1. Quite simply, if the club had not asked for the 2009/10 season ticket money until after he end of the last season and, "Oh, by he way, we want he same price as last year" how would you have felt then. Division Three prices are not the same as Division Two. Also, does Seat0123 think that a swift return to Division Two would not result in an immediate price hike - of course they would - so why shouldn''t it work the other way round?
2. The one position where a "loanee" is a good idea. Encourages Rudd and Steer and lets them see that they have time to develop without the barrier of a full-time quality keeper ahead of them. Good move imo.
3. No matter how many failed to claim their rebate we can be certain of a few things: 1) If more than half claim we won''t be given the figure because of the potenial loss of face and the fact that it will effectively be a vote of no confidence. 2) The one person in the club who won''t be seeing any of it will be Bryan Gunn. The money will be needed to needed to keep the creditors from the door. 3) The crucial tipping point for the club will come in February next year when season ticket renewals come round again. The future of the club could hinge on where we are in the league. What price will they set for the following season if we are languishing in mid-table (or worse)? How many of the 18,000 will renew again? The early sale of season tickets rescued them this year as, in reality, not many really believed we would go down back in February. 2010 will be a whole new ball game and they won''t have the "Good old Gunny" card to play this time round.
4. Sent for mine with the simple messge - Give me Championship football next season and I''ll pay you Championship prices next season. Now, if they had been smart they would have offered all those who didn''t claim the rebate no increase on ticket prices for TWO years irrespective of which league we are in.....
5. If they don''t tell us what rebates remain unclaimed it will be far easier to use the money to keep the banks from the door without having to divulge how bad the situation has become. Let''s not kid ourselves this money is going nowhere near the playing budget, not in terms of increasing it anyway. It will be used to shore up an ailing company who have overspent on mediocre talent where just a bit more ambition could have yielded so much more. Sadly the hog-tied nature of the loans taken out have ensured that money has had other more pressing homes such as interest repayments guaranteed against future season ticket sales.
6. Whem we were in the Premiership they had Premiership money to play with - they wasted it by not investing enough of it for fear of relegation. Result - relegation. Parachute payments for two years - wasted by inept, cheap option managers. Result - relegation. So, now we are Div 3 and they want me to give them another £70 so they can do what? What lessons have they learned? None. Believe me that money won''t be going anywhere near a transfer kitty it will be used to pay off debts to keep the club afloat. Oh, they''ll dress it up somehow with the usual "undisclosed" transfer fees, talk of "agents fees" etc but the bulk will simply disappear into the bank. I''ll give them £70 at THE END OF THE SEASON willingly if the board wake up to the priorities needed by this club, starting with a manager who doesn''t look like a rabbit in the headlights everytime he is faced with making a technical footballing decision for which he has no qualifications or experience. I don''t even necesarily expect to see them promoted or in the playoffs - just to see some signs that they have the merest clue about what a mess their ineptitude has caused. I''ve even though how I''ll make the contribution. I''ll buy the minimum £120 of shares.
7. Think of it like this. What you are paying, less the rebate is what Div 3 football is worth. If you give your rebate to these people who have proved themselves useless with money in the past what happens next year when we are still in Div 3? Will they come back again and ask for a further 20% donation? Don''t bet against it - and don''t give them the money back. If we do get promotion whose shares are going to be worth more money? Exactly, so let them fund the return to where we should be and increase their share value in the process.
8.

er... new stadium lol...
Not for a while though. I know a Brighton fan and apparently they aren''t due in Falmer till about 2011. They''re still at the Withdean till then unfortunately Southend haven''t moved yet either. Most clubs are still where they were when we last played them
No problem then - we''ll go in 2011!
9. As someone with experience of the way the Academy people think I can tell you many of the problems are caused by those above Academy level and speads to those below Academy at Player Development Centre level. All they are interested in is "big, strong athletes". OK, maybe at senior level to clog your way out of League 2 but is this the attitude we want at 12 and 13 years olds? How many people would continue wanting to invest in The Academy if they knew that this was the attitude? They are many lads who are now 14, 15 and 16 who have been rejected by the Colney Machine and are now being accpeted by clubs such as Peterborough, Ipswich, Colchester and even Cambridge while Colney continues chanting the mantra started by Nigel Worthington - "bring me big strapping athletes and I''ll teach them to kick a football". Talented, average sized players need not apply.
