1. Almost no first team experience, but plenty of Spain youth team games and has won the u19s as an ever present. Can''t be bad as long as we remember he''s still a kid at 21 years old.
2. Wow cheers Wiz. I have some chips if you''d like to p!ss on them too.
3. Higuain for me. He scored 9 qualifying goals to Messi''s 10, however he has much better odds. Argentina will play the maximum games by getting at least to the semis, and I think will win it. And Higuain now tends to play centrally with Messi on the left and Aguero on the right. 7 games for him to get the golden boot with world class support.
4. Winners: ArgentinaEngland overall: Knocked out in quarters by BrazilEngland vs Italy: 0-0England vs Uruguay: 1-1England vs Costa Rica: 3-0Golden boot: HiguainPlayer of the tournament: MessiI think Argentina have the best attacking options with three true world class forwards all likely to start and a world class midfielder in Di Maria. Defensively they are merely ok, but then again so are their main rivals Brazil.England will struggle through the group and pip Uruguay on goal difference as I think Italy will put a couple past them. Rooney will finally score at the World Cup against Uruguay and win his head to head against Suarez who will struggle with poor support from average midfielders. Spain will be the tournaments disappointments and go out in the quarters also, ending their golden era.Chile will be the suprise package and get as far as the semis. Germany will also do well, despite Reus being out. Ozil and Muller will show their class and Klose will be a bit part player, but come on as a sub and break the goal scoring record. Portugal also to to do suprisngly well, with Ronaldo showing his class.
5. Friendlies are almost meaningless, played in second gear at best. All teams turn it up for competitive games. Also Honduras seemed intent on kickin lumps out of the England players at every opportunity and killing the game with negativity. And the thunderstorm didn''t help. In a tournament England would beat them (well struggle for seventy minutes before knocking a couple in).
6. Adrian Chiles seems to me like a bloke who one day walked infront of a camera and started talking. Nobody stopped him and since then everyone has been to embarrassed to do anything about it. How did he ever get employment in the media, let alone the top job?!
7. He scored no goals for the German side and two for Millwall since finally leaving us what, 18 months ago? He''s not exactly been setting the world alight. He had one spell of form for us towards the final stages of the promotion season and got some really important goals, but the rest of the time he was below average. So, I''m ooot.
8. Cheers Alex, it''s really good to read the opinion of of a proper Bournemouth fan. I hope we can keep Surman, but if he''s done well down there and wants to join them I''m sure this deal will help oil the wheels of business. Also I assume the signing of Grabban means talks are already in place to shift either RvW or Hooper, but probably both. Also he writes that in a 4-4-2 Grabban played well of a target man, as well as alone. I wonder who we need to sign to fulfil that role if need be, assuming that Becchio is also on his way out. Wilbrahimovic had been released last time I saw!
9. Fair play Jamar, well done. However the cynical part of me says this is Jamaica claiming him by capping him. Hedging their bets so they have him should be become good.
10. There''s always a surprise team, which this year I believe could be Portugal. Ronaldo already proved he can play under pressure in big games by his hattrick against Sweden to get them qualified, and isn''t it now two Champions League finals he''s scored in, plus a ridiculous scoring record in domestic big games. However as I said they''re still my outside bet, Argentina with the best overall strike force including three world class strikers and a world class winger is where I''m placing my money.
11. Argentina or Brazil are the obvious favourites, and I''d bet on Messi and co causing an upset by winning in their big rivals backyard. But Portugal are my outsid bet. They have the worlds best player, possibly ever, and are ranked three in the world. Brazil also has a similar climate which counts for a lot.
12. Rickie Lambert is one of my favourite players. Not only is he an excellent striker but he also seems a top bloke. He''s admitted he''s living his dream and seems to be loving every moment. Now he''s joined his boyhood club and is going to the World Cup. Doesn''t get any better than that. Fair play to you Rickie, let''s hope you get some proper game time next season, and in Brazil.
13. Wow, quoting using a phone doesn''t work very well. Mods! Sort out the coding. Smart phones aren''t a new thing!
14.

Assuming we sell Ruddy then clearly Bunn would be our No1 with Rudd as the No2.
