1. What''s wrong with a spine of CB:Turner DM:Johnson/Fox CM/ACM:Howson ST:Holt ????? Amount of negativity of this site is unreal. Jeez.
2. I still think Vaughan is that man. Pace to burn and can finish. I know he has fitness issues but if we keep him fit i think he''ll get 10+ goals this year. Personally i think a duo of Holt/Vaughan or Moro/Vaughan when Holty needs a rest would be very effective.
3. 1. Man City 2. Man United 3. Spurs 4. Arsenal 5. Chelsea 6. Liverpool 7. Newcastle 8. Everton 9. Sunderland 10. Aston Villa 11. Stoke City 12. Fulham 13. QPR 14. NORWICH CITY 15. West Ham 16. Wigan 17. Southampton 18. Reading 19. West Brom 20. Swansea Few weird ones in there for me but you never know...
4. Yes.. I was very excited about Surman. I knew how good he was. Some people just can''t tell the difference between the roles of a winger and a wide midfielder. Plus one of Surman''s biggest problems is mentally he''s too far ahead of some of his team-mates.. Continuity is there now though.
5. I''ve never rated him if i''m honest. Plus he seems a bit deluded with his own ability. I''m sure i read somewhere he wanted to move only to a top 6 club after playing European football with Celtic which we all know the SPL is nowhere near PL standard. Not better than what we have IMO. Would be disappointed if he signed but i''d back him.
6. ""but after reading the article i''m now a bit more scepticle at the information released by people "in-the-know" welcome aboard" That wasn''t aimed at anyone on here. I meant SSN/BBC/Eurosport, etc.... If agents, players, clubs, etc are manipulating the use of press, etc, to increase bids and wages you have to take it with a bit more salt. Still love all the rumours and that though. Without them the transfer window would be dull and everyone would moan nothing is going on....
7. If you don''t get it i would suggest getting Four Four Two. There is a 4/5 page piece in the latest issue about transfers. It talks to a player, a CEO, Agent, Tabloid and a Sunday paper journalist and talks about how transfer stories are released. Discusses the lies, deceit, fake offers, etc.. that clubs, agents, players, etc, make up to get bids increased, wages increased, new deals, new offers, etc... Very interesting read. But this could be the same.. Nothing much from Norwich because they want this to happen but Leeds confirming could just have been to get an increased offer from elsewhere so they get more money.. Not saying it is but after reading the article i''m now a bit more scepticle at the information released by people "in-the-know"
8. Does anyone know of anywhere you can get odds on how many goals a player will score or is it something you get upon request? I know some people got odds on Holt to get 10/15+ last year so must be somewhere to do it... Thanks
9. The three signing i was most excited by last season was Ayala, Vaughan and R Bennett. Those two at centre half will only continue to develop. Ayala in the few games he did have i thought looked solid, had a good touch about him and a clever defender. He looked a little sluggish at times but i think that was lack of games. Bennett just got better, but had a few dodgy moments which were purely getting used to a higher level and adapting so he can still only get better. Vaughan i think if kept fit and playing off Holt could get us 10 goals at least this year. Pace is a big thing in this league and he has it to burn. Not weak either. Add to that Howson who looks like he could be a better version of Wes in terms of creativity; this year is looking to be even better than last!
10. Korey - I think he may be more involved but with the amount of midfielders we have he may find it tough to get ahead of Johnson, Howson, Butterfield, et al.. I think he''s got the ability to do it though. Likely - stay and compete Francomb - Unlikely to play much, decent back up but probably needs a season at Championship level. As someone else has said though, it''ll be dependent on who comes in at full back. Likely - Loan Adeyemi - Lambert said that he''d have been involved last season if we had been in the Championship again. Having been a League Two a couple of years ago and League One last year he probably could do with a year at Championship level as well. Although if Hughton thinks he''s good enough he may end up on the bench pushing for a place. If it isn''t this year i think he''ll be a big player for us in the future. Likely - Loan
11. Personally, i wouldn''t mind to see him on a cheap pay-as-you-play deal for one year.. It''d have to be a very cheap one though!
12. I know through speaking to a former Norwich player that this still happens and some of the make an absolute fortune from it and knowing when to bet against themselves etc.. They''ll never stop it.
13. A player i''ve always liked and i''d be thrilled to see him here! However, i think his wages would be too far out of our range. I reckon he''d want 40-60k minimum. Guessing of course!
14. Ruddy Martin Ayala Bennett Tierney Fox Johnson Bennett Howson Pilkington Vaughan
15. A player i would love to see us sign. I think he has a big future ahead of him and his link with Rob Fleck may help us sign him i guess (equally as likely to not as well). On a free i think he''s someone we should definitely be in for!
16. I would definitely take him on a free! I''d have paid for him too. Only stumbling block would be his wages. But a duo of him and Holt could be great.
17. The board WILL NOT let Ruddy go at the moment and i think he knows how well he can develop here. As for the fee, give it a couple more years and more England call ups and you''re nearer 10+m.
18. I must admit i''d love to do something like the Emirates Cup!
19. Yes i am going but only because i got a free ticket... Thought i might have seen Holty score and Wembley but it was not to be :(
20. Firstly, he wouldn''t take that big of a wage cut. Just wouldn''t happen in this day and age. Secondly, you have to remember that he is English. Due to quality English players being so rare and with the home grown rules and all that stuff, there is a bigger premium on them PLUS the cost for their current ability and their potential. That''s why Henderson cost Liverpool however many million (16 or 18?) and Carroll 35 (though deadline day also helped that). The fee for him when signed by MCFC was around 7 million. Now, after more development, being praised by the top pundits, plus the fact he will go on to be an England player he would cost in the region of 15-25 million in this inflated market. No chance in hell of us affording him. There is outside chance we could get him on loan but MCFC would still have to pay a fair whack of his wages!
21. Seems a weird one and we''re so much higher in the league than any of their other friendlies so far. I''d imagine this is part of a deal relating to setting up a scouting set-up down there. Either way, great to know one of our friendlies! Can''t wait until the whole list is released!
22. Lambert to play. Drury to end up player as a striker. A last minute penalty for a dive from Hucks for Drury to smash home after agreeing with Fraser Forster which way they''re going to dive/shoot.
23.

On a slight aside, I am considering selecting a retro shirt to wear tonight (If it still fits me lol) and am struggling to remember which one we had when we signed Drury, any statto geeks help me out here?
It was the Colman''s shirt, he signed in March 2001Would be great to have a game where everybody brought/wore all their old shirts, scarfs and ''retro'' stuff - though it might isolate a fair few who have no such ''medals''
I would wear my Colman''s shirt but i was only 9... Not sure it''ll fit me now!! Hard to believe Drury''s been here for nearly all the years i''ve been coming. Really deserves this night, don''t think we''ll see many more!
