1. i dont know why we want to walk it in the net, couple of crossing opportunities cut back.
2. +1 Cant have a number 9 where the ball just bounces back. Not asking him to turn people a la Drogba just have enough power to hold up and pass back.
3.
He gave us another masterclass again today, yet again he got his tactics spot on and the players gave a wonderful show that fair rolled the clock back. My worry now is a few more games like that and the bigger clubs will start to circle - do you reckon he''d stick with us if a big side came a-calling?
I actually think houghton is the best type of manager for Norwich as he is professional, stable and very well presented in his image and discourse. The football is pragmatic rather than entertaining so I doubt a very large club would come in for him so its will be a large club (but not massive) in crisis like Aston Villa or a Everton again. Billionaire owners want showbiz not dependability.......which means i think Houghton will leave to join the FA and become England manager if he manages to get a couple of top ten finishes.
4. tbf looks like standard pre season stuff rusty and a lot of hands on hips at half time. Very stressful when their CB decided to have a nibble with RVW .

6. I would think it would be hard to sell the club now for its actual value. Obviously its worth millions because of the tv revenues etc etc however there is not the upside of other clubs for example a leeds, sheffield Wednesday, Nottingham forest etc So what you have a club nearly at its peak income wise and any expansion may or not pay off (as we see from the board already re the stadium). consolidation will gradually see the wages creep up and it will take a lot of discipline to keep those wages down. Easy money Arabs and Russians love London mostly so it is unlikely they will want to buy Norwich for the hundreds of millions it may be worth. You also have to say a few key staff going and a relegation and the value plummets so the risk is very high. This article states about 90 million£ + and I would say thats about right without adjusting for the new tv deal which would bump it up significantly. Saying that I would never buy a football team to make money it seems like the best way it to buy a team get promotion and then bail out before the wages get out of hand and/or you get relegated.
7. What a horrendous game could not even steal it in the end. Despite being woeful all game we had the two best chances. Talk about limping over the line
8. KK looks knackered to me which is to be expected.
9. With the new TV deal literally every club in the league (even us) will be buying players for 8-15 million and paying over 40/50k a week+ to certain players. This means that these clubs will be able to attract all but the best international players and a few good buys allows you to have a competitive team. There will still be no chance of getting in the top 3 as Champions league football brings thing up another financial level but it does mean things getting brutal for the rest of the league and the top teams getting beaten more often. You cannot win with these big teams they pay 500 million on players and then moan that they need more. Loose a few games and the premier league is crap....
10. Just not good enough I am getting messages from all over the UK now 20 + years since a premier league club embarrassed themselves like this. We need more than a striker we need another 3-4 players we are pace-less and one dimensional. Hooper is not the answer and he would be making a mistake joining us at the moment I would forget about him at 5 million + We need another pacy CB to make three half decent ones, another agressive midfielder to push Tetty and Johnson as Howson is too lightweight and Fox does not seem to offer anything. Most of all we need someone to inject pace maybe not even a fast striker (though we do need someone), Hoolahan is a good player but when the ball comes to him the game slows down we either need someone (deep lying forward/attacking mid) who gets that ball from the midfield and then turns and injects pace and directness or turns and forces the issue with a pass. Faced with the scale of the rot I am seeing we need to spend 10-15 million £ to ensure we are not going to loose premier league status. No risk no reward.
11. Yes but also given the lower standard its not so sink of swim as in the premier league. If you buy a good player from the Championship it is more likely they will succeed there as its a lesser standard. I am concerned with Hooper I am sure he is good but considering QPR paid 8 million for Remy I dont see the value.
