1.
I''m underwhelemed with Phillips, but I expected McNally and I think that Alan Bowkett is by far the best chairman we could have got realistically.
Why would you be underwhelmed with the appointment of 2 very successful business men and an experienced behind the scenes football man.  This could well be the start of something new and exciting.
 2.

still cant help but laugh guys [:D]
I can''t help but laugh at the fact you have posted more than 200 times on the boards of a club you don''t support. Ever leave the computer?
This is fattys second stint on the boards.  The boy must have nearly 4000 posts to his now by now.  You should google him.....
 3.
PMSL !!! Get in the real world, do you not realise you are almost in the conference ?
Probably what was said when someone on a Carlisle United message board mentioned Ian Harte!  Now there is a player we should have gone for.
 4.
Hi City Angel, sorry for not getting back to you sooner but Ive been very busy, as per earlier in this thread, until i meet with the treasurer at our next committee meeting i do not have the information on funds. The meeting is imminent but we have been busy with other matters concerning the Kitty which need to be completed so that the meeting can be conducted with all aspects dealt with. As soon as the meeting has been conducted i will update the website for everyone. I cannot elaborate to much but meetings will be called for supporters and local business very shortly afterwards. All will become clear soon, plus we want everything in place before our AGM in August.
In a day and age of advanced technology surely you could just send him a cheeky text message, email, or fax. Better still and just for the fun of it........PHONE HIM. I was quite an aggressive supporter of the committee in the conception stage.  Unfortunately you all seem to have jumped above your station and are acting like some kind of shadow group.  I am certainly not suggesting that you are out to defraud anyone, but quite frankly your lack of transparancy will probably soon have fingers pointing in your direction. If your treasurer cannot give you a rounded up figure in less than 5 minutes then what is the point.
 5. I was at that game.  Can remember that goal as clear as day.  Pat Kluivert scored 2 if I remember rightly, whatever happened to him...... That goal was awesome though, must be a good 35 yards away.....
 6. If, and its a big IF, Michael Owen and Dean Ashton are fit then Stoke IMO would have quite possibly one of the most formidable strike partnerships in the league.... Its a monumental gamble, one I applaud their Chairman for taking. And as for the sell on clause, I think we need to be grateful we got the money we did.  The bloke has hardly played since he was sold.
 7. Would it not be best for all the various supporters group to join forces.  Surely that would create a far more powerful independant body that could potentially have some real clout. And I love all the bickering.  Really constructive.....
 8. I am hoping the players take it on their shoulders and start to show some fight that has been sorely lacking for the last 2/3 seasons.  A little bit of die for the cause type attitude will hopefully rub off on the fans and in turn get the directors a little pumped up. And if they do the best thing is it costs nothing, but can make one hell of a difference.  I am hoping Nelson is the catalyst....
 9. Still reckon we are in pole position.  This news actually makes the prospect of signing Simpson a bit better for me.  I did have serious doubts, but I respect Lee Clarke and if the player is good enough for him.
 10. Players have come back from serious injury problems to have good careers.  The lad is young and very tall which can sometimes cause problems in its own right.  I agree that this signing is a bit of a gamble, but it could pay off....Promising fuor me, will give a good central physical presence I feel we have been lacking since Etuhu left.
 11.
What is wrong with the other threads on this rumour?
The forum police strike again!!!!  Get a life for gods sake...... Highly rated a couple of seasons ago, career has stuttered at at Derby.  Could potentially be a hell of a signing, could also be a complete flop.  Well worth a gamble though....
 12.
Because she goes all out to defend the board?
Whats the problem with that?  Or is that the intention of this forum lately, to stifle any alternative opinions.
 13. Well I dont think this is a good deal.  Clingan is the sort of player you build sides around.  He is the right age and has the right amount of talent.  I personally want him to stay. The other thing that wrangles me is the price.  Football has gone money mad these last few seasons so why arent we quoting Cov figures like £3m for Clingan.  Everybody else seems to do it, look at the fight swansea are putting up for 2 members of the backroom team.  I want a chairman like that, someone with some balls and teeth for a fight.
 14.

