  1. Good piece, you give all the reasons and then offer the wrong solution. Had this been "The Apprentice", Alan Sugar would have enough information now to raise his finger and say "with regret, your fired".....simple as that, whether you like Neil Adams or not. We are not talking about a business partnership here worth UKP 250k, but a multi million pound football club/business that deserves the very best leading it!
  2. On the contrary, I think Forest will not be wanting to play a good team that has just suffered an embarrassing defeat and will be wanting to fix it!
  3. I didnt hear him say that, but.....had that been his predecessor this thread would have been red hot, although there were more active posters then of course. Agree he picks the team etc.....but......Mr.Nice Guy doesnt work with under performers!!
  4. Sadly, Gary Megson and Nigel Worthington would probably make a better job of things than Neil Adams is right now.......I know that hurts, but it''s true surely!
  5. LDC, generally I am with you. BUT...this is certainly more than one defeat when looking over the games played so far and the quality of our squad...isnt it? That said, certainly not time for sacking the CEO.....but to see him and the Board be brave perhaps?
  6. I have been thinking about this a lot today, almost distracted me from my work a couple of times, but then had some thinking time in the dentist''s chair. I''m one for wanting a settled club, and even though NA was not my preference I have genuinely wanted it to work out for him. BUT......this IS a massive golden opportunity to bounce back at the first attempt, he has a terrific squad and there is no way we should be tonked like we were last night by ANY team in this league.....in my humble opinion. So, whilst it would certainly appear harsh to some, when taking into consideration all of the facts, then I would certainly not be complaining if the club were brave, very brave and changed to an experience hardened manager with knowledge of this league and a record of how to get out of it. As for Tony Pulis, before he joined Palarse he was on TV a lot over here as a pundit, and you couldnt help but be very impressed by his knowledge of the game and the way he spoke tactically, particularly about defending. He played things differently at Stoke and Palace based on the resources at his disposal and I feel would be an amazing appointment for our club and where it is right now. Plus, right now the football style NA is showing is really is not "getting our Norwich City back" type football is it? ...despite all the initial promises. Pulis is a clever coach, very clever and he would have our squad firing very quickly I''m sure. I would love it to work out for NA......but common sense and many years following the game and Norwich City tells me that it isnt....plus I was one of those who was happy to give a very capable manager in Chris Hughton longer and have learnt from that mistake....I hope the club has too.
  7. I''m somewhere between Drazen and Ricardo on this, and am really hoping NA, who wasnt my choice, will turn this round as I am a huge fan of stability. BUT, we must not throw this golden opportunity to bounce back away, and NO team in this league should tonk us like that!

  9. Despite Forest''s heavy defeat they still managed a lot of shots at goal, could be an interesting match when we play them, we need a minimum four points from these next two games.
  10. Yes agree with Highland on this one, seems a reasonable loan. Plus of course another indicator of just how strong the squad is to afford a player of this quality to go out, seems like a win-win.
  11. We did dominate and should have won more convincingly against what was a very poor Bolton, we didnt just make them look poor, on the contrary, in the first half we made them look decent. But, it was about a result after the poor results recently and we got that!
  12. I had actually forgotten that unless you were one of the 26,000 who attended the game you are not entitled to an opinion on this message board, do forgive me. Also, had forgotten that unless you see the game through yellow and green tinted glasses and cream over the performance and the managerial abilities of Neil Adams rather than comment on what you actually see and try to give a balanced and realistic view, then your opinion is also not valid. So, with this in mind, I have just watched a recording of the match and am delighted to report that I need to change my view on the match. O''Neil was even better than I thought he was (so why wasnt he played before!!!!), as was Redmond and Jerome too. But, other than that, yes, what I saw compared very closely to the first time I watched it. Now, and I maybe in the minority, but I believe that we are playing well below our potential, at a slow pedestrian tempo, and when we should be dominating this division we are actually just one of many "contender''s". Oh, and I dont expect every performance to be fantastic, and thought about all of that before I posted.
  13. Jim, the result was certainly better, but the performance was very average, other than a quality player finishing and maybe a 15 minute spell where we at last played with a bit of a higher tempo. Redmond was great, he is putting in a lot of work and could ultimately be the difference for us this season.
