1.

I am not in favour of one man teams.
Nor am I camul, and nor is Huckerby judging by his protests against selling our better players and not replacing them with like quality.  He''s the only one left now.  Whose fault is that?
All three players engineered their own exits. They didn''t have to go around telling their agents exactly how much they could go for. Be annoyed at the club for the lack of replacements definitely. But not for these players wanted to leave. And no, it wasn''t Grant''s fault Earnie and Etuhu wanted to leave.
 2. No shame in that, and successfully avoided extra-time which is never worth it if you lose. Six points from the two forthcoming home games City please, and maybe we can get on with more productive things.
 3.
The latest accounts show that ALL the profits the club has made in the past two seasons have been "retained".  This means that the money has been stashed away to pay off our huge debts.  Over £8m in total. How did we run up so much debt?  From borrowing money for infrastructure.  Not from buying players. Where did the profits come from?  From selling players. Therefore the club is using the profits from player sales to pay off debts that they have accumulated through reckless and unnecessary borrowing.  I accept that setting aside some of the profits would be, err, "prudent" provided that the core business is healthy (which right now it isn''t).  But this goes way beyond prudence.  They are using the football side as a cash cow to sponsor their extravagance.  It makes the board''s claim that "we don''t have to sell players for financial reasons" look deeply cynical.  In the Report of the Directors there is a preamble which always states "The group''s principal activity is that of a professional football club".  I suggest that that statement is no longer true.
These are good points MM, but one question. If we borrowed this reckless and unnecessary money, what have we spent it on? Where has it gone? Wages? Transfers? The new South Stand (necessary)? Infills? I don''t have an answer. more worryingly, I don''t have an idea either.
 4.
That''s quite a small amount for a Chief Executive.
But a good chunk more than David Sheepshanks last year Blah.
 5.
Problem is, Mazy, managers are almost obliged to shout and point and gesticulate wildly - in the modern game, this translates as "passion", something that has to be shown in everything managers and players do.  The main reason given for disliking Eriksson while he was England manager was the same old complaint that he lacked "passion"... and so we ended up with Steve McLaren. I wonder who we''ll end up with after Grant?
We need someone cool, calm and collected on the touchline with their arms folded. Fickle? Never.
 6.

Mate ( I use this in the loosest terms of the word) You have not got a clue what you are talking about ... again.. Our average crowds are better than yours.... yet you have a proven manager and money to burn... No one is interested in your oppinions... You obviously have no mates or you would be talking to them about your ''beloved'' wolves... Were you there on Sat? I doubt it.... or else you too would know that your ''fantastic'' supporters ... a) hardly chanted till you scored b) made most noise chanting either ''w**ker w**nker'' as our sent off players left the field... or the immortal and beautiful chant... ''Fight Fight wherever you may be Cos we are the lords of the black country''... etc Excellent mate... really top fans... I wish ours could come out with gems like that... Why dont you re-register back with a different name on the Wolves site ?? We know you are currently barred & they hate you. NO ONE IS INTERESTED IN YOUR INSIGNIFICANT LITTLE LIFE OR OPPINIONS SO ITS BEST IF YOU LIVE IT OUT AWAY FROM THESE BOARDS....
I am. Although this will probably precipitate a barrage of abuse from our baser support. Carry on camuldonum & we8wba , your input from a different standpoint is appreciated by some on here. Regarding Norwich, and I choose my words sloppily.... The board are not quite masters of smoke & mirrors, coz we''re beginning to see through...where oh where is Delia ? I like Grant, but that isn''t a qualification for his current position. It''s by and large his squad now, managed by HIM...! We , the ''fans'', are generally awful at supporting our team and many think by support that just turning up is ok. It''s not, never has been. So Norwich City Football Club has big problems, because it seems from boardroom, to dressingroom, to the stands we are currently lacking in quality & conviction and most importantly, UNITY. otbc     fire away......
Top post WOW.