I like any football coverage, but this is shocking! Did nobody learn from the collapse of itv digital? So many football clubs will be left short by this (just like us after itv). How can it have been allowed to happen again?
Because no company is immune from going bankrupt and you don''t have to have the cash in the bank to buy in. Sky certainly don''t have the money in the bank if for some reason they started to struggle.
The premier league would just implode under a vast weight of debt.  You have only got to read the article about Liverpools level of debt to see that the game is in serious trouble.
 15. Back in the 90''s AC Milan broke the world transfer record when they signed Gianluigi Lentini for £13m.  He was involved in a car crash that close season and spent a long time in a coma.  Not sure if he ever played again...
 16. The Setanta thing was always going to happen.  How many people can realistically afford a subscription to both Sky Sports and Setanta.  PPV doesnt really work for football either. I think that Setanta should have turned this on for free or at a much lower cost, boosted the audience figures then coined it on the advertising.  I am not sure if I am right but didnt the Italian FA bring in a ruling that meant ''x'' amount of games were to be made available for the free to air TV channels. And sorry Branston, Sky has nothing to do with players wages.  That is down to us fair and square, its called supply and demand.  All Sky are doing is paying the going rate. Its the Premier League that is slowly killing football as it pulls further and further away from the real world.
 17. I really dont understand all the negativity surrounding this signing to be honest.  Played really well for Exeter last year, local lad coming back to his hometown club, this could be a great signing. But it doesnt really matter what we do, its a no win situation for the club....
 18.
Smith''s crisps with the little blue bag of salt. Ahhhhhhhh................got most of you there! OTBC
No, they are still very much available.  I always use these without the salt broken up on the top of a nice Pasta Bake (because there werent enough carbs in the first place!!)
 19.

Had I posted this I''d have been accused of attention seeking...
Yeah but you''re a tit [:P] Seabrooks Canadian Ham [Y]
Any flavour of Seabrooks is good for me, quality crisps.  OT, bizarre flavours that make me wretch....Chili & Choc Walkers obviously, but they dont count.  Lamb & Mint McCoys, horrible....
 20.
I''ll repeat what I said on the 497 previous threads about exactly the same subject. If this were any other 33/34 year old left winger, injury prone as Huckerby is you would all be up in arms. Even Huckerby himself has said he may not be fit enough for the english game again - but then you misty eyed individuals have ignored that. I want a team built that can develop into the future, and we have enough questionable elements of our past at this club as it is. If he wants to come back, bring him back to work with the youth team.
I think you are over looking the fact that in his own unique way Hucks does have some good leadeship qualities.  I think the best way he can work with the youth team is by being in the first team squad with Luke Daley, Korey Smith etc. firmly and squarely under his wing.
 21.
I think you''ll find that Walkers cheese & onion crisps are the bestest ever flavour. And when placed between two slices of bread they are a a delicious treat
I second that, although Salt & Vinegar chipsticks are mighty tasty too.....
 22.
he is lightweight. but he is a good player technically.
He is a kid, of course he is lightweight.  When this boy fills out he is gonna be very good IMO....
 23.
So you needed to start a new thread for your own personal opinion? The other thread not good enough for you?
Who are you the forum police?
 24.

And you dont the 11 passion less half wits who crossed the white line every saturday dont deserve some of the brunt. How can you seriously blame Gunn.  ''Right Gunny, you have 15 bags of poo to choose from, pick your best 11 eleven please''  Its always gonna get the same result isnt it.
I think comparing the likes of Semi to a bag of poo is an insult to the footballing abilities of bags of poo everywhere.
Just how did John Otsemobor hood wink his way into becoming a professional footballer.....He did make the league 1 team of the season though when he was with Crewe so maybe thats his level....
 25.
"I tried to negotiate a contract for Lee 18 months ago but Mr Roeder said it was something he wanted to think about later.  No one from Norwich ever came back to us.  I did telephone Neil (D) but he said he had heard nothing from Glen and could not help us."
Probably asked for stupidly high wages, def thinks he is far better than he really is.....9 Goals, 12 Assists in 3 seasons, are really that badly off without him.....And as for a fee, dont think he would command that high a fee, nice squad filler if he costs nothing just not worth paying for. And as for his poxy ''I have to leave'', he is one of 11 reasons we find ourselves in the position we are.  If he was any sort of man, and if it really isnt about the money, he would stay and help right a few wrongs....
