The Gambia

Comoros getting through the group is probably the bigger underdog story though, to be fair. Gambia may be 150th and Comoros 132nd, but Comoros were 198th ten years ago, they are the smallest nation to ever qualify for the AFCON in terms of population and needed to beat Ghana in the final group game, which they did. Gambia is three times bigger than Comoros and they do have a couple of Serie A regulars in the side, whereas Comoros don't have anyone of any note. Gambia, however, do have a former Norwich player of course! -
Cheers for the intro and good luck messages. I'll pick the final six after our game on Friday, so there's plenty of time to get the picks in. I've had three goes before and got 5/6 every time, so hopefully I can go one better this time! I'm not feeling overly confident about Friday because our recent record against Watford is dreadful, but Norwich to score in the first half at 11/8 looks tempting as a 'positive' bet.

Yeah, this. If I'm understanding that tweet correctly, Xhaka was a shorter price to be booked with ten minutes to go than he was pre-match, but I'm guessing that's after the big money had gone on. As you say, a player who earns Premier League money wouldn't risk his career for less than a week's wages, so I'm guessing that someone with more money than sense just decided to lump an obscene amount on Xhaka to be booked because, well, it's Xhaka?

Yeah, this. Most of their January signings are not for the first team squad. They sold Granada several years ago, but still trade several players every year between Watford and Udinese. When a player signs for one of the two clubs, they're not really signing for one club in particular, they're signing for the Pozzo family and can just be moved to whichever club suits the Pozzos at that time.

'Dope' as an adjective, not a noun 😉 -

I was thinking exactly the same thing! It works pretty well as a football chant, too. "Milot Rashica! He makes us happy! Milot Rashica! (5/6 syllables) Milot Rashica (5/6 syllables) Milot Rashica (5/6 syllables)" The other one is probably too established now, though. -
It certainly worked today. We've been struggling for goals but I've said before that I'm not sure another striker is the answer as that would mean either dropping Pukki or changing his role, so this system with four attackers may be the way forward. There's plenty of work rate in there so if they dig in whilst out of possession, it could work.

Idah!!!
Wacky Waving Inflatable Arm Flailing Tube Man replied to mastoola's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
I've always been a big believer in Idah, but that belief had started to wane in recent weeks and months. I'm not sure what the hell has happened to him in the last week though, because he has suddenly turned into prime Lukaku. He was fantastic today, and long may it continue! -
PSG have already been tipped three times, so I'll go for Juventus at 2/5 to win at home against a Udinese side who are struggling to raise a team due to covid. I actually feel like we have a chance tomorrow which is the first time in a while I've felt that, so I'll go for either Pukki ATS at 21/10 or Norwich to win by one goal at 4/1.

Even though we've been shambolic recently and have lost six in a row at an aggregate of 16-0, we're still, incredibly, only three points from 17th. I don't think we stand much chance of getting the points we need to survive (22-25?) but our next three games are against Everton and Palace at home and Watford away, and a couple of positive results could really change things.

I can understand why some are frustrated about the ownership situation and lack of investment, but some of these comments are disgusting given what she has done and achieved for this club over the years. Its starting to become like the end of Arsene Wenger's reign as Arsenal manager, when he started receiving over-the-top abuse which his legacy did not deserve.
