I just cant see us escaping!
Hairy Canary replied to TwoSheds's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Well surely the opposite is also true Howson. The four games before that little group are all winnable so you could just as easily argue that our confidence will be high at that point. If we were to play 4 top teams consecutively, with the knock to confidence that would come from 4 probable defeats and then go into 4 games against winnable opposition then that would be a bigger problem as far as I''m concerned. -
I was thinking the same thing myself. There has to be a tipping point somewhere where the club loses it''s identity. Say we had to play in light blue and we''re called Norwich sharks or some such. Would you really feel it was the same club? For me I would stay and protest. Keep wearing the yellow shirt and city till I die sort of thing but if over time newbies came and started to accept the new idea then eventually I think I would have to go

Hughton saved his job today...
Hairy Canary replied to Juggy's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
Since the Man City game we have taken nine points from five games, despite having a number of high profile injuries. That is some response under pressure and Hughton deserves considerable credit for that -
Your choice from the next manager menu?
Hairy Canary replied to Tetteys Jig's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
You can''t confining yourself to the names on that list. When Southampton and West Brom appointed Pochettino and Clarke the reaction was pretty much "who"?! The reason not to change can''t be because there''s nobody any better out there. -

Slowly, But Surely......

But not with *** ker apparently. -
To be fair he never mentioned that the teams we''ve played are above us. He said they were in the top half. Not sure it particularly relevant unless our performances improve but never the less it is an indisputable fact.

SYG Said " Not gutless at all, 36/37 defeats out of 50 games in charge is not good enough at all! He has to go" Where did you get this rubbish from. I know we all have our opinions and as it happens I think its time for a change but making stuff up like this is pretty prro

Fun! I''m dreading it.

Other results won''t matter a jot if we can''t get to at least 38 points. It''s our results that matter.

We drew the last 88 minutes
Hairy Canary replied to crabbycanary's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
There isn''t a team in any league that wouldn''t be happy to draw the remainder of the game after they''ve gone ahead! It means they win. I''ve heard some desparate arguments but good grief! -

From 3-2 to 7-0.

We were mathematically safe before the game kicked off -
Perhaps someone could explain why Man City were on the beach because they had nothing to play for yet this doesn''t apply to us. We also had nothing to play for on that last day as we were mathematically safe too. Why weren''t we on the beach with Man City? I think Hughton''s time is up but quite honestly this sort of argument for why he should go is pants.

RvW and his part in the Fer 'goal'
Hairy Canary replied to The Great Mass Debater's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
In fairness surely Marshall positioned himself for RVW to throw the ball straight to him. There was no reason for the ball to go to Fer at all -
The bizarre Howson situation
Hairy Canary replied to Citizen Journalist Foghorn's topic in Main Discussion - Norwich City
He doesn''t put his foot in though does he. He has good quality but tracking back and tackling are not his strengths. Now we have Fer who adds the bite we missed last year we can afford to let Howson get forward and he looks much better for it. Hughton deserves credit for strengthening in the right place to allow this to happen, not being called a fracking anything. -
I can''t see what he said makes him a Thatcherite anymore than Ed Miliband is a socialist

Of course some of the abuse (not criticism) that Hughton gets is racist. It would be naive in the extreme to think otherwise. There have been two public examples on social media and these people are hardly likely to be alone. All clubs have an element of racist fans and that, unfortunately, includes us. LDC has taken a huge impossible to prove leap in suggesting that this may be the root of some of the criticism Hughton gets as he (like me) is a Hughton supporter and doesn''t feel the level of angst against him can be justified by football reasons alone. That is bound to be seen as offensive. Lets be clear - it is offensive. There will be racists out there who can''t judge Hughton fairly because of their prejudice but the vast majority are simply expressing an opinion based on football and to them you have crossed a very sensitive line.
