Football ....Average wages
curly_whirly_tipz replied to paul moy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Makes me so envious - A championship player earns in 1 week what I earn in a year!! I am a nursing student and when on placement work 7am-730pm. Footballers... oh the life! Train for a few hours and jobs a goodun! Perhaps I should become a footballers wife.... -
3-1 - I didnt see all of the 2nd half but QPR came out much brighter. Still, I am delighted they lost!

I have never left a game early I dont think in the 14 years I have had my season ticket BUT if you leave early perhaps consider this... I sat in my Mum and Brothers seat yesterday in Jarrold stand (opposed to my usual seat in the N&P upper). I had to get away quickly yesterday so once Holt scored the penalty we walked down and sat in some seats right by the exit where some fans had already left and then once the final whistle went we were able to get out quickly. A win win situation! -

I agree with this post. Everyone is entitiled to an opinion but this is the best season in years and so far imo we have exceeded expectation. Sit back and enjoy the ride! Onwards and Upwards! -
I partly agree with Lincoln Canary... I wouldnt use the words underdogs but we are a newly promoted side and I think this game was seen as an easy 3 points against a team who are fighting desperately for a win to get out of the drop zone. IMO any game is a must win game. Yes we want to beat the likes of Swansea/QPR etc etc BUT to get a point against Liverpool and im sure there will be some more suprises like that to come also play a huge part in our premier survival battle!
-
Yes 3 points were expected against a bottom of the table side, and yes we didnt play as well as we are capable however to go 3-1 down 8 minutes before time and to get a point was a great acheviement whether it is seen as luck or not. There will always be games where we dont play so well. We are still sitting comfortably in 8th and Blackburn havent gained any points on us - the difference is the same as it was before kick off. Lets look forward now to Aston Villa - a middle of table club just below us. With tradition in mind we have more chance in this game than trying to pick 3 points against the teams at bottom of table..
-
Certainly a good dilema to have (Jackson was also excellent when he came on yesterday too - and when Vaughn is fit more options...). Not sure what Lambert will do for Villa - at the end of the day there will always be games where we dont play as well etc and we cant expect to have exceptional performances every game. Norwich notoriously seem to give a less sharp performance against the bottom clubs for some reason which is something that should be addressed (or maybe its just coincidence).

Penalty - Divine retribution?
curly_whirly_tipz replied to yellow blood's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
As others have said you win some you lose some. Certainly a clearer penalty than when Barnett conceeded a penalty outside the box! I almost felt slightly sorry for Blackburn - with 8 minutes to go they must have thought their luck was turning... However Norwich''s never say die attitude (and luck today) has certainly worked to our advantage. TBH I was glad when Johnson got just the 1 goal back as I thought that GD could have been vital at end of season. -
From a Balckburn perspective its unlucky, from our prespective its lucky! He didnt look as though he knew where the ball was and bet he is kicking himself for trying to appeal for a free kick which clearly didnt work in his favour!

Agreed all of the subs were fantastic when they came on yesterday. It goes without saying that a strong subs bench is just as important as a strong starting 11. Lambert has got his tatics right once again. I guess yesterday was always going to be like that... Look at last season - Donny and Preston. Looked at as easy games and concequently our game isnt as good as normal! I expect a all round better performance next week, although I dont think we played badly yesterday, just not as sharp as we have been in previous games. -
I agree with FOX...
curly_whirly_tipz replied to Canaries Utd's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
However it is great to see Fox saying he thinks there is still much more to improve on. Onwards and Upwards! OTBC! -

For me the team improved significantly when Fox came on. We have scored a number of goals from set pieces which have been delivered by him. -
Predictions for Blackburn?
curly_whirly_tipz replied to """""""""Ben """"""""""" 's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
A tough tough game today - can see it being either quite scrappy or end to end stuff. I dont make set predictions. I am optimistic of us clinching 3 points but I dont think its gonna be easy! -
I have never noticed that. That is quite strange imo but obviously hasnt made much of an impact on me as I have never noticed!

Sorry no Mrs Miggins we didnt win lol - but it felt like we did lol! A point at Liverpool cant be bad and picking up points/wins elsewhere :) I guess the phrase if it aint broke to fix it (as someone else posted somewhere) may have fitted better... -

curly_whirly_tipz replied to curly_whirly_tipz's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Im not sure either but if they advertise on website about it next week then I am sure they will be there for msot of morning. The started just after 10:30 today and finished bout 12. There was quite a lot of people there - prob due to half term - but the players were all obliging to sign things etc. -
Interesting read- thanks for posting

Pretty certain it will remain the same - no point changing a winning team imo. -

Thanks for all of your replies. I am just back from the training ground - got pretty much everyone to sign my shirt including Lambert and Culverhouse. Just awaiting Ward, Vaughn and Ayala to be fit to get them too! Got Whitbread too - he was training alone. Definately worth a visit if you want signed memrobillia! -
Enjoy your day when you decide where your off too! Its always a great day out (Even going all them miles to Swansea last season and losing 3-0!)
-
Totally agree - this Saturday is going to be as tough as any other. It unfortunately also has the added pressure as there is more expectation to win. However I am still confident we can get 3 points in the bag!
