1.
Given that Webber has said he wants to get any ''business'' done sooner rather than later can we expect players joining in the upcoming weeks ?I would have thought that the emphasis would be on getting players in first then seeing who needs to leave. I''m fairly certain some are already earmarked to leave but won''t depart until the right players are in.Next season the requirement of homegrown players in the match day squad increases to 7, with an added requirement that at least one club developed player must also be included. How much this will impact on the signings will have to be seen.
No, Ben, Webber;s emphasis is on getting players out first that need to leave, and after  that get players in. But as i said elsewhere, i think the busiest guy right now may be Neil Adams, as i suspect many in and out loans maybe in the pipeline before we actually see any permanents in and out.Latest rumours seem to be us going in for a loan on either Henderson at Man U or Ward at Liverpool for goalkeeper, interest in Paddy McNair at Sunderland, which does not excite me, and Paul Warne raiding us to take Raggett and Godfrey on loan. Would not be surprised if the in / out loans far exceed the actual in / out permanents in this current window.
2.
Maddison didn’t do his ACL. An ACL injury is usually 9 months out and generally ha da negative impacts for the rest of the players career and they tend to recur. He’ll do incredibly well to play again in 2018 and wouldn’t be a massive shock if he didn’t get fit for the entire 2018/19 season. Real shame for the player and the club. Morris came away from Shrewsbury with positive reviews and could have probably made a decent fee in the summer window.
Was trying to allude to the fact that Madders did not do his ACL, by saying Carlton''s  is somewhat more serious. But when Madders first got injured there was strong talk of him doing his ACL and we all feared the worst, until his scan came thru a few days later.vlad, its debatable if Carlton''s injury was made worse by him carrying on, also we have no idea what or if any Shrews staff advised him to come off or not. All i can see is that it was a Play off final at Wembley and for a young guy like Carlton, they dont happen to often. His mind was naturally willing him to carry on as much as he could, cant blame him for that.
3. I dont know about a few months, it sounds like Carlton''s ACL is somewhat more serious than Maddison''s ACL injury. Such bad luck to have two City guys who scored some goals thru the season to both get a similar injury in the last game of their respective seasons. The jury was out as to wether Carlton Morris could have been in Farke''s plans for  the start of the new season, but this puts paid to that.He is a young guy so hopefully can heal up and get his fitness back quicker than it would seem at the moment. Wish him well for that.
4. Looking back on where we finished in DF''s first full season here, its amazing really how, even after 46 games in what is a long gruelling season.we were not all that far in reality at being either in the top 6 or bottom 6. Another 5 wins would have seeing us edging into the play offs, another 5 defeats would have seen us edging into the bottom 6.Never mind the style of play, goals scored or conceded, the positive City fans will hope and believe DF  can find us another 5 wins from his team over last season, while the negative City fans will be looking at the prospect of 5 more defeats. Such is the fine margins between good and bad, success and failure, even after a nine month season.
5. The things the media will do to run a poll...ive no personal thought or verdict of my own concerning Madders, other than id love of course to see him playing for City as long as possible. As to any verdict on his future...the only one that matters is the one made by himself.
6. A fair few posters talk about our club in the context of how we could not only get promoted but also become an established prem club. In reality, it will become increasingly harder each season to get into the Prem while  talk of becoming established there is absurd and nonsensical. Apart from a handful of usual suspects at the top, no other clubs in the Prem are established, Stoke made a good bash at trying, but they to have succumbed, so to think that our club could stay even 3 to 5 seasons in the Prem, never mind 10, is a pipedream. So to the coming season, with absolutely no idea what to expect, least of all as its still only May and much activity could and likely will happen in the intervening time. I dont go along with the "calmer quieter, less transitioning" period than last years summer close season, im of the opinion that nearly as much still needs a changing as we had 12 months ago. So  a busy time for Webber and Farke for me, and also, and equally important for Neil Adams, the recent article on him highlighting how important his role is these days. I would argue his in / out loans have become more important to the club than the the time he roled as City  boss. For me, an interesting time still ahead, as much off the pitch as on it.
