligent enough to grasp reality would ever blame one person especially one person who has only very a small influence over events.
So all of Fergies success was nothing to do with his individual influence over his football club. Lamberts double promotions were just because of Mcnally, the board and the players and had nothing to do with playing an adventurous form of attacking football which fitted the assets at his disposal and what Brian Clough achieved was simply run of the mill good luck. Give me a break, I dont blame him for a single loss, I will blame him for patterns of results brought about by reducing the confidence of a team, playing too rigid football and not seeing the obvious lack of links between strikers and the midfield. We should probably scrap the position of manager, I mean its the players who do the playing, why do we need someone to coordinate tactics, decide the team and create vision for a squad.
9. One of the problems with holding on to 0-0 and 1-0s all season is that players lose confidence in front of goal. Now we need one, we cant buy one.
10. are Ipswich looking for a manager, because I have the perfect suggestion.
11. I wont blame Hughton for both those goals, Ill blame him for the fact that in the entire season we have only scored more than once in 3 games. Which by my reckoning means that we have a 1-8 chance of getting back into this match, despite only being 2-1 down. Ohh and did I mention we spent 18,000,000 on attacking players in the summer.Seriously, I gave Hughton till 15 games into this season, I really feel I have backed the guy to the hilt, but the reality is we are in our third season, with a HUGE net spend and we still cant score twice.
12. Sorry I think my bitterness is coming out now, time to go back to work, when I end my shift Im sure ill come home to another great Harry Kane moment.
13. To be fair his 6 assists and 2 premier league goals will make a huge difference to our attacking strength. Then again he wont actively make us worse. Unless in some way Hughton decides that now he has marveaux the team will need to play a slightly more rigid style, maybe with 5 at the back.
14. I just cant imagine how Chuck Hatch from Ohio has ended up CHOOSING to watch the dire bullshit we put out every week.
15. Well if you have something insightful to say please tell all.As it is I have never seen you give us a post that hasnt been about plastics, I can only assume someone from outside the ring road slept with your wife.
16. When the inevitable "we tried hard but the right player wasn''t available for the money" statement comes out. At least if we stay up we will get a massive transfer budget in summer. The only good thing about the January transfer window is it is like a national lottery rollover
17. I doubt its true, but if so good luck to him.I half expected ''arry to be in for him, what with Charlie Austins injury.
18. I can see the sense in it, removes a potential problem player from the squad, but at the same time shows that players cant dictate terms when under contract. Shows clubs that they need to maintain a good working relationship with us if they want deals to go through (its not lamberts leaving that got me, but the Jed Steer signing that pissed me off) and that you have to bid the market value rather than unsettling a player and hope he forces his way out on the cheap. Pays the wages of a player who rarely plays and wouldnt play well if demoralised anyway and gives us the option to sell at a later date. Also if they can get the best of him at West Brom then he may well damage teams around us. All in all, there is some logic to it.
19. I just find it incredible that in a month long transfer window, Norwich City staff appear unable to contemplate making a move for both an attacking midfielder AND a cover defender. Multi tasking skills are apparently lacking at Carrow Road nowadays.
20. Everyone focuses on the last 4 games but the reality is through march and early april we could pick up points from every game. There is not one where there would be a shock if we got at least a point. Hardest game in that run is Southampton away. We could and should be 9 points ahead of the curve then. If we are 6 now, then all we need to do is match the points of the others down the bottom and win one more than them in that run. Thats more than doable.
21. If we can stretch the gap with the bottom 4/5 to 7 points before that 4 game run id be confident of staying up, as it is I reckon we are on course to be fine. Then we will be able to do some analysis and make changes if necessary in summer. Personally I was pretty critical of letting Ayala go but tbh im pretty sure even a 33 year old Yobo is actually a better centre back than him so ill probs let off for a while now.
22. We wont get him, but that doesnt mean we shouldnt bid.Holtby for us would be the clincher in this squad, and for 5.5 million and despite the big wage payout he would be a steal. Then again we have that wonderfully self created hole to fill at centre back before that will happen....
23. I just dont understand why we sold Ayala, he might not be great but we created an artificial gap in the squad which we now need to fill. This takes up significant resources and time, clubs actually have only a moderate amount of money, scouting and even administrative resources in a transfer window and we are wasting some of ours on a Centre half when we have kept 8 clean sheets this season. The midfield is in a mess, we have two players who we cant fit in to the squad effectively there, in the form of Hoolahan who cant defend and doesnt want to be here and BJ who cant distrubute, have had injury hits for two of the others and have one who is exhausted. Oh and if you play a three man midfield having only 5 in your squad of which only 4 can effectively play you are always destined for a disaster. On my count we have 7 wingers on the books atm. Snoddy, Pilks, Redmond, E Bennett, Gutierrez, Murphy and Murphy. But only three genuine multi role central midfielders. I cant even begin to express how p-issed off I will be if we dont bring anyone in. I also find it more surprising that we havent apparently looked for a linking striker or no 10 between the forwards and the midfield if we want to play 4-4-2, isnt that what the quag and toivonen bids were about? Werent they supposed to be the 2nd strikers to RVW and Hooper? I''m literally at a loss as to what the strategy is... or even if there is a strategy.
24. Yeah thats the plus side, and to be fair the defence is often pretty stong, but to say that goals are a problem is an understatement. We have scored more than once in only 3 games this season if my memory serves. After an 18,000,000 investment in attacking players (including redmond that is). I cannot see how questions cant be asked after that. Despite this, we seem to be in for a central defender this transfer window, rather than just keeping Ayala and looking for the playmaker who we desperately need. Sometimes football clubs seem to operate on some strange reverse rationality principle that I dont understand.
25. Bradley Johnson should never be a starting premier league player, a typical English player, runs a lot, applies himself, is combative but cant pass 3 yards. I know he has his good days, but on balance Im still shocked he is rated higher than Tettey by some of our fans.Yeah its a shame about Fer, he seems to be slowly dieing, then again Im not sure any of the Norwich players are enjoying their football atm and that does takes its toll.
