  1. Pah, any doubters should dig out last seasons dvd/video and forward to the Forest Match when we lost 2-0, a few blinding stops from Wales No 1
  2. Is this friends brother a samaritan or a head shrink? Becuase that''s the only people Worthy would be saying that kind of stuff to......Anyone with a decent knowledge of football would tell you tha £1 million doesn''t buy you a world-beater anymore
  3. I agree Helveg needs to come into the fold again at right-back, if he doesn''t take the chance then no one can blame Worthy. Eddie''s been solid for a few games but Charlton was a mare for him, can''t recall us giving away any penalties so far this season though
  4. Yes but at the time we were near the top and playing well, now we''re rock bottom and it''s plain to see we''re not good enough If we don''t get much out of the next three games then the chances are that we can look forward to playing Watford again next season, I don''t want to be defeatist but having seen every league game this season it''s clear we don''t have anybody with that quality in the final third
  5. Congratulations Fatboy Slimfast on one of the most stupid posts I''ve ever read. I''m just hope you''re an Ipswich fan stirring it up. Before Worthy, Norwich were a struggling club looking like they may slip down to the second division. He takes over, we stay up, go to the playoffs, challenge for the majority of the next season and then win it the next. Now we''re in the Premier League and I think some people expect it to be like the first time we were there. In reality we''re now a very small club in comparison to others. It will take time to get to levels where we can compete financially, from what I''ve seen we are good enough to stay up. Christ if it comes down to Fulham away and we finish in 17th by a single point then that''s good enough for me and it should be for every other ''supporter'' of NCFC
  6. I can only recall Holt giving the ball away once. The team played well but unfortunatly we don''t have the cutting edge to put games to bed and again we paid for it today with one lapse in concentration. With hand on heart I don''t think we''ve really improved the squad from last season and this is mainly down to lack of funds and prudence on the board behalf. You could blame Worthy but he''s done the best with what he has and some players are good but not match winners. Jonson was great today as we actually missed him second half, he may not be skinning people on the wing but he''s an intelligent with great defensive play who improves with every game. Henderson however was a strange choice considering we had the more capable talents of McVeigh and Mulryne available. Thankfully results elsewhere went for us and it''s going to be a scrap until the end of the season, I expected nothing less. If we keep touching distance until January then hopefully we may get a couple of players who can help turn those draws into wins.
  7. They turned down £3 million from Charlton in the summer so this is a non-starter
  8. We probably have a little more than that but you can''y go shouting because then prices go up. There''s probably a little money from the Malky sale but it wasn''t all up front plus I doubt we saved a great deal on releasing Briggs as he wouldn''t have walked away with nothing
  9. Another Genius posting Apparantly Helveg was crap in Serie A, how come he played there for 10 years then ? Jonson''s got no top level experience, so what''s international and champions league then? Svennson - His challenging in the box led to the goal last night Do I like using Smilies ? Yes
  10. No you''re being a nonce Strachan was given money by Coventry - it ended in Relegation and financial difficulty. He took Southampton to the FA Cup final but since then it''s been downhill all the way. We''re doing ok, last time i checked there was another 81 points to play for
  11. Just because you play for England U-19''s doesn''t mean you''re the next Micheal Owen. The majority of players at that level spend their senior days in lower leagues. The real test for Jarvis is to be sent out on loan and see if he''s got what it takes
  12. Poor decisions or prudent decisions ? - Yes it would have been nice to have more money to spend but Worthy done well with the budget he had. We could have spent around £10 million but then that''s not really improved the likes of West Brom has it. Not only that but we have a large but manageable debt which needs addressing. - Gallacher was a bosman and always going to be backup while Greeno''s here. He came here as we could offer him far more than Dundee but I''d imagine it''s still not breaking the bank. Helveg''s warming the bench but there''s till chance to make a contribution, I''d rather have an experienced player like him on the bench than someone we''ve paid a seven figure sum for and was pretty average. Doherty, I agree that the jury''s still out. As a defender he was one of the worst in the Prem last season, up front he''s ineffective. I don''t know why we signed him but at 24 yrs old there''s still potential once up to fitness. -We were right to sell Malky, we got a decent price for a player out of contract at the end of the season. Let''s be honest, he wouldn''t have cut it in the Prem week in, week out. Brennan still has a chance but again let''s not forget that he had one good season for Forest, the majority of his time was spent on loan or in the reserves. -A striker would be nice but the real weakness lies in midfield where we don''t have anyone with some creativity and the ability to pick players out and create chances. Strikers can only score when chances are created. If you want a striker who can make something out of nothing then you''re talking about money we haven''t got. There''s still 84 points to play for, based on last season we don''t even need half of that to stay up and having seen all 10 games now I honestly think we''re getting stronger but these next few weeks are the real test. If we start getting wins then confidence will breed, if we don''t then I will accept we''re going down. Still it''s nice to be here after many years of mediocrity....oh and keep the faith
