  1. Ironically they less silverware in their cabinet than us! For all those golden years for Boro in the 1990's and 2000's and the mutliple cup finals they reached, they never turned up in any of them...!
  2. Middlesbrough in 2014/15 was an epic. We got battered 4-0 at their place Lost 0-1 at Carrow Road, one of the dirtiest and gamesmanship-filled matches for a long time. Dani Ayala burning any bridges he had left with Norwich by giving it large at Full Time to the Barclay Despite leading most of the match from Hooper's volley after Grabban is sent off for a punch, we choke at Rotherham in the final five minutes to draw 1-1, meanwhile Boro think they've done enough to draw at Craven Cottage to take their race for 2nd until the final matchday, until Ross McCormack scorees a pen in the last minute for 4-3 Fulham (Notable mention to agent Michael Turner who scored that day whilst on loan from us...!). Both teams now all-but condemned to Play Offs after Bournemouth's game in hand. The stars align: Boro draw 0-0 against Brighton and and we finally manage to beat bogey team Fulham 4-2 in the final round of matches. We get scum in play offs. we turn it up against Scum in the 2nd leg and win 4-2 on agg. in the Play-off semis. Boro fans, Karanka and their former players give it large in the days leading up to the game given we had shipped five goals against them this season. Despite this, the bookies made us slight favourites. On the big day out,: Jerome proper mugged off Ayala for 1-0. two minutes later after a passing masterclass Redmond doubles the lead. In the first 15 minutes, we took all wind out of their sails, and we played them off the park. and 3 years later after we are promoted and relegated, and so are Middlesbrough, we were both back in the Championship.
  3. They have had some questionable business in the transfer market during the past few windows, and probably the right time in the season to sack him before the World Cup, and while they still have matches against Leicester, Nottingham Forest, Brentford etc. Nunes could be a good young player for them but hasn't settled yet. Hwang He-Chan looked dynamite for Wolves when he was only on loan from RB Leipzig, since he's got his contract he looks like he's half the player. I think Wolves are still not over the sale of Jota to Liverpool, it takes a long time to replace such a prolific player who created a large percentage of their chances, a bit like when we offloaded Buendia to Aston Villa. They have been desperately unlucky with the serious injury to Raul Jimenez as well. Every time he looks to be coming back to fitness since, he gets minor injuries. signing Kalajdžić and Costa as short-term fixes are certainly a backward step.
  4. His lunch consisting of a Bacon Sandwich? 🐷🐷 😂
  5. Yes he never seemed the same player. He was soon shipped out by Sir Alex around the time they got Ruud Van Nistelrooy in, yet Cole was fortunate and still enjoyed a long spell in the Premier League with multiple mid-table clubs after exiting Man Utd.
  6. Andy Cole is worth an honourable mention too. He was dynamite for years with Newcastle and later Man Utd, but simultaneously terrible for England during that period.
  7. Plenty of bang-average players over the years who have managed to nick a handful of caps. Off the top of my head: Leon Osman Jay Bothroyd Steven Warnock Ryan Shawcross Jon Flanagan Carlton Cole David Dunn Out of those listed above the most annoying is probably Osman. Roy Hodgson never gave Holt a run-out when he had form as he was "too old", yet he gave Osman a go when they are the same age...
  8. Not suprised, football is typically used as a platform to show discontent, often boiling over due to lots of factors from outside of football and current affairs. Discontent with the Government's reaction to Corona virus, lock downs, Travel strikes, Energy Prices etc. has not helped.
  9. The only reason they virtue signal with armbands etc is to try and make themselves feel better and justify playing football there, despite knowing they are totally 100% in the wrong doing so. Same with China and their ethnic cleansing regime of Uyghurs. How can anyone be crooked enough to take a wage from these warped Administrations?
  10. The thing is there are Republican candidates that are even comical than Trump and/or DeSantis. Just look at that list...! https://www.oddschecker.com/politics/us-politics/us-presidential-election-2024/republican-candidate Likewise there are some candidates within the Democratic party which make Sleepy Joe look untouchable.
  11. The bidding nations should have opted to boycott the 2022 World Cup immediately after the corruption allegations were acknowledged. All those bidding nations (England, USA, Mexico, Australia, Japan, Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Netherlands, South Korea) should have been strong, stuck together and held their own tournament, or friendlies in lieu of.
  12. Replays should be kept for the benefit of the teams in the lower leagues.
  13. No mention either of when she duetted with Freddie Mercury singing Barcelona 👎
  14. Was Rudy Guiliani not available for this one? 😂
  15. I recall last year Matt Le Tissier was on TV talking about VAR and said exactally this! He also said if 100 random video clips of corners where the phase of play resulted in a goal were viewed by VAR, nearly all of them could easily be subjectively overruled due to the over-analysis and pedantic nature in which the way VAR is implemented in the Premier League, basically looking for any contact during the corner kick that could be regarded as a "soft foul" as justification for chalking off goals. BTW The decision against West Ham is one of the worst I have ever seen. Maybe only second to when Cameron Jerome's overhead goal was ruled out against Crystal Palace a few years back...!
  16. Given the absolute state of the economy and the dire situation with the spiraling costs of living, I wouldn't be shouting this from the rooftops.
  17. They had a handful of decent players too that are still playing in PL/Championship, and in Scotland. Luke Ayling, Kiefer Moore, Shane Duffy, Wayne Hennessey, Tom Lawrence, John Lundstram https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013–14_Yeovil_Town_F.C._season
  18. If we are talking those who played for the First Team then no doubt it has to be Harry Kane. If we are talking in general, it has got to be David Beckham 😂 http://www.ex-canaries.co.uk/players/beckham.htm https://www.edp24.co.uk/sport/norwich-city/tale-of-former-england-captain-david-beckham-coming-close-to-1002342
  19. https://m.skybet.com/football/manager-specials/event/30147297 Some comical candidates on there... sadly our list would probably be the same (plus Russell Martin 😂) if Dean were to leave for whatever reason.
  20. "We had the better team on paper. Unfortunately for us, football is played on grass, not paper..." - Brian Clough Or the Norwich version: "Don't count your chickens!" - Delia Smith
  21. Ultimately we want to be in the Premier League with the big boys. One would like to think that the club could look entirely different in three years' time now we have Mark Attanasio at the table, and the South American players coming in.
  22. Parker: Unlucky son, you've finally won a game for Bournemouth, ironically its when you're not on our books no more lol Cantwell: .... f*** off Scotty
  23. ICYMI yesterday: Mike Dean effectively admits that he as VMO of the VAR for that match got it wrong, and it was a Violent Conduct offence worthy of a red card: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/62596652
