  1. The summer before the Farke sacking. Webber threw their 'philosophy' out of the window in an attempt to be more competitive. It's obviously failed and we've been chasing losses ever since. Step up Ben Knapper. At least he starts with a nice training ground.
  2. Or we could sign him as a player, we'll finally have the DM we've been waiting for.
  3. Being without 3 of our ideal front 4 (including Sainz) isn't helping but it's clear our main problem is the defensively soft midfield.
  4. Todd himself also mentions that he's a lot more sensible now which is obviously an admission that he hasn't always been. Clearly more to this than big bad Webber not liking a player.
  5. I always got the impression that contracts are were were the main reason relationship between Cantwell/his agent and Webber never really got going. That being said a workmate's sister went to school with him and he was apparently always a bit of a billy big **** 'do you know who i am?' type. I'd imagine that this interview is full of half truths.
  6. I don't think it's too much of a mystery why. Wagner wants more physicality and energy in his midfield, not really qualities Nunez brings to the table.
  7. Wages more than doubling probably a pretty good motivator even if that was the case. What we're missing right now isn't a hunger anyway, it's our 2 best strikers.
  8. Yup, he's just saying the result was a painful one to take.
  9. It's clearly heading towards an East Anglian Derby in the playoff final.
  10. Blackburn away last season is probably the best evidence we have for him in the second striker position. Certainly has the smarts and energy for it. I can see some argument for Nunez to take the 10 spot but Gibbs is clearly more of a Wagner player in that position.
  11. It's almost as if the transfer window is shut and half of our strikers are injured.
  12. Fair enough, I guess my brain just doesn't compute with anyone (that isn't a uni student) willingly going to Spoons on anything other than a match day. Doesn't really change the sentiment of my post though.
  13. I'd suggest that some of the attitudes you'd encounter far more frequently in your youth are significantly less moral than a bit of vulgar language in a pub before a football match. Swings and roundabouts.
  14. We've got a chap who goes through a minimum of two hotdogs a game, he puts a lot of money into the club's coffers over the course of a season that's for sure. Knowledgeable guy when it comes to the sport though and always nice to see him when the new season comes around. When I was a kid we had a grandfather and grandson in front of us that will always stick out in my memory. The kid would spend almost the entire game playing Fifa on a PSP. The grandfather was never annoyed by this though and would sometimes, almost proudly, point out the teams he was beating to people sitting around him - 'he just beat Liverpool'. That would have been the Grant or Roeder era so maybe the kid had the right idea.
  15. As fun as that would be I don't think so. He's got a good thing going at Towen and if it came to that they'd give him a nice new deal to keep him I'm sure.