 7. For what it''s worth now, Dave Penney was my shout for Worthington''s replacement. He was even out of work at the time. Ho hum.
 8. As blinkered a post as I''ve read. Anyone would think it was written by a Norwich fan.
 9.
Yeh so far played 6 points 7, average that out to 15 games = played 15 points 17.5, thats a third of the season gone 17.5 times 3 =52 points. We should avoid relegation just, so why not give him the whole season then push for the play-offs next season(this is being very sarcastic before anyone asks)
Sheffield Wednesday have 0 points after six games. Stretch that through to the season and they end up with 0 after 46 games and become the worst team in the history of football. Man City have 12 points from 6 games, so they''ll finish on76 points and qualify for the Champions League. Perfectly good reasoning for sacking a manager (I''m being sarcastic, in case it didn''t come across).
 10.
Good point. According to Radio Norfolk sports bulletin this morning, we cannot afford to compete with MOST of the clubs in the championship. all this in spite of the fact we are the best supported club, for the last 3 seasons in this sorry league. A fan base the size of West Ham, and a playing budget the size of Burnley.  Thats about the size of it. Too much money is diverted into pet projects, that do not enhance the football club. Its time  to put football first.
You can no longer judge how rich a club is by its attendances. Back in the day you could (probably as recently as five years ago), but not now.
 11. For me it looks tricky this wee. Southampton to beat Barnsley. Done.
 12. It''s interesting reading, and gives a good account of the other side of the argument. However, “In the second half we came together again after chasing for the ball,” said Mills. “To get in front, I put my arm across him, which is good defending. He fell to the ground quite dramatically, but when the decision went against him he jumped straight up and still I don''t see how I cheated,” in Danny Mills language translates into English as... ''I elbowed him in the head.'' We all saw it. He didn''t make perfect contact, but that''s not the point. If he can''t tell the truth here, then you have to take the rest of the article in the vein it''s written. (I believe the decision regarding Dion was fair enough).
 13. If ever there was a thread to sum up this message board over the past week, bang, here it is. Classic.
 14.
CJF - Bly is the one who wanted to talk about the match stats on this thread. I was replying to ZLF''s original post about goals for being the problem. Match stats can be confusing but anything else can only be opinion. The match stats for this game showed Charlton had 57% possession against our 43% and yet the previous away game at Hull shows that we had 57% against their 43%. Now I was at both games and it''s my opinion that given the circumstances the Charlton performance was much better, that is also borne out by the reaction of the fans who applauded the team off at the end of the game far more warmly than at Hull. I stated that we gave Charlton a torrid time for 90 mins, I didn''t mean that we had them under the cosh raining shots at their goal all game. I meant we became hard to beat and got in their faces and got stuck in never letting them settle and play. You of all people should understand this as you, I believe, were one of the loudest critics of our away form previously and the "no shows" of the past. As for the Brown debate, I stated before I left on Tuesday that my preferred front two would be Strihavka and Huckerby in a 442. But I fully understand Browns selection for this game. We have a lot of striker options at the club and I also don''t want to see the ball hit to brown game after game. But I believe that maybe the injuries in midfield dictated the option chosen at Charlton. If we don''t have the personnel to pass the ball through the midfield then at a place like Charlton lumping the ball up to a target mnan is the only other option. Hopefully Fotheringham or Smith will increase Grant''s options when fit.
I''d give up trying Nutty. I have.
 15.

Does everyone agree with me that we should drop the 4 - 5 - 1 and stick to 4 - 4 - 2? Grant if your reading this for god sake play Cureton, Striker & Huckerby this weekend!! He''s already said ''I always feel with the likes of Cureton, Huckerby and Strihavka - if they are in the game you have the chance of winning'' But then comments that you have to choose between Cureton or Huckerby?? only if you play 4-5-1!! Play Huckerby on the left where he has been successful for years and play Cureton as a striker where oh yeah he was top goal score last year?! THIS TEAM PICKS IT''S SELF SO WHY DON''T YOU TAKE A BREAK PG AND LET THE FANS PICK THE TEAM. Don''t anybody give me this cr*p about injury''s and fatigue cause problems. Shackell, Strihavka and Cureton were on the bench so were fit and should have played, they are all 1st team players in my opinion.
