  1. I am sure we all remember this from the world cup right?
  2. Factor in the angle and the curvature of the ball, and it's likely still in play. Certainly not clear enough to suggest the assistant got it wrong.
  3. I thought a player couldn't move twice in a window?
  4. Agreed, you must sit fairly near me. Couple of guys who normally don't make much noise foam at the mouth whenever Idah comes within 5 yards of the ball. Weird, but he is 100% designated Carrow Road boo boy this season. It takes a very special type of sad loser to not want one of your own young players to succeed, but I guess there are some special "supporters" at the club!
  5. Dunno about that, some of the abuse he was getting last season was beyond the pale, and well in excess of other players who were equally poor.
  6. Couldn't agree more. Surely our requirements for players are pretty simple and straightforward. Between the ages of 19-24, never had an injury, ideally a league winner or at least experience of promotion. Strikers simply need Pukki's finishing ability (as a bare minimum), whilst defensive players should have a similar set of skills that would be expected of a modern Beckenbauer. Also, available for somewhere within our budget (e.g. free/minimal transfer fee). I just don't understand why Webber and team haven't been able to find anybody to tick all the boxes, clearly his heart is no longer in it.
  7. That may or may not be true in your school, but I know several people whose children were forced to take part in pride parades at school despite the fact they didn't particularly want to participate.
  8. He's a journalist. I have no idea why people would prefer club friendly mouthpieces - I don't think this is an unreasonable story at all.
  9. Webber could have been positive, focusing on the growth and improvement of women's football in general, and kept any of his own negative opinions to himself. Not even like you need media training for this - it's basic common sense, particularly for someone in a leadership position at the club. Webber clearly isn't stupid, so he's either trying to draw the flak away from the coach and squad, wants to be put out of his misery with a big pay off, or simply does not give a monkey's and believes his own "straight talking" hype. I can't decide which. Again, it does all emphasise a lack of accountability and structure at the club when your DoF talks in this fashion.
  10. I am not sure how the lack of atmosphere can be put down to an ageing fanbase, given that I recall things being pretty noisy during our promotion seasons just a few years ago? Or is the OP suggesting that these few years has tipped the balance? Without evidence, this just seems like jumping on the usual ageism bandwagon.
  11. Problem is a lot of people were so sure Smith was the problem it's come as a bit of a shock (after Wagner's improved start), that perhaps the team has finished exactly where it deserves to. Smith may not have been the right manager for us, but it was clear that he didn't have the right tools for the job.
  12. I very much doubt if the site was to be disabled to new members, the owners would decide the best way to do that is to break the site email. Pretty sure they would just disable new registrations. Likely to be a technical issue, or perhaps a problem with your spam @TeemuVanBasten?
  13. I didn't actually realise how young Idah still is - he does have time to grow, and I am guessing the deal wasn't exactly huge money so I think it probably makes sense. We also need a bit of experience at this level, and Hernandez is one who can be a good impact player for us. The key thing is whether we get better players in and the two above add squad depth, or whether they are the limit of our current ambitions.
  14. Bet he had really excellent stats on paper though.
  15. It's clear to me there has to be a cultural problem at the club. The seeming atypical board structure, the relationships between board members, the total lack of leadership from anybody outside of the immediate coaching staff (when did we last hear from Webber, Adams, Delia?) all point to an organisation where those at the top believe their own hype and feel untouchable. Ultimately, you cannot capitulate in the way we have over the last two seasons without there being some serious problems behind the scenes. When was the last time any fan was confident we will come back from a goal down to get anything from a game? I don't believe it's fair to level this all at Webber, but ultimately I don't think many (if any) fans understand the identity or plan at the football club now, which has led to a huge disconnect between fans and staff.
  16. Doesn't really make sense. If they don't like flying does that mean they aren't a good scout? Does it mean they won't fly or do they just not enjoy it? Of all the things to attack the club about recently, this doesn't really seem very relevant.
  17. It wouldn't be unreasonable to draw parallels between where Tottenham and Norwich are as clubs at the moment. I wonder if the problems at both have similar root causes as well?
  18. Very nice of Spurs to cheer us up.
  19. Am I right in thinking those on the monthly D/D who lazily didn't cancel could cancel their D/D at any time? Asking for a friend.
  20. I don't think anyone is blaming him. It just IMO shouldn't be anyone's primary concern as to whether he gets a nice send off when our club is such a mess at the moment. For what it's worth, I still think he has more quality than 95% of our squad, but we are where we are.
  21. In all honesty, I hadn't even given it a second thought, and am not really that bothered. Players come and go - Pukki has been brilliant for us, but we have also been brilliant for Pukki. I hope he gets a good send off, but ultimately he has chosen to move onto pastures anew whilst us fans unfortunately don't have that choice.
  22. Behave. Anyway, that wasn't my point. People moaning about Hernandez getting a new contract when he is a useful impact player at this level, seem to forget we have spunked relatively huge money on players who haven't even been a bit-part of the squad. Whatever reason you want to believe for that is up to you, but it doesn't hide the fact Onel has clearly been a far better investment for the club.