7. Ive no interest in how much wages he gets, how much, or not, we could or could not get for him. Im satisfied enough what Timm gives City on the pitch, would enjoy him around the place for another season, ideally with young Ragget gradually coming thru to fill his position during the course of the coming season. He will be 31 come season end, so perhaps  his contract end would be coming at a good time for City.
8. As i expected this topic has switched to all about Angus last season. Guys, Angus has had lots of comments on lots of posts over the last year or so, let it go, like he has let us go. This topic was and should be, about Remi, so just try and comment on the OP;s question yea?
9. Truth is of course that right now no one here knows how good he is. But yes he seemed to have done a good job at Plymouth and lets not forget, we just finished in the bottom half of the Championship. In my eyes the situation is tailor made now for Remi to start the season as our no. 1, and for us fans to support a local grown young man find his place as our regular no.1. The rest as they, is up to him if hes indeed given that chance. Angus had a good season with us and i wish him well in his career elsewhere, but we really have to put Angus behind us, he is destined for higher places than Carrow Road.
10.
A fascinating season, full of interest. We will be blessed if 2018-19 is equally absorbing.
This. A couple of decent runs, a couple of poor-ish runs, some really give it all displays against Arsenal and Chelsea, and still Ipswich cant beat us. A goal difference let down mainly by just 2 games, away to Millwall and Wednesday. Off the pitch Webber, Stone and Co. continue the massive transition which is absolutely vital for this club to survive in a modest and healthy way without any signs of sugar daddys or mommys. That 9 Academy players are being released shows again that Webber is not hanging around in making change.  I said at start of season, with  a wild guess, City would finish with 55-65 points, so spot on, and 12th place, let down on the final day. Oh well. So, not a great season, not a disaster either, but Purple is spot on, fascinating and absorbing.
11. Nice report ricardo and yes, had to be Wes''s fay today all round. Happy you found your ticket to, in between your teeth.
12. A few things are pretty likely, going on the last couple of Webber windows, in that the start of the close season will be the outgoings time, and we have seen Webber does not hang around with outgoings, so expecting him to be quite ruthless as usual, even though of course the Naismiths, Martins, Wildschuts may present a sticky situation. Then will be a period of seemingly no activity and as the weeks roll on, some fans will get impatient and wonder who and if at all we are going to get incoming. Then out of the blue guys  come in.Im not going to guess who  goes out and who comes in, but wont be surprised if it reaches double figures, especially the outs.
13.
When I saw Louis thought we were going to have another debate on the Royal Family
Louis Arthur Daly Thomson..a mish mash of a Cockney minder Prince who has posted 1881 times in the pink un and was once a useful athlete who now plays football.
14. No question, all City fans will regard him forever as a true City legend. Is fitting our club is yellow and green, for Wes has been our gem, an Emerald in a sea of yellow for the past 10 years. Wish him well for the future, whatever he does, his welcome will be warm whenever he comes back home to the Carra.
15. Dont see shipping out Big Timm as the major priority in the close season, even if he is on big wages. Can only see Basel as a potential move for him, otherwise i see many good reasons to keep him here for another season. Unlike Naismith, who signed for City at the same time as Timm, he has played regular for us, has been the lynchpin between the old Martin / Bassong / Bennett era and the current guys of Hanley, Zimm etc, and above all Timm loves the club and loves the area to.To be Franke, Wild Shoot, Neighs Miff, Russell and Tettey are issues that need sorting before any thoughts should turn to getting rid of our big Timm. Wes is one thats already sorted, hoping to hear at least some news on these other guys.
16.
So is nobody hoping he''s going to come back and spearhead a promotion push for us next year? What with Hoolahan leaving and Maddison likely too as well, I guess he''s a player we either need to sell (hopefully without losing too much in paying his wages) or play
To be honest i dont think Farke rates him as the type of guy to spearhead a DF team next season, Daniel saw enough of him to let him make his eventual move to Hearts. Only a guess but, i suspect it will be "as you were" with Naismith, in that City will bite the bullet and accept they will have to pay the majority of his wages till end contract, as they did with Lafferty, and agree to let him play for Hearts again for all of next season.
