1. Has the OP said that for the previous 12 years when we''ve not won on the first day of a season? Look where we have been in that time compared to say, Ipswich. We played ok yet lapse in certain areas but could have (but didn''t). It''s not a disaster by any means, not over run, not made to look stupid - like this thread.
2. The question has to be asked, would they do the tickets so cheaply if they had to pay their real way and not subsidised by Joe Publics pocket? They know they have to get x% filled to make it look credible. I read a month ago they are also giving free tickets to locals to help bulk out the crowd to. It''s very suspect and questionable. You look at Chelsea and Spurs and their rebuilding plans. Arsenal went through it. Why should WH be given a free ticket compared to other equal or lesser clubs in London? They should pay, simple as. They''re not short (apart from any money owed to Sheff Utd and others)
3.
I''m afraid the argument that trolls will abuse the edit function is irrelevant given that on a modern forum posts are clearly labelled "edited" and have the ability to see previous versions of the post.
You need to keep the contents of edited posts as trolls will post something controversial and then change it when pounced on and then plead innocence - nature of the web today. Has to be kept to legality/character deformation/slander But it''s looking a bit more friendly/easier on the eye atm and may tempted me back to post more
4. This always gets me and how the FA and everything else panders to West Ham. Dodgy player dealings to boot. The country does not owe them anything and should pay their own way but always seem to get away with anything and everything. Government needs to release the dealings behind this farce as is clearly benefiting a club that doesn''t need financial help - although I hope they get sold out but that band of bandits and wreck the club. Rant over.
5. Did they suggest the same when QPR bounced straight the previous season?
6. Cannigia1, how many seasons have you been poor in the Championship? It''s ok having the odd troll but to believe you know something about football whilst supporting your joke of a club says it all. Long may you do nowt in that league.
7. Who really cares, won''t stop me supporting Norwich. We''ve had good and bad kits but doesn''t stop us. Club runs far more than skin deep in colours on a shirt, as long as it''s always yellow & green blood in what ever mix, still our club.
8. "His interview in France where he criticised all things Norwich especially the playing style and the food was a disgrace" And that season with how we played and didn''t get results is very much spot on. Why fault a player for being honest? New manager, whom you don''t really like but can get players ''playing'' is one heck of a difference people like you can''t really see. Give the manager and player a chance. If they don''t gel, so be it but why throw a tantrum about what exactly, your absurd opinion maybe but we''re all entitled to those. I''d like to see the turn around in fortunes. Many said Neil wasn''t fit for purpose on signing, proved them wrong. RvW had a bad season but circumstances didn''t suite. He can play, he can score, we''ve to see it. AN maybe can do something, if he see''s it in RvW over the next few day and if the wolf want''s to prove his worth.
9. RVW had potential. Hughton didn''t get that out of him. He went to France and didn''t set the world alight. Alex Neil transformed Jerome and Redmond and got the best out of these two when Adams failed. Could AN do that to RVW? None of us know! He could, he may not but he HAS got the best of of the previous managers failings. He has an eye for potential and getting the best out of - so will go with what he decides!
10. They''re just for off trip hiding away from their own failings for how many years now in that division? They appear to forget we were in the top flight for 3 seasons previous to last. Do they have a fear if they did some how manage to secure a place in the top flight that they would break their own record for the largest defeat? It won''t happen though with their owner, no investment, lack of fans and living in the world of yesteryear. As bad as Leeds and Newcastle fans living on past glories and not in the real world of today. What matters to me as a fan is where we are today, how we got here and where we are heading tomorrow, not what happened 30+ years back as a bragging right. We beat them, again. We''re up again. They can''t argue against what the gap is now between the two clubs. Quality wins.
11. Fans don''t win games, players do. Big deal turning up early and celebrating at a Norfolk legends landmark before a ball is kicked. No fear tomorrow...