10.

" I do feel the club needs a bigger name i took over in a difficult situation, i was asked to keep the club up and i achieved that .I could have been selfish and stayed on but i felt it was best for the club for me to step down" Well said Ricky Sbragia , if only Mr Gunn wasnt so selfish.
Here is one for you. Mr Roeder (Tuesday night of this week): "I kept them up once and I think I would have done a second time but they decided otherwise." Discuss.
Roeder may well have been able to keep us up a second time but boy would he have let us know about it! Athough his football philosophy was proved to be seriously flawed his demise was far more to do with his attitude to football''s paying public which, for what it''s worth, I believe was as direct result of his disgusting treatment by West Ham supporters.
11. Bit harsh maybe, although I do have him down as one of group who thought they would get away if we were relegated and therefore claims joint ownership of the Damien Francis ("Please God don''t let us win this one") Trophy which was inaugurated at Fulham. As a matter of interest my other joint winners are David Marshall and Sammy Clingan.
12. I think the rebate should relate to LAST year''s dismal performance on the pitch. We were short changed in 2008/9 by a bunch of players who, by and large, couldn''t give a toss and by senior management who were at best inept. I would be happy to pay the full amount next season and, provided I received value for money in terms of effort on the pitch and leadership off it, they can keep the full amount.
13. Strikes me that Bryan Gunn is already in the same position as Nigel Worthington at the end of his tenure. Kept in place by a stubborn board, almost universally reviled and ridiculed and with a large section of supporters waiting to say "I told you so". Sadly, looking beyond his almost certain replacement before the end of the year we will be faced with Butterworth or Crook as a cheap replacement and the merry-go-round will start again. Face it, Delia will appoint who Delia wants to appoint and that person will always be the one who will says all the right things and comes cheap.
14. Unlikely - i think you''ll find that Colney is used to guarantee the loans from D & M. If this is the case selling it for the club''s benefit would not be in their best interests and, whatever one''s views on them, they don''t do things ahat are not in their best interests.
15. I paid my money for Championship football. They failed to deliver what I paid for. They should, instead, be writing to ask me not to cancel my season ticket.
16. ....close your eyes and remember that goal against Birmingham. Now ask yourself teh question again.
17. Whatever the reason, they need to resign themseleves to the fact that committing the season ticket money to guarantee bank loans was taking supporters for granted. My guess is that the vaste majority will ask for their money back and what''s left of the board will have a huge hole to fill. I don''t believe this "funds for players" story for one minute. The words "Chicken" and "Roost" spring to mind.
18. Want to know the big dfference? Ipswich shafted a whole bunch of local businesses by wiping out their debt and going into adminsitration. It cost hem nothing as the 10-point rule wasn''t in place. Thye wiped out years of similar mismanagemnt to Norwich at the expense of the community and then allowed a faceless profiteer to buy their debt from Norwich Union for a pittance and roll it back into the club. Would I want to follow a club like that - not really.
19. The original amount was for Championship football. How much better to take it now and offer it back to them when they achieve what it was paid for - get back to the Championship and they can have it back at the start of next season. Now, that''s an incentive.
20. He may be a nice guy to have on a golf day but football manager he ain''t! Sorry to upet the faithful but he''s not a Leg End and he certainly doesn''t have yellow and green blood.
21.
Welcome Bryan, lets get straight to our first caller, Arthur from Hellsdon........ Hello Bryan, ive got a problem with some green fly on my roses do ya have any suggestions??
"Well actually Arthur I do know more about greenfly than I do about managing a fotball team - but let me pass you over to Ian. Ian - have you ever had trouble with your flys?"
22. He''ll be out of the door before it''s stopped revolving from the exit of better players.
