The only real issue was Gibsons injury as the team had no other CB to replace him. Instead of playing Byram or Warner - he puts Sorensen at CB and ruined the midfield. All we hear is that Skipp was not replaced and that we have no DM. We do!. When Sorensen plays in hai position , results have been generally good. He is not as good as Skipp. He just needs a run of games which he NEVER gets. Gibbs can then go further forward where he did well at Blackburn. Small changes make all the difference at Champ level. Instead Sorensen gets dumped at LB or CB whenever there is an injury crisis and is then unfairly judged when results are poor. Hanley and MCLean are not big losses. Hanley is too cumbersome and McLean does not offer goals, assists or wonderful through balls from an attacking sense (check his stats since arrival) and does not offer the defensive platform either. I am therefore mystified as to why he is so missed?. I don’t care who he plays at CB next match but f###ing play Sorensen at DM and we might get some results before the end of the season.

This game would have been a different result putting the right midfield in tonight. Why didn’t he put Byram in at CB?. Instead all people do is complain we are missing McLean. What are we missing ? His goals, assists, through balls, free kicks or his defensive midfield skills or none of the above .

Not playing Sorensen in midfield has cost the season. It’s the midfield where the game gets lost every time. When Sorensen plays as a DM, the team wins most of the time. Unbelievably bad decision not to put someone else at CB.

Feared the worst at kick off playing Sorensen in defence and pushing Gibbs back. Presume Byram wasn’t fit enough to start. Can only hope next game we get another centre back in. The Sorensen and Sara centre midfield looked good.

Sorensen slated for playing at right back . Why don’t we put him at striker or goalkeeper next game!. FFS play him in midfield .

Yes- we can make the play offs. Only mistake Wagner made at the weekend was not to play a defensive midfielder. My heart sank when I saw the team selection for Sunderland and feared the worst. Regardless of style or what the team is up against- the team needs a DM. Every team needs one. Sorensen should play every game to the end of the season as he is the only one we have. I will be amazed if we are outside the top 6 if he does this simple thing.

Ridiculous that people think Sorensen is only good enough as a squad player. He has played a handful of games in his preferred position and is the only DM that the club has apart from Gibbs. How can he be judged on that?.The team still looks suspect defensively and a bit of ballast in midfield is what is required . Every team needs some sort of DM and it’s not hard to see why we keep giving up chances. If Kenny must play- play him further up the pitch..

Agreed. He would be better suited at top of a diamond midfield or in an advanced position in a 4-4-2.

Kenny often plays in the wrong position. He is now- he is effectively our DM currently. He is not one. People keep saying that there is no DM option at the club. There is Lungi. That is his position. People say that he is not good enough. How do we know? He has never had a run of games. The only couple of times he did play was alongside McLean which was doomed to fail. He has been unlucky with injuries . As for McLean he has more than justified his pittance of a transfer fee but I don’t see how he fits into a 4-3-3.

At least McLean is not playing so think we will get something. (Hopefully not a thrashing!)

Blades 0- City 1. Why the optimism ? Simple- McLean will definitely not be playing.

Every cloud has a silver lining…. The undroppable Mclean cannot now be picked. We might be able to win the next 3 games and he will hopefully never make our 1st XI again.

Gunn Byram Hanley Gibson Aarons Hernandez Gibbs Sara Cantwell Pukki Sergeant Anyone but McLean . Just play 3 or 4 games without him and see what happens. Hayden and Gianoullis are a must as soon as fit to start.

Ridiculous. Plays a couple of games and he is deemed rubbish. It does not help that he is partnered with McLean. He is there predominantly to stop goals and break up play. We conceded on Saturday due to playing out from the back (again). He should get a run of games and then judge him. We can certainly judge McLean by now!!.

We finally have the midfield best combination. Sorensen, Normann and Lees Melou. Shame it’s taken till the last game to do it. May even have a chance!

Please sell him. He is a jack of all trades but definitely master of nothing. We need to keep Sorensen , Rupp and PLM and get in at least one other. Sorensen is the only natural DM we have so of course we never play him!!. McLean cannot fill that role.

Got to agree with Pete. Lunacy. I can’t agree with those saying that none of the midfield are good enough . How do we know? We haven’t even tried. Give Sorensen Rupp and PLM some game time together and see if it works . If it doesn’t then we can say we tried everything . Saw team sheet today and we had lost before we even got on the pitch.

Playing Gilmour and McLean will automatically relegate us. We played better with Sorensen and PLM. These guys with Normann further up should be tried. Was hoping Sorensen would get a run of games but then he got injured. It’s surely worth a go as we can’t play any worse. We had a chance to get out of the bottom three but switching back to McLean and Gilmour has and will cost us.

So pleased he is back. Deserves a regular start in either full back slot and a real asset for the club

Has to be Normann and Sorensen. Sorensen is the only traditional DM we have. Normann is more progressive. It was no coincidence we started to lose our way against Watford when Sorensen had to come off. If one of them is out for any reason - PLM and Rupp come in. Anyone but McLean- he gives no goals, no assists, no killer pass or great tackling. What does he do?.

For me- 100 points. Bournemouth(H)- W- They are in good form but so are we. Win and we are promoted. Watford(H)- W- Like Swansea and defensively minded but do have Sarr who is the difference . Not best travellers though. QPR(A)- D- Almost sneaked a win at CR. They might make it tricky again. Reading(H)- W- Up and down with their form. Suspect they will have nothing to play for. Barnsley(A)- D- Caused us as many problems as anyone in league. Suspect their need for points will far outweigh our own. Our home form even without fans has been top draw this season and I can’t see us dropping points at CR.

I don’t think it will be close. I can see us beating all of Watford Bournemouth and reading at home . The fixtures played into our hands and we played all our hard away games by Xmas . We have lost once at home all season and that was a fluke defeat to derby at start of season. Barnsley away will be our hardest game and that’s the last one. The centre back problem is an issue but we have coped with injuries admirably throughout the season.

Watford’s resurgence will end at Carrow road. They hardly blew away Sheffield weds today.

Must admit the visit of Watford will be a concern. Our home form is not that good- lost once all season!.