12. Celtic are a wonderful team where a large number of people come to watch them but then i am sure there are clubs in South America and Africa with tens of thousands of fans each game who win every single year. Celtic are the country Mansion, Norwich are the flat in West London yes the former should be more attractive but everyone wants to be in the latter as thats where the jobs are and you want to be seen. All this big club small club nonsense is just that nonsense supporters are just a revenue stream these days and a club with xx million from fans and x million from tv is smaller than a club with x million from supporters and xxx million from tv. Money is the easiest measure of size when it comes to players. Trophies are all well and good but given it costs 500 million £ + to win the premier league no team aside from Manchester Uniter, Manchester City or Chelsea will win it for the medium term thats the irony of "small club Norwich" we have just as good a chance of winning the league as Spurs, Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool etc etc...... 0 chance. Its so impossible that previous trophies might as well have been in a different sport such is their relevance to future success. So in Summary... Celtic are a better supported club than Norwich city from a larger city but as of next year we are on a different financial planet and ergo a richer club than them. Even if we had 90,000 people a game we would still not be as rich as the billionaire teams in our league. Celtic 2012 turnover £51 million The Glasgow-based club said their was a “slight decline” in turnover to £51.34 million against £52.34 million last year - largely from a reduction in pre-season and match ticket revenues - while operating costs rose by £1.93 million on a year ago, or 3.7 per cent, to £54.43 million. http://www.business7.co.uk/business-news/company-results-and-forecasts/2012/09/18/celtic-football-club-posts-7-37m-annual-loss-106408-23926687/ Norwich 2012 Turnover £75 million "In League One we had a turnover of £18m. This year we will have an approximate turnover of £75m and that''s only about £5m short of Everton [who turned over £82m in 2010-11]," said Bowkett. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/18439613
13. He looks to have the physical attributes i also would like two signings. One powerhouse, mobile striker to give competition for Holt. An another ultra fast striker more of a wildcard like Nahki Wells. I rate Jackson but as a Championship player he does not have the technique and or raw pace to be the nippy plan B in the premiership.
14. I think it was a mixture of our luck running out and lack of attacking quality. Again we where tight and controlled it was not a bad performance considering we where away from home against WBA who are good. A foul on the keeper when they did not look like scoring and then a mismatch for the second. The only concern was the lack of chance creation and although I rate Morrison he did not look like a outlet during this game. There is an excellent foundation there for further investment if we could get a Lukaku type player or a Benteke and pay out the 5/7 million + we could step on also any pace would have been useful as we defended too deep.
15.
No IMO. She is enjoying the fruits of her labours gained from the investement she''s made in the club from all her previous books and tv shows. Even if she''s not produced a new book, there''s still the royalties coming in from the many books still available. She''s entitled to enjoy the PL the same as the rest of us. Let''s remember without all those books and tv shows we might be here today. Thankyou Delia
+1 Its easy to spend other peoples money. The simple fact is nothing short of spending hundreds of millions of pounds will improve our current position and confirm top 6 year on year. Why would a gulf investor or Russian buy Norwich....its just not that flash to his mates (or close enough to West London) you might get a Reading scenario but even their not setting the world on fire. I look at Bassong and i think to myself there is a defender who is worth his 30-40k a week to us....and I assume he is on that = money where mouth is. Unless a local lad makes a billion I dont think we can have better owners, better to be sensible.
16.
What makes those statistics even more impressive with Hoolahan is the area of the pitch he is operating in. When you are positioned deeper on the pitch you have more passing options available which are easier to execute. These are significantly reduced the closer you get towards the opposition goal. The idea that Hoolahan gives the ball away a lot has always been a myth.
+1 I would never say that was his weakness. Wes is a great little player but the only issue I have with him is "effectiveness". Yes he works very very hard and hold the ball and allows us to keep possession/release pressure. But.... he does not threaten the goal a lot at this level or have the pace to really cause problems. However therein lies the point an earlier poster made if wes had better finishing or more pace allied to his work rates and undoubted technique he would be 10 million£+ and already playing for a top 6 side. When wes plays we look more solid as his technique and work rate are so beneficial....However we dont look very threatening and I always assume we will only get a very limited number of chances. The big worry is who do you get to replace him? You may be able to get a better scorer/creator or faster player but will they work as hard = conceding more goals/possession. On the other hand Wes has a high stock at the moment and i someone wants to pay 4-6 million for him and give him 50k a week he may be off either way and we have to make plans.
17. This is another reason why we need more pace upfront. when we defend a lead more pace would cause the opponents to defend deeper and reduce the pressure. Against us teams can press as we get fatigued. In the last few games I am sure if we had a very fast finisher he would have bagged a few on the counter making the results a lot more comfortable.
18. I think its in his head as well as fitness. Some players need to be the main man...not in and out of the side and unsure of their status. In our team he is one of the first names on the teamsheet. We needed a leader at the back and he needed to prove that he is a 9 million £ player win/win. I heard he told AVB that he would regret selling him which gives you an insight to his point of view. What a player he is for us.
19.
Just a question of when I guess. Rednapp I reckon.
I second that infact I think he timing of this (on friday is down to the following). Rednapp wants the job Ukraine job a smoke screen to speed things up possibly. You can tell by the timing that its a case of move now or he is joining someone else.
20. Shame no fight now.... Bit sad to see these young players coming on for Chelsea 7 million subs from Spain no wonder Spain win everything no young English players.
21. I just dont understand going to get thrashed so why not just go for it?
22. not bad this second half but too much faffing about on the side of the opposition half.
23. +1 why not get used to scoring for the games we are supposed to win.
