1. " The main worry for me is the sense of resignation on the pitch From the start of the second half it felt like a lot of our players didn''t believe we could get anything " Agree with that, but I think it would have been different if we hadn''t conceded the third goal. What happens next is critical - do the team belive they took a big step forward in terms of their play (i.e Holt and Tettey) or do they go into a funck - this is the managers responsibility, he sets the tone.
2. Lets quit with the "happy clapper" b@t5h1t , everyone here suppports the team. As it is a on-line forum we can reasonably disagree with each other, but the one thing that will prevent any chance of sucess is turning on ourselves, the players and the club.
3. Agree, Tettey starting to look the part, Holt almost back to his best, Ruddy maninatining his good form. We can turn this around....
4. Look, today was a master class from Chelseas front 6. Despite that the good thing was we are getting our formation back. First half could have easily finshed 2-2, the killer for us was the break from the corner. Changes WERE made, Snodgrass out, Tettey in, Hoolahan retained, and we looked much better for that. Remember we''ve had Fox, Pliks and Bennet out injured, and so now the opportunity to build on what we had first half is there. We are not out of this league, there is a long way to go, but the ONE thing that wil destroy any chance we have for sucess is to kill the player''s and other support''s confidence.
5. The best thing about today - and despite the result there were good things - is we ae finally finding our shape going forward. Chelsea showed why they will run away with the league unless the two Manchester clubs pull their finger out.
6. " ]I think the thing that worries me most is there seems to be a few snivelling little worms around here actually willing the team to do badly so they can say I told you so. After the point and performance at Spurs they crawled back into their holes just wishing and waiting for us to slip up and it''s pathetic " Dead right. We are not relegated yet, not by a long way, although some on here seem to revel in that prospect. BUT we do need to be confident in our own capabilities, and although that has to come from the manager and players themselves a significant part of that confidence comes from the attitude of the fans. Nothing will contribute to our decline faster than the fans turning on the players.
7. Or given that they capitulated to Soton at the weekend he read them the riot act and demanded they turn in a performance....
8. Not a big suprise, Villa and Soton are both horrible at the back... A draw would have been nice, but one or the other getting a demoralizing defeat works fine too.
9. Scored 4 and let in 13 ... humm...bit of a nightmare that. Good job for them thay got that last minute winner at Watford.
10. I agree, I think we can see the bottom four: in no particular order - Southampton, Reading, QPR, Wigan. And for a surprise team, the "too good to go down" team, I''ll offer three - Villa, West Brom, Stoke.
11. I think we can see the botom four: in no particular order - Southampton, Reading, QPR, Wigan.
12. Early days yet, but West Ham, Southampton and QPR. All three seem to be terrible in central defence.
13. " They haven''t fielded their £12M signing yet! " I hope for their sake he''s a defender - awful marking again from them today... it seems to be the weak link of all the promoted teams. Just like us last year, but if anything they seem worse !
14. " Don''t forget Rickie Lambert. He''s scored two now so no doubt will be considered before Holt. Zamora is a ghastly thought, would prefer Crouch if anyone other than Holt " Yup to Lambert... ( let him risk getting injured rather than Holt ) ... he''s the form player and ( excluding Holt) closet to Carroll in size / style of play ...
15. I mean when you look at the squads the teams we still have to play have, how can we get anything out of those games. 2 points it is then. League 1 here we come again.
16. ... and if we don''t get another point we''d have 2.
17. Yeah, imagine if we lost all of those games....
18. " Good to see they are not festering around today, perhaps there is not for them to pick apart today... " I''ll try .. Johnson. Utter c__p. No less than TWO shots blazed over the bar when all had to do was stroke it into the net. And it WAS him wasn''t it, who just stopped running and gave the Spurs player a free run on goal from which they scored... Lucky to be bailed out by the rest of the team, but he cost us 2 points. Of course he won''t care if those 2 pints relegate us, he''ll still have his fat paycheck. Get rid a.s.a.p.
19. " There''s worse teams than us this season. I think Southampton and reading will both struggle, despite a good start west brom will fall away, wigan will be down there not to mention QPR (despite the money they''ve spent) " Agree with that.Soton, Reading and West Ham all look dicidely dodgy in defence, Villa may not have signed enough to keep them out of trouble, QPR could implode and Wigan may be unable to keep their miracle gping.. So that''s six candidates to finish below us right there...
20. The fact is Zamora was miles inside the penalty box when the kick was taken, and clearly seeking (and gaining) an unfair advantage. Whether there were any Norwich defenders in the area or not is not relevent, if anyone other than the keeper and the penalty kick taker the ball is dead and the kick should be re-taken. So would Cisse have scored the re-taken penalty? The odds are that he would, but the fact remains Zamora committed a dead ball infractraction, the penalty should not have stood. As for Norwich defenders being in the area (but reacting more slowly) - what do you expect them to do ?
21. Like eveyone else, if they don''t fix their defense they have no hope of staying up. Yesterday it was crystal clear why Villa got rid of Collins.. the WH defence apparentky has no pace and were all over the place. My bottom 6 - in no particular order : Soton Villa West Ham QPR Wigan Reading
22.
Looks like wet sham will really struggle - one worse than us so far, can we find another two???
Soton for sure, maybe Aston Villa and QPR will come completely undone in the next few weeks ... and Wigan could struggle w/o Moses. BTW why couldn''t Soton sell their ground out today?
23.

According to Robbie Savage he said they were a complete shambles and certanties for relegation. Apparently they did not even have a shot ?
They had one.
about the same as us at Fulham then?
Yes about the same c**p performance as us, just didn''t conceed as many goals... We''ll see how things pan out over the next few games ...
24. We have the money to buy another striker, so keep. He didn''t become a poor player overnight, so let''s play to his strengths, or put him on the bench and play Vaughan or Morison if we only play one up front.