17.
lincoln canary (& Golden Coppel) wrote the following post at 2018-04-03 12:08 AM: Hampton - Farke already has his own squad. There isn’t going to be any large overhaul this summer. The majority of next seasons squad is already here. What? Wes, Tettey, Leitner, Gunn, Reed are not likely to wear the city shirt after this season. And Oliveira isn’t good enough to wear it! No large overhaul? Really. I suggest there will be, simply to replace those listed!
Agree with this. And along with Wes, Tettey, Leitner, Gunn, Reed and Oliveira that  were mentioned Klose and Maddison are likely to go, also there is Martin, Naismith and Wildschut to sort out to when they return. That is 11 players, so anyone who thinks another big change wont happen this summer is kidding themselves. Yes the last 2 windows had big changes, but the job is far from done yet, much comings and goings this close season ahead.
18. He is talking about City, but even if the club and he agreed to mutually end the contract at end of this season, would Hearts be in a position to pay him a decent wage for him to stick there?  I would think that could be a bigger stumbling block to staying at Hearts than wondering whats going to happen at this end.
19. Result that was always expected today. I said ages ago, towards the start of Fulhams long unbeaten run, they would be the team to scorch up the table, just as they did the last time they got promoted to the Prem, very hard to beat and at times unplayable. They are heading for the top two, while our season peters out with DF still trying to find that formula to get us scoring / winning most weeks.Going to be a pretty disapointing end to the season and a long summer for DF and Webber.
20. Seem to be enough of our ex managers playing with yo yo''s right now. AN took us up then down, he could do same at PNE, Hughton took Brighton up, Lambert is wearily trying to avoid the drop at Stoke. Not really bothered what any of them do, only guy who matters is DF.
21. Yep, lets hope our forwards are more biting today than the wind, thou i doubt  they will be, tis all brave souls facing that bracing air today at the Carra.
22. The coming summer window, followed by the next season, may still be to soon in my opinion for the current set up to deliver enough to get us into the top 6, and i think some fans are expecting to much to think otherwise, given the huge overhaul at the club and the financial drop in revenue.Having said that, i to, as well as every fan, should expect nothing less than an improve on this season. For sure DF''s continued patience from the fans will only remain if home form and more importantly, home offensiveness, is much improved. Another season of drab 0-0 draws  against the Burtons and Boltons wont cut the mustard. 12/12/12 after 36 games is about as mid table as you can get, dont want to see that next season, even if ricardo  does expect it.
23. Looking at the season and how DF is trying to build a certain style of playing and with how results have gone, i just wonder if the style and manner of his system is best suited to the Prem more than the Champs. We certainly gave Chelsea and Arsenal good opposition. Yes absolutely we had to shed our old defence from last year and get a new defence who  started to actually defend, but in this division a performance and result such as todays is always likely at some point, even with overall good defensive displays most the season. Its ironic really but if we had last seasons Alex Neil type attacking attitude with this seasons DF''s defence attitude, we would  have cakewalked this division, somehow Farke has to find a way to marry the two and we will be top two material, no doubting.
24.
Must admit I''d like to see this lot let off the leash in Lambert style especially now we effectively have 10 games to experiment We might concede a few but I bet we''d score a hatful with a higher pace and more directness.
But you know its just not going to happen this season. DF  will keep to his kind of style and what we seen at home all season will carry onto May. The summer, with its transfer window, will be likely the most important window for Webber and Farke and while the fans will hold patience for this season, if there is not any improvement in points and goals in the next season, come around Christmas, its not hard to see the City fans start to really vent their frustrations, by then having held patience for 18 months. So for me, there is still time yet, but no football fan will forever accept constant 0-0 home results, least of all City fans.
