  1. We keep moaning about Redmond, but the other teams seem to fear him still - putting two, three men on him and thereby making space for other people.
  2. Will Cuellar be match fit? Could be on the bench as cover for RB and CB. Not sure he plays LB. Agree that Whitts looked more comfortable as LB than RB, despite being supported more as RB by Laferty than at LB by Redmond.
  3. I cannot believe that some of those who post on here are NCFC supporters. If they are, and they think it is funny to denigrate City at every opportunity, then I can tell them that the joke fell flat a long time ago. No team, to my knowledge, has ever gone a whole season in the Championship without losing any games. we''ve lost one already, and we will lose some more this season, We will draw some games we have dominated too, but I have been impressed with what NA has managed to do already. He (or others) have made at least two good signings already, brought Wesley back into the fold and got us playing football again. We still have the core of the team which nearly stayed up last season - despite Hughton''s (lack of) tactics. Last season people kept saying "I''ll give Hughton 10 games before I pass judgement". NA deserves the same.
  4. He will be a great addition to the bench, but will have to wait his turn, as Tetty and Johnson were good on Tuesday night. When we bought Howson I had a look at a Leeds mesageboard, and, while their fans really rated him, they also felt that he could "go missing" for periods of time, which seems to sum up his time at Norwich.
  5. Lafety saved Whittaker several times in the first half, whereas in the second half Whittaker looked more comfortable. So whether it was down to who he was playing against ,or not, I cannot say. Wes really looked up for it, and it is like having a new signing. Grabban and Lafety both ran their socks off and did very well, but Tetty was MOM for me. Yes he did miss hit a couple of passes, but he stedied the ship after their opening goal and really bossed the midfield, and had some really good runs forwards with the ball. When you consider the "valuation" of Jordan Rhodes and others in this division I think we have the two buys of the season in Grabban and Lafety.
  6. Not long ago there was talk that Tetty wanted away, well tonight he played his socks off, and saved us on several occasions early on when Blackburn looked like running riot. Laferty also saved Whittaker on several occasions in the first half. Did our defence win a header in the first half? Garrido going off changed things enormously - suddenly someone was winning headers (Bennett) and Whittaker looked more comfortable playing left back. I think I was dreaming, because I thought I saw Bradders by their right corner flag - and that was before his goal celebration. We were not the finished article tonight, but recovered from a poor start and deserved the three points.
  7. Bor Bor Bor wrote "Under Robert Chase we enjoyed a period of unparalleled success and never sold any of our best players". Yes, but this is a selective memory. That period was followed by a period of frenzied selling, which culminated in the Wimbledon at home match, where Efan Ekoku scored the winner against us, and we had Rob Newman up front (ffs).
  8. Has Redmond developed since he joined us? Scored against Southampton, but since then he has been concentrating on hitting row Z with more consistency.
  9. AB is a doorknob, and I haven''t heard him say those words, so I can only guess at his intonation and implied meaning, but I can see that , just maybe, he was thinking it through and reflecting on how awful this is for Williams'' family. Suicide can be seen as a selfish course of action, because the person committing suicide has not thought about the impact on their family - or they have thought about it and done it anyway. I realise that the person committing suicide may be thinking "OH, they''ll be better off without me.", but I would think that they are rarely better off. I can remember a time when I felt very low and I opened a cupboard and saw one of my guns. I had barely begun to contemplate using the gun on myself as an option when my Mum drove by in her car, and I saw the implications of my possible suicide. Suicide does seem to be on the increase and the favoured method at the moment is stepping in front of a train. My sympathy lies with the poor train drivers - it must give them nightmares. Should the suicide of a successful actor be such headline news? In a tabloid newspaper perhaps, but on the BBC and ITV? Ditto with Oscar Prat-torius - I am sorry for his girlfriend''s family (and for her too), but I want to know what is happening in Ukraine and Iraq and not in a South African courtroom.
  10. I am not sure this was good for our hopes of promotion. Pilks at least knew where the goal was - after his first Man U away game. I''d rather we''d sold Redmond, who doesn''t know where the goal is most of the time. City are threatening to make me bi-polar - how else can I explain my rapid mood swing on Sunday afternoon?
  11. "We come in peace...shoot to kill" as the song said. If not, then set our Fazers to stun.
  12. If the forecast is to be believed the weather tomorrow will be a real "pant-wetter", even if you stand in the away end.
  13. I agree with chicken. It would be very strange timing. Bournemouth could have made the move a condition of selling Grabban, but that chance has passed. The fact that Surman has featured in the friendlies suggests to me that he is staying. I may be proved wrong.
  14. A Nick Cage film is great if you remove your intelligence chip before watching. Face off is the most insulting film I have ever watched: yes their faces have been switched, but Cage''s wife somehow knew her husband so little that she didn''t notice that his voice had changed, nor his body, nor his smell, personality, sense of humour, tastes in clothes, art, fiction, political opinions etc etc. IMO Nick Cage is the most wooden actor in Hollywood, which is why it was so funny when he was cast in the remake of The Wicker Man. They didn''t need a prop, they just carved the set out of Cage himself.
  15. I can imagine that singing "Abide with Me" before kick-off could be a bit of a turn-off.
  16. First Wazzock wrote: Wonder if he went down in the box...? Leroy will have been showing off his World Cup balls. Mrs Fer is hoping there''s no result by the end of normal time. During extra time the Golden Goal regulations apply, but if Leroy scores first he loses, and has to take a penalty.
  17. We currently have a better squad than at this time last year, so if we manage to hang on to most of them we should be in with a good shout.
  18. Funny to think of the French admiring English Lawns as I seem to remember that the word "Lawn" comes from the French word for an area of grass in a Medieval Deer Park.
  19. Hello. I haven''t been on this thread before, so I thought I''d pay a visit to avoid threads about someone having a Wazz.. I see that there''s been plenty of visitors over the months - the carpet is filthy, wet and smells strongly of wet pants. There''s a bin bag here, what''s it full to bulging with? Ah, assurances from a Mr C Hughton that he knows what he''s doing. What''s that crunching under my feet? - shattered dreams. But wait a minute, there''s a door over in the far wall with a bright light coming from under it. It''s locked, but there;''s a notice pinned to the door: "The Future. Under New Management. Opening on 10th August." I can''t wait.
  20. The news is that Leroy has strained his groin during the warm-up and will definitely not score tonight.
  21. I imagine that Lansbury would be less reticent about playing one of the northern sides away on a wet Tuesday night. We could do worse.
  22. Interesting side headline in that paper: "Yo no me borre Mienten" Google translated it as "Yes but, no but, me BorBor Bor is like Minted, now."