Is that clear?
Yes. What''s your point? Bunn is clearly the most experienced of the two, the most senior, and better at this point in time.
15. Good find Grantsmoustache. Bentley comes across as an utter peni$ in that interview. He''s basically a lazy guy who just wanted to mess about with his mates AND get paid £50k a week to do it. But the poor lamb didn''t like the training and analytical sports science side, or working hard to improve. The last I heard about him before this was he had tried to get a contact with QPR last summer but they wouldn''t pay him the money he wanted, he wouldn''t budge on his demands so didn''t sign. He''s been in limbo ever since and now seems to be pretending he has fallen out of love with it all. Sounds like he''s sulking to me.
16. Ah the yearly Bendter thread. It''s all irrelevant as he has clearly stated he would only leave Arsenal for Real Madrid or Barcelona. Bless him.
17. Assuming we sell Ruddy then clearly Bunn would be our No1 with Rudd as the No2. Bunn is a very decent ''keeper and deserves a shot now. Remember back to the ''Ruddy isn''t good enough'' threads a mere three years ago!
18. Persuading Surman to play next season would be like having a new signing. One who is proven at this level and in his prime, and has done well for us in the past. No brainer for me.
19. Obviously the financial fair play rules are a token gesture by the governing bodies. They monetised it to benefit financially themselves when teams break the rules rather than impose punishments that actually do affect the club by relegating them, taking away trophies etc. Until clubs are refused promotion, relegated, kicked out of competitions altogether, or have serious transfer embargoes put in place it''s a sham. Fining ultra rich people relatively small amounts won''t stop clubs overspending massively, effectively cheating their way to success. Like Man City and QPR.
20. Jimmy I think we''re allowed at least a week to moan. Obviously we''ll all get behind Adams (well most will) but I think we''ll look back at this decision as one of the worst. We had a chance to bounce back whilst at our strongest but the board botched it.
21. We needed experience and proven ability. A track record of over achieving. The guy who can get us out of this league at he first time of asking whilst we have the money to keep hold of at least some players. We''ve got the cheap option. A guy who was on the radio three years ago. Sure a decent bloke who could do well in the future when he''s learnt the job properly and gone through the ranks. But he''s not ready yet, not by a million miles. To say I''m disappointed with the promotion of Neil Adams to permanent first team Manager is an understatement. We will be the laughing stock of one of the most competitive Championships ever.
22. Cheers OP. The whole Cornelius debacle does worry me, I''d hate to see him buy in another RVW waste of space. But saying that he seems to me to be the correct and logical choice. But a potentially boring and definitely devisive manager too.
23.
£6m? Deal. If we don''t get promoted, he''ll still hold his value anyway. Hooper (and RVW if he stays) need someone to do the dirty work up there with them. Our main problems came trying to play one up front using them two.
If we went 4-4-2 in the Champ I actually think Elmander would be sensational as the bigger of two forwards doing the dirty work. I''d like to see us get him in permanently rather than keep RvW. Rotate him with Becchio, Hooper playing every week. We''d be a force. Never going to happen mind.   Maybe a return to the diamond? Hoolahan and Hooper running riot?   I''m not convinced we actually need to break the bank, we have the pieces of the jigsaw already.
24. It''s also down to the individual. I see Lennon and Malky as commanding respect as a manager, Zola less so although as a player obviously he is totally respected. Adams I see as slightly weaker as a personality, and was only a slightly above average player.   But the point you''re making is what type of football they''d offer. We all want to see attacking free flowing play, but at the expense of a poor defence? I say build from the back, which for me is Malky. In the Champ he''d know how to do this very well, and then there''s far more scope for his players to attack too in that league compared to the Prem. It''s not as if he''d set our team up every week as he did when Cardiff visited Carrow Road. Perhaps too many people are judging him on that.   Lennon has built a superb attacking outfit in the SPL, which to be fair is the only way Celtic should be playing against ridiculously inferior opponents every week, they look terrifying going forward sometimes. Could he inject some of that attacking philosophy at a club in a more level playing field?   Zola? Hmmmmm I''ve never been convinced. He''s high profile, but that''s it. Never over acheived anywhere which is what you want.