Ihave a better idea granty clear off back to scotland your are inept and a total basket case.
...as I''ve said above, please note example... [:D]
 16.
Starting off with a 4-5-1 away from home at favourites for promotion isn''t a bad idea. You can''t play 4-5-1 with Jamie upfront on his own and if Big Dave isn''t fit enough yet having him as a sub is the best option. That leaves you with Dion or Brown upfront on their own and Dion is needed at the back. If you can keep it tight early on away from home the away fans turn on the team after about 60-70 minutes and the moans start, they lose confidence and that is the time to make the subs and bring on Jamie and Big Dave for Brown and Lappin. Then you start hitting them and trying to steal a goal. Basically the starting line-up wasn''t too bad of a decision but he really needed to change it with 30 minutes to go at 0-0 to try and go for the win. So still not great management because he forgot to do the important bit and try and win the game in the last 30 minutes but not terrible like everyone is screaming about.
Perfectly judged Le Juge. (who incidently I thought had his best game so far on Tuesday night - not that we can make such comments in these ridiculous times of voting people out with text messages, chasing people with pitch forks and ebing desperate for a public flogging)
 17. But after 15 games, we will still have a chance of making th playoffs, no matter where we are in the league. The year we reached Cardiff we suffered several 4-0 defeats away from home to decent opposition. I cannot believe everyone is being so painfully unreasonable and fickle. It''s like everyone''s been waiting to take their frustration out on something for months, and Tuesday''s result has provided the opportunity - although that doesn''t really stack up with the actual performance we all witnessed. Not expressly you koimatsuba, but in general, you''ve all gone witch-hunt crazy and have lost complete sight of reality.
 18. He played 4-5-1 for the first 20 minutes of Tuesday night, and then changed it to, surprisingly, 4-4-2. But I guess that would take away the hysteria wouldn''t it?
 19. I was at the game, but I must confess I missed the incident. Looking at the replay, I''m not convinced we''ll win it. It''s on the virgin media website now. What do you guys think?
 20.

I too went to the game, and I must say i disagree with a lot of whats said above... Charlton put on probably their best performance of the season, and a year or two ago the game would have been dead and buried by half time, the team showed great resilience, yes we lacked a goal threat much of the time, but there were more saving headers and blocks tonight than in the whole of last season! Theres no need to overreact just yet, add a bit of quality ie smith, fozzy or a loan, then with a better cutting edge we will be a lot better equiped. That said we cant afford basic lapses in concentration, letting a ball from that deep bounce into the box for the first pen is criminal, and even then the tackle wasnt really needed with the ball speeding towards the touchline. One point though, Brown was dead on his feet after 70 mins, why not make subs earlier when they could have made an impact? We could have brought on Curo and Dave and had fresh legs to try and win the game, which would have also driven Charlton back a bit and relieved some pressure. Also Chadders looked lightweight, get him in the gym! Any thoughts?
Fair enough.  Charlton played well and the performance was perhaps not as grim as I alluded.  However, it is frustrating when the manager fields a weak team for no apparent reason.  Can you honestly say that with a performance like that we are likely to be challenging for the play-offs?  That''s the point Im trying to make.  I think Peter Grant got it badly wrong this time - Im not going to call for his head, but it was not a positive performance from the bench or on the pitch
Thank you for a decent, reasoned response to the game. For a moment I thought sense had caved in.
 21.
i thought danny mills conducted himself well for the whole game and acted in the good spirit of the game for the whole 90mins as for huckerby and dublin they are a pair of animals just like our old friends paul mcveigh and ian henderson
Bless you. Thank you fro brightening up my day.