  13. Man City are normally known as City, Norwich are not....would have thought that was fairly precise
  14. Someone once said Football is a game of two halves, unfortunately you can''t turn up for the second half in the premier as chances are the game will be lost by then. Yes we did well to claw back to 2-2 but we conceded some poor goals. The worrying thing for me is that we don''t have a settled first 11 yet and are a couple of players short of staying up
  15.  I have it on good authority that someone down the pub said that his mate knew dave stringers dogs friends owner and that had spoken to Mark River''s dentist who said that he''d heard from a man who was scratching his arse in Tesco''s that Green was going to move clubs sometime in his career - therefore it must be true
  16. Sorry m8 but that''s complete tosh. The board have always backed Worthy to the best of their ability. The club has debts that need to be addressed for the long term, not just one season. Lets also not forget that a lot of Worthy''s signings have been quite poor and ended up costing the club quite a small fortune in transfer fees and contract settlements (Briggs, Easton, Emblen, Rivers..), he got it right last season by bringing in Francis and Edworthy and then getting a player proven at Div 1 level to be pure class. If the board had splashed out at the beginning of last season then we would have had Alan Lee up front and would probably have been playing Rotherham last saturday as a result. They''ll be money to spend in January if the right players are available. That''s what Portsmouth done last season, and Birmingham the season before, both stayed up and are much stronger as a result this season.
  17. 2+2=5 Ashton''s a good player in Div 1 but he''s still young and learning, probably needs a couple more years in that division. Maybe a good investment but he was crap when they came down to Carrow Road.
  18. CanaryBoy you are talking rubbish, Crouch was only a proven goalscorer in one season at Pompey. He done a job for us in the three months he was here but then we bought McKenzie who gives it 100%, creates chances and scores goals and all at a fraction of the price, if we''d have spent £2 million on Crouch then it would have been poor value for money
  19. Sorry but Holt didn''t have a blinder today, his attackings improved, he was unlucky with the volley but Safri''s better as a defensive midfielder IMHO, obviously Nigel doesn''t think so
  20. Basically talking about the widening gap between Prem and 1st with the promoted teams struggling. Nigel said they knew it was going to be tough, if we go down then contracts are weighted accordingly so we don''t get in financial difficulty. Didn''t really say a lot knowhatImean?
  21. It''s not negativity, it''s expectation. On Tuesday we played a team in the third division who made it hard but we had the players to comfortably beat them. Yet we made it hard for ourselves, yes we won and that was the main thing. However yesterday made me quite angry that I had spent 11 hours travelling, £60-70 and saw an awful performance and once again a formation that is clearly not working. We were holding our own against better teams with 4-4-2. I honestly believe we can stay up after seeing the heart and determination shown against Newcastle, Man U and Arsenal. Perhaps with a couple of additions in Jan we could be quite comfortable but now that doesn''t appear to be the case as we''re told there''s no money. The next 10 games make or break us this season and I''m hoping Saturday finally rings the changes that need to be made starting with Leon coming up front. If everyone had the same guts and determination as he did yesterday then you couldn''t be negative as we''d have given it everything.
  22. Worthy decides to go with a full strength side with a couple of exceptions. Pretty dull affair which again raises questions over our play in the the final third. Rovers put one over the bar from six yards out. Safri looks a bargain at £500,000. The diamond doesn''t work but overall we''re through and probably kept a low tempo with Saturday in mind.
  23. I''ve said it all along, Crouch done a decent job here when on loan but his goalscoring record is poor apart from one blinding season at Pompey. Villa saw potential and paid the money which didn''t work out. He was no way worth £2 million and we rightly said thanks but no thanks. I think a favour was done when he went back as we brought in McKenzie and Svennson who both put in the net on a more frequent occasion for half the cost
  24. Yes this great bit of journalism says it''s a £4 million pound race and Greeno has a £3 million pound release clause....simple maths would suggest that it doesn''t add up and someone''s being very lazy
  25. We have three keepers because you need them at this level. It just so happens that both of them have played for their country but aren''t first choice. Gallagher came here as competition and also down to the fact that we could offer him a lot more money than Dundee. Ward was going to be on the bench at a Div 1 club, now he''s on the bench at a prem club. Why does there have to be a hidden agenda
