If Dean Smith were to get sacked in the coming weeks,
priceyrice replied to TESCO's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I have no idea who tbh but for me it needs to be a motivator, someone who will give the players a real kick up the **** and have a bit of passion. Pretty much someone who is the complete opposite to Smith. -
Dean Smith "we're hard to beat"
priceyrice replied to GodlyOtsemobor's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Farke was this disillusioned at the end, I doubt Smith is making it past September but I suspect that will be far too late for us to try and push for a top 2 finish. I'm estimating we will be 15 points behind the leaders come 1 October. -
Statistically, we have 1 point out of 9! We must be one of the only clubs around were a large chunk of our fan base is happy to accept such a shower of ****
-
I was all for giving Smith 10 games. I agreed with the removal of Farke but was not happy with his replacement. Unfortunately we have clearly gone backwards as a club. Ignoring the horrendous signings, which I think at this point we can all agree is about 40m wasted for league 1 standard signings, Smith is still unable to get a tune out of our players, the majority of which have won promotion. There's only so many unlucky results you can have, we have a built in propensity for lossing at the moment and I don't believe Smith is the manager to lose that mind set. I cannot see any reason to wait for 10 games as at that point a top 2 finish will be a pipe dream. We need to replace Smith ASAP and we need to find a Webber replacement before January, any other decision will mean we continue to waste money as one of the richest clubs in the championship as we cement ourselves as a bang average championship team like Hull. Thank you Webber for ruining our football club, grad A job... now please **** off up your mountain

Anyone still happy with the Webber and Smith combo? Giving us 10 games to see a turn around will be far too late, should we just accept mid table this year?
-
Anyone but Webber and his lapdog Smith
-
You are literally half the problem. We are one of, if not, the wealthiest cash rich clubs in the championship but we are all seeing the result of Webber's transfers over a several year period. Anyone who cannot see this is contributing to the problem.
-
How he is still at our club is beyond me. Makes our squad weaker year on year, hires a joke of a manager, disrespects the fans and our club and is still somehow in a job. See you all in a couple of years time, I am off to follow women's football
-
Haha that would be ideal! Used to park at my parents house in bishopsgate but they also had the nerve to move without considering my football parking needs! May try Adam and Eve actually but guess that fills up really quickly as well.
-
Sorry I meant the car park. I've been fine getting into the ground last season. Hopefully the new season tickets all work this year!
-
Cheers. How is it getting in pre kick off? Much of a queue? Suspect getting out is a nightmare but that's going to be the same everywhere
-
Just wondering if anyone has any tips for parking near Carrow Rd on a match day? Not had to park near the ground for a while so not sure where is best these days. I think the last time I used the NCP parking behind the station.

Score predictions: Wigan (h)
priceyrice replied to Pyro Pete's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
One of the easiest games of the season on paper. If we can't win this we are in serious trouble. 4 0 City or my bed sheet is coming out -
Lots of people writing off Sargent...

The TalkNorwichCity boys and Alan Nixon seem to have it on good authority we were also offered him for 4m at the start of the window which we didn't take up and we ended up paying 8m later in the window as we got desperate. Another Webber transfer masterclass. I personally wouldn't spend 400k on him and I think we can all see why the fans of his previous club were laughing when we purchased him. Genuinely no better than Marley Watkins. -
Fantastic game to watch and what a result. Well done the lionesses. Will admit to not having watched that much women's football before this tournament, but the tournament and this final will have me following, at least on the international level, a lot closer. Enjoyed watching this game far more than any Norwich game over the past year. Hope Norwich start taking the female game more seriously as well.

Here's a theory: Farke massively over achieved
priceyrice replied to Petriix's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
This is the sporting director model. I am sure I recall Farke saying in his early days he didn't want to be involved with transfers and the bigger picture stuff and wanted to focus on coaching. I'm sure he identifies positions and type of player he wants for the squad but he doesn't go out and scout the players or take control of any negotiations. -
Sliding so far back
priceyrice replied to Dean Coneys boots's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Can't argue with any of this. What annoys me the most is that we've had an opportunity over the past 2 seasons to spend more money on our squad than ever before, but we've still managed to make it weaker while having to try and rely on previous rejects who are now back from loans. Our squads over the past 5 seasons had players who had some value. We've virtually sold all of them and now just left with Aarons (whose stock has also fallen considerably) and Omo. -
Not sure why anyone is surprised here. Webber has been making our starting 11 weaker season by season, we are now reliant on returning loanees to provide something as our signings from last season don't look like footballers. 1 shot on target all game, playing 10 men and its just like Newcastle all over again. Smith's style of football makes Hughton's style seem orgasmic. Pukki now injured, Hanley sent off so one fit senior CB left in our squad. Us as fans need to do something as our club is getting killed in front of our eyes and we seem happy just to watch it happen. Mid table mediocrity here we come.

Will Norwich City Follow Suit ?
priceyrice replied to TIL 1010's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Can't see us doing this and having away fans pay half the price the home fans pay. Club then won't be able to justify the season ticket price either. -
Living in Norfolk, is there a way to listen on your phone? I know you can't on the bbc app, but is there a radio app or another way to get it locally? I know you can get it if you had a radio or in the car but wondered if there is a work around using your phone? In the prem it wasn't a big issue as every game was televised so you could always find a stream and being back in the championship I had hoped to use ifollow and a VPN, but it sounds from this thread that that won't be an option this year.

Tzolis to Bruges (loan to buy)
priceyrice replied to Canary Wundaboy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
It's a funny one with Tzolis, there was excitement when we signed him as we were told by the club he was one of the brightest young talents in Europe who Webber had been tracking when at Liverpool and that we had beaten off a host of clubs to sign him. We were also told that we needed to be patient with him and was one for the future. In hindsight, I'm sure everyone would agree it was the wrong signing for last year, we needed proven talent ready to make a mark that season. However, you could also say we were using our position as a premier league club to build for the future with a young player who would be a long term asset for us. Now, if we are looking to get rid of him to recoup most of the sum paid (I also suspect we may want to limit his game time due to performance related bonuses on the transfer fee), the club, in my opinion, is essentially either saying that we got it seriously wrong with the scouting and he is nowhere near as good as we thought and he wouldn't make a difference to the team again this year or next, or the player has made it very clear he doesn't want to be here and we have agreed to cut our losses and potentially lose a long term asset. Whilst I would say our scouting has been much more miss than hit over the last 3 seasons, I struggle with the fact that we could have gotten it so wrong with Tzolis. If we are getting rid, we need to recoup as much money as we can this summer, I don't see how a loan with an option or obligation to buy really helps, as we need the money to invest now. For me, I would be inclined to give him a try this season and see how he does in a team dominating possession. If he comes good, we have a big asset on our hands on a long term contract. If it isn't working out by January, look to ship him out then.
