  1. Not a huge fan of what Craig Charles brings but otherwise I like the daytime schedules on 6 - Cerys Matthews really grates me. Happy to pay the licence fee for it alone, far better than Spotify procrastination. There's quite a good Nick Cave & the Badseeds live set on BBC iPlayer.
  2. Can I borrow your charger?
  3. Terribly unlucky on a personal level for Adam and the club. Feel for him - so easily injured and very difficult to repair, the meniscus that is. I have some personal experience of it and it took over a year to be pain free, although I'm sure his treatment will be better! I certainly couldn't play more than once a week afterwards.
  4. Is it at all possible that language is an issue, or at least part of it? Greeks do learn English but dependent on his background he probably is nowhere near fluent. I might be being naive, but if he cannot understand the tactical briefings, what his team mates are saying, etc. etc. he's going to struggle. It might explain why he is being kept around our squad and not playing, as opposed to being pushed further out of his comfort zone and another unfamiliar club, and not back to Greece where he's back in his comfort zone. I can remember language was always talked as an issue for foreign players in the 90s with integrating into new sides, but it's never mentioned now. Again, I might be being naive, he may be plugged into the meta-verse through Google translate lug-hole adaption kits.
  5. We are Boreham Wood, they are Bournemouth. Engage beast mode.
  6. He hasn't played in the Premiership since he was with Celtic.
  7. We didn't have 2 in the middle other than on the big screen. Kenny's job was 100% to follow Connor Gallagher which he did a pretty decent job of, so we actually only had PLM in there for most of the game. It was one of those games where every knock down and loose ball went to the opposition too, we rode our luck but Palace weren't without a bit of it themselves.
  8. I think it's just BT's global partnership with ESPN, not ESPN in the UK. This could all be set to change as BT sport is set to be sold https://www.reuters.com/business/media-telecom/exclusive-dazn-nears-deal-buy-bt-sport-an-estimated-800-mln-sources-2022-01-12/
  9. I agree I think it's highly unlikely Leicester will join the pack. Villa may be there on points at the moment but their squad now looks like a top 8 team after the January window. Leicester on the other hand have done nothing and are missing Vardy. Brentford's form is abysmal they are on the long slide and will be with us come the end of the season. Eriksen was a marquee signing but isn't going to be involved for weeks apparently. Everton are terrible. Full stop. Without Richarlison they are nothing. Palace's form is poor, beating them tonight would make them contenders too, although I think they are probably too strong to get drawn in. Given our terrible start I'm just glad there is some remote hope now.
  10. I'd definitely advocate multiple ticket account discounts since I have my own and 2 U18s to pay for - Perhaps it's reasonable to expect a 16+ YO to contribute to a ticket price but between 12-16 this is coming from the bank of mum and dad. Although I have let them go unsupervised (albeit dropped and picked up) kids of that age, especially 12-14, are generally accompanied by a paying adult. I'm in 2 minds whether to renew. I'd set my stall out that anything above 9% was a definite cancellation and that a 6% or less was acceptable. Unfortunately, as Kirsty Allsop has shown quite publicly, privilege is blind to the struggles of working class people, young adults and families.
  11. Had me pulling my hair out, then I realised.

That's the problem. I'm not sure how cycle paths are decided upon but I've never been able to use them, and believe me I'd much rather use them than dice with death with Nissan Navara man or BMW XBoll0k mum. They need to be provisioned with every new footpath and resurface not cobbled in in the odd place they fit. On my route to the station there's a section of cycle path about 200m long, 2 junctions in it and I know I'll need to stop at the end to get onto the road, so I just use the road, it's a total waste of money that's just used by people walking their dogs. The Riverside path resurfacing project would have been the ideal opportunity to add a cycle path, it's a narrow busy road and at peak times bikes do hold up traffic.
  13. I think Everton will have goals in them but will leak like a sieve. Going to be goals and an even match. 3-3, stick that in your acca.
  14. Life has an idiot problem. He should be aware that you don't f**k with cats, Netflix even released a documentary to prove it (which is good, if disturbing). On a serious note. If he can do that to a cat, he's probably not too bothered about doing that to his wife, kid, girlfriend, guy in a pub. A well recorded link between animal cruelty and psychopathy.
  15. Am I the only one looking at each team's list and going 'not an easy run in', and then realising that there just aren't any easy games, not one. I think we're just as likely to get a point out of Man City as we are anyone else. Such a tough league.
  16. Hwang is injured I think (I was going to transfer him into my fantasy team when he's fit)
  17. I'm not horrified by the thought, but a better defender behind Rashica seems to be working well, probably Byram. I do bloomin' love Onel though, I bet the Brum fans do now as well.
  18. Hernandez and JL played well together, OH would cover for JL when he was caught higher up the pitch - they were good down that left side. Maybe Birmingham should look at getting the band back together.

So, they've shut Riverside road again. For the first time since they shut it last time around I've used the new 'permeable' path. Imagine if you gave some 9 year olds 50 tonnes of tarmac and told them to fill a hole. It's a disgrace, it's so bad I do wonder if it's even finished, I haven't got a clue. God knows how much NCC have 5punked on that job just to clear out a budget. I wonder how those trees managed to survive for hundreds of years, next to a river, without permeable paving. For those who don't travel into the city often Riverside Road is shut in 1 direction and will cause issues on matchdays for a while.
  20. Not really getting ahead of anything, just proposing that Newcastle's millions may well have been better spent not giving their (and our) rivals a large budget in the transfer window buying an average player. Burnley seem to have spent some of it well and their owners have some pocket money. Newcastle have a £10m striker they paid £25m for. Wood has scored 3 goals this season from 19 starts, can't imagine Burnley fans are too bothered in having a new head to launch balls at. I hope both Newcastle and Burnley continue to be total tripe.
  21. Username on Twitter. I think it's a private account though.
  22. I think my argument is that actually the £25m is reasonable value to them had it actually weakened Burnley (which appears to be the strategy), but it seems it hasn't, so, why didn't they just go out and buy a better striker - like Weghorst. They've essentially (potentially) funded Burnley's improvement and given them some pin money. It just looks really naïve from a Newcastle perspective.
  23. It's interesting purely because Wood was only worth £25m to Newcastle, he's probably a £10m player to anyone else. Burnley got lucky and found a potential upgrade and pocketed the rest. Newcastle on the other hand could and probably should have bought Weghorst for £15m, but their gamble in trying to weaken their opponents has fallen slightly flat. I used to have a grudging admiration for Burnley in being able to survive but their playing of the postponement system has erased any goodwill I had for them. I hope Weghorst is an absolute donkey's backside and flops like bojo's hair after a work meeting.
  24. To be fair it has meant Normann could be back playing for us in the next league game. It also let Ivan Toney go and make a total bell-piece of himself on social media.
  25. I don't think we have enough to keep us in the league either tbh but we're competitive enough to keep it interesting for a little while longer.