12. When clubs start pushing such out, ditto Ipswich and Holland & Co, it''s a little desperate. Don''t need to big it up but only get on with it. Boro have no right as much as us. We finished above them, do they forget that? They may have beaten us twice but this is a one off game and everything changes. After all that...no fear!
13. Talk is cheap from such former players. They ain''t going to say anything negative in the press, the only person who has recently was Murphy at Blackpool and you see what happens then.
14. I''d probably guess Tettey dropped to bench if only coping with so many games with his injury. Only bring back Johnson if it''s really going to dismantle Middlesbrough anymore than what we''ve done the previous two away games. Two wins without and proven we''re a unit and not a one man team. My hunch it''s now time for the strikers to put their stint in for the final 3 games.
15. Drop Ruddy and he''ll be gone in a shot, ridiculous calls by our so called fans. They should be questioning why Adams bought in 3 central defenders but then plays Martin there instead, well out of position. Some have said that''s how he plays well for Scotland and what Strachan prefers. Sod him and their national team. Martins best position is right back and far better than Whitaker there. We need a spine in the team but we also need a rock hard defence.
16. I''ve never been concerned about our attendances since before our play off season - constant support. Many fans get concerned far to easily. This season is still excellent for us, more so compared to our muppets down the road year after year (despite going down to the 3rd to and up to the 1st and back to their level) If we stared hitting 24k and below for league games, I''d start to take note, 21k and below I''d be concerned but I doubt we ever will now. Look at this season and compare to the past 12 years: http://stats.football365.com/dom/ENG/D1/attend.html
17. That was my first away game - and on club cabbage. Used many times in the later 80s as a student. Never used again until Hux/Dublins last game - vs Sheff Weds. Won''t do again as...too many reasons! Sheffield Weds ground I would do again but alas not today. Paid for fright fest at Thorpe Park more attractive and guaranteed entertainment after the past months offerings for us.
18. Do like the FL stats on their website and more so where we are at the moment. Form guid lovely: http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/CurrentForm/0,,10794~20147,00.html Such a shame the binners top attendance this season (v us) is less than our worst home attendance. May be time to put money on Redmond being first goal scorer against his former team this weekend, in the top 3 for shots - Grabban 4th with the best on target ratio: http://www.football-league.co.uk/page/DivisionalShooting/0,,10794~20147,00.html
19.
Reading got to 106 points and I think hold the record, in Neyul we trust. I seem to recall the Ancient History Society down the A140 coming out with 100 points and 100 goals about twelve years ago,, didn''t quite work out for them from memory. I wonder what happened to the banner?
Didn''t they go up via the play offs? Past high points as follows: http://www.fl125.co.uk/records/league-points
20. Listening to Chris Evans this morning, the sports guy said their producer who''s an Ipswich fan was bemoaning the lack of Championship News during their earlier sports update....so they obliged about Norwich being top with the Adams interview to their entertainment refusing to mention his team :-)
21. I saw that in their text commentary too but seeing the goals on SSN, definitely got both details wrong. Cracking goal by Jerome.
22. Next it will be Pablo Counago for another return, unless he has been signed up for the next series of Splash.
23. Long may Evans remain there, he''s doing a wonderful job to suffocate that club. It shows in their attendance and true support. Listening to them the past few days going on about their glory years as more important to where they are heading shows how much they really care. Their inferiority complex for the past 12 years continues to grow and I''m loving it.
24. Their few fans who bother to post on forums have limited scope. Since they last got relegated from the Premier League, what have they done? Sat in the middle of what? Flirted more with the lower regions than the play offs. As you say City1st, everything about the club forever shrinking. We may have gone down to the 3rd tier but we pulled our socks up and settled our minor debts in comparison. We don''t need to wave £5 notes at our rivals, we are sustainable. We''ve four years of Premiership football to prove that with crowds of over 20,000 since 2002 for our first team games, more that 23,000+ since maybe 2006? We may have our fickle fans here but we still turn up through the good and bad times - and it makes a difference. If only going there Saturday but alas has to be City pub to watch in good company.