  14. You can certainly take either side of this argument and give good reasons in support, either way it neither proves or otherwise Neil Adams tactical mastery. The way to do this, is to probably look at the season so far in its entirety, and if you do that, then even the biggest fan of "Neilo" would have to say that the jury is still out. Particularly, if you look at the strength of the squad we have, and how they have severely under performed against some very mediocre teams so far. But, as I say, the jury is still out, the next two games will probably be the best test tactically so far this season.......
  15. Being an expat I was not at the game tonight - BUT still entitled to an opinion, so before you say something Buh! Immediately after the game a mate called me as he was waking away from the match to his car, and amazingly we both saw the same match and had similar opinions on it. A great 3 points and certainly well deserved! However, we really do not look like we are going to claim an automatic spot, which this squad should. Why? Can everyone not see that we have a lot of quality players who just are not performing to their potential and that the team just are not playing a quick enough game, almost playing at the pace of each inferior side we play. It was OK in patches, but for most of the time ploddy, predictable and boring. But, it''s still early days....isnt it??? OMG I dared be a little negative after we have had a win!
  16. Many thanks for the report Ricardo. For me it was great to watch the match from beginning to end uninterrupted and without it being on a crappy stream. Great 3 points, yes we did dominate...BUT...we do play sooo slowly and once again under performed against a very average side there for the taking. Yes O''Neil played well, but his tackling reminds me a bit of Paul Scholes and I thought we saw a Howson now settling in and who should now be a must start when fit. Its clear that for us to get an automatic place come the end of the season, NA needs to get the team set-up better and playing with more intensity, but still early days I guess.
  17. Its great news as we were failing to score with the old balls, maybe this will bring in a change of luck for us!
  18. "RVW would have scored 20+ goals this season" But simmo, based on that he should have scored something like 4 or 5 by now with St. Etienne in a league probably at a similar level to where we are right now. We already have two strikers who have scored more than that even with them both having a barren spell. What I think we all agree, is that we need him to do well and not fail so that we can stand a chance of getting most of the investment back.
  19. I was one of those who, for some unknown reason to myself, wanted RVW to stay this season as I thought he would "come good". BUT.....please lets be realistic........oh, I get it......its a thread designed to have yet another crack at CH despite him no longer being with the club, get over it.
  20. Aside of the current situation at our club and us not really knowing exactly what is up with the team right now, and if and when things will brighten up again with the goals rattling in or not for the rest of the season. It appears to me that what we are seeing is simply teams settling down and the league will gradually shape up, and who is to say that there will not be one or maybe more stand out teams by the time the new year comes along, hopefully we will have turned the corner and be the one or one of them. As for the EPL, I will be very happy if we go up again, expect to come down again within a few seasons, and if we get established, then thats fantastic.....................I just dont want this league every year, and I am sure the Board do not either!
  21. Yep, just like Snodgrass......a class act :-)
  22. City 2nd, one of the best responses I have read on here for a long time, that''s saying it how it is. But, I actually do see him being moved on, latest by the January window if we are not well positioned, the stakes are just to high for the club not to take necessary action. Personally, even though I did not agree with his appointment, I actually want him to succeed, prove me and a few others wrong, as we need stability....but not at the risk of not getting back in to the EPL for NEXT season. So, on answer to the question...YES, he is under huge pressure, more than the majority of the other managers in this division and rightly so.
  23. For me not one of your better offerings DB. Bringing in one player will not be the solution, just as making two or three changes vs Leeds was not the solution. Its about the team being prepared correctly and having the right tactics and mental state throughout 90 minutes to win matches, and this is simply down to "the management" who do seem to be struggling getting what is a great squad to perform to its potential or, at times close to its potential, despite it being clear the effort is being put in by all. I still am backing NA and his coaching team, and believe things will turn round very soon....
  24. Whether he ever plays again for us will certainly depend on who our manager is at the time he returns, if its NA then no chance I feel. Yes, Jim Smith, this loan is ridiculous and a major own goal...........still few will disagree which is a shame because its a glaring error. Maybe Hooper to Forest next....
