  1. Your rhetorical question does not impress anyone... the answers are clearly made up in your mind. You can ask as many times as you like. My opinion on this does not matter; as I'm not a British citizen I don't have a vote in such things. Why the f**k would you listen to a word I say anyway? So many other voices you could listen to, yet choose not to - Gary Lineker is a Brit with a much better standing and profile than myself. Previous PMs - and Tory ones at that -have said the Rwanda Bill is racist. As was the Windrush Scandal. I've been in a few countries before, but I don't think it is a coincidence that only in Norfolk I've seen people - plural - (admittedly through work) who have shrines to Nazi ideology in their homes, or display their tattooed hakenkreuz in the company of strangers. Friends close, enemies closer? Blood and soil, yeah?
  2. You'd have to empathise with, and walk a mile in an average (not handpicked - random) migrant's shoes to even BEGIN to see... ..but don't fret, no one is expecting you to be able to do either of those things. Look beyond the facade. Thought experiment - if I were to claim that I am an advocate of animal welfare rights, just because I contribute to a charity, yet my kids mistreat and abuse animals under my roof AND with my knowledge, what would that make me?
  3. In a nutshell.. I'm sure you can see these far right parties like to point at <scapegoat> and stir up hatred on their rhetoric - see, these are the kinds of people that turn up when democratic standards / accountability in governments fail. They are not interested in being competent, accountable, compromising or working effectively with others; if they actually went towards solving the issue they would become redundant. It is more useful for them to keep their supporter base angry so their strategy is akin to a person whose only tool is a hammer and sees everything as a nail - or arsonists who burn down woods to buy land on the cheap.
  4. There is a lot to be said in this perennial discussion. 1st things 1st - stop looking for simple solutions. THERE IS NO SIMPLE SOLUTION to immigration. write it down. There never was, and there never will be. You written it down yet? 2nd - There is a massive confluence of factors which got us to this point. Globalist economics (more growth, more consumption, ad infinitum). Ageing populations in Europe, booming demographics in Africa / Asia, climate change, wars, the anti-colonial/anti-western feeling in countries like India, Brazil etc, and a "longing for the great Empire days" in others (UK, US, Moskovia) 3rd - one thing that crops up time and time again, especially when talking with older people, is the pace of social change, it's next to humanly impossible to adapt or keep up (even for those of us that are more receptive to the idea of change, all depending on how it's implemented - gradual change IMO is much better than radical change) 4th - this needs repeating - the profound, sheer hypocrisy of nations who used to be great colonial powers, who pillaged, raped and enslaved half the world for centuries, and continuously instigate wars in those parts of the world with a view to scavenge and profit off the remains.. what gall, to then say "we don't want migrants here" when your nation brought them there as slaves in the 1st place. Probably much more could be said but these are my main points.
  5. Some 5/6 years ago.. Simon Lappin telling me that my works van is blocking his driveway. I didn't twig it was him until my workmate told me. Somewhere round Hingham.
  6. Maybe you should try telling that to Delia, that she should leave NCFC and stick to her pies? In person would probably work better.
  7. You come across, in most of your posts, as an 'old school' sort of guy who doesn't rate women's opinion in most things, football in particular.. but since I don't know you, that may be either just a facade, or my perception.
  8. Farke was awful at PL with us. Dean was awful with us full stop.
  9. This has echoes of Webber's comments about divorcees in the snake pit, etc etc. Unbecoming of someone in any prominent role at a football club.
  10. Hope for your sakes you found the oiks who pelted an old lady's car with beer cans.
  11. It's mostly because of his shirt number, and some of his technical attributes that got people comparing him to the last player to wear #17. To me he is most effective as an 8. Nunez ..I still can't tell what his best role on the pitch is.
  12. I'll celebrate a draw all the more just to see them seethe in their $#itheap of a town.. throw in a 'Farke wink' there as well 😁
  13. People can criticise if they choose to. Me, personally, while I count myself as a NCFC fan, know that most of my criticism is irrelevant, and not worth getting riled up for something I cannot effect. <reaches for pistachios while watching others rant and rave about City>
  14. Definitely afraid of potential injuries, like getting hit on the head by a ball or something. Sargent would have thrown himself at that all day long...
  15. What costs us games is shipping goals at the back. Not even 0.02, I'm out of pocket already..
  16. That is 100% correct! Although where I live now (Northamptonshire) they are big on cricket and there are a few clubs, but aside from college kids being a little loud around town after matches, you don't hear of any disorderly conduct. But of course if I look hard enough for cricket fans who got drunk and antisocial, or cracked someone else's knees with a bat, I'll probably find them.
  17. That's not the point. The average football fan will outdrink the average fan of any other sport before / after the game then may get involved in some good or not so good antics. Heavy drinking and football are so connected, that if every football fan was teetotal, pubs wouldn't exist at all. Of course there are good supporters who can keep themselves in check win lose or draw even after a few, but there are some who carry whatever personal frustrations they have into their team, have little self control and all they need is an excuse to blow up.
  18. Stop the thread, we have a winner. "Norwich are never gonna win the league, but they still turn up every week" 😅 when is this from, 2008-9?
  19. That is the only "language" some have.. that, and grunts. Sole reason they feel put upon when certain words are censored in certain environments, they feel they cannot say anything at all. If they were to expand their lexicons and swear less often (mind you, even their swear words bag is really limited) it would have more impact.
  20. Liverpool got done yesterday, but that was karmic retribution, they have gotten away with it many times. Way I saw it, the Diaz goal was 100% onside and should've stood. The 1st sending off, even though Jones gets the ball, the follow through is out of control and could have resulted in serious injury. Jota 1st yellow should have been withdrawn - whether it is a foul at all I'm not sure as Udogie's foot touches Jota's knee behind him, causing the trip. But once he gets that yellow, Jota can have no complaints about the 2nd.
  21. I see this repeated over and over. Everyone knows that money is a BIG factor in the PL, but this is such a defeatist mindset. If we're gonna think like that, may as well stay home as we're only 'little Norwich'. Where is the spirit that years gone by defeated Bayern Munich on their own turf? Or when the almighty Man City got embarrassed by us - with lots of injuries - at Carra? End of the day, it's 11 vs 11 and it boils down to which side as a collective wants it more. Of course that isn't the way to bet, but football is full of surprises, sometimes we get lucky but most of the time you make your own luck, money or not. The bigger they are, the bigger the fall (Chelsea, MU) and the more money they have, the more complacent and spoilt they get. I watch football to see the talented players of the big teams, whilst enjoying and rooting for the underdogs who dare to upset the odds. Well done, Luton and Wolves.
