Maybe we haven’t quite got the recruitment right?
astro replied to Monty13's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
We’ve still got enough, and let’s not forget the talent we’ve loaned out as surplus, to walk this league. The tactics, concentration, fitness, fight and general team spirit, have all gone backwards since Smith took over. -

Don’t worry, they’ll be flinging insults and questioning people’s allegiance/sanity/intelligence (delete as appropriate) at some point soon 👍 -

Today’s game is simply pointless without Kenny. -
Brentford about to get slapped?

I think it’s now a double chance! Smith goes back to Villa or Frank goes to villa and Smith goes back to Brentford. How is the Walsall management situation at present? Could be a hat trick of opportunities! -

You are funny 😁 I would imagine it’s difficult to stand on feet with so many holes in them isn’t it? -

Ah, the Militant Smith Collective is out in force again today. Just time to fire off a few salvoes of insults and derogatory comments towards those who don’t agree with them, before scuttling back behind their monitors should Sheffield whoop our bottoms. -
They could do far worse 👍

Swindon to win at home to Hartlepool is my six pick. For the Norwich bet, PP currently have City at 2/1 for a win - decent odds for a game we have every chance of winning, despite our recent form. Best of luck to Jellytot and Indy. 👍 -
I think you need to be careful what you wish for! It is indeed a very tricky period for the club. In some ways, Farke’s sacking was a free hit for Webber. Now he has to decide whether to stick or twist - each, or indeed both, could go badly wrong - but I still believe promotion is imperative for the club’s financial stability. After having his free hit, the pressure is really on our SD now.

and now you're gonna believe us!

It seems like a major player in the Militant Smith Collective has had a bit of a meltdown. -
Shame we haven’t got a tall, stout defender who appreciates the chance he’s been giving and thus is willing to give his all for the cause. The type that installs fight into his team mates without resorting to hideous tackles. Miss you Zimbo!

And a Sarr goal 👍 -
That would have been the irrelevant thread about Barcelona then……

Yeah but if we get promoted, there will still not be a spot for him because a lot of the current side will either have been replaced or sat on the bench.

This week I suggest Swindon to beat Colchester. For the Norwich bet - more than 2.5 goals. Best of luck to those making the picks 👍 -

They may not have a good enough record of signing injured players…. -

I think the sun was a big factor in both their third, and our first. For both, the keepers moved a fraction too late as they possibly couldn’t see the ball coming. That said, Tim does seem to have lost that composure he had, and Angus has to take up the mantle at some point.

I’m just not sure his current job and performance level couldn’t have been fulfilled by one of our own. If he was playing like Skipp, then it would be totally justifiable that he gets a game each week, but he’s not. Dowell or Sinani would have done the same job, with the same hit and miss performance I reckon.

I agree we could quite easily have been out of sight early on, but the worry for me was that Preston then changed tactics and played a higher line, and we were at a loss to play through them. I could see there goal coming and if I could see it, then the management surely saw it, yet we did nothing. When we did do something, it seemed we just threw players on in a hope of turning it around, yet there was no change in set up as such, apart from ending up with a 4-0-6 formation and losing what hint of a shape we had. I’m sorry, but after a year of him being here, I’m still, not convinced by Smith. I sincerely hope he rams my words straight back down my mouth, but I can’t see it happening.

I think he found it hard to get involved yesterday. As said, he’s young and he’s learning, which would be fine if he was one of our own. Would much rather see one of our own players play.
