Matt Juler 211 Posted May 5, 2011 QPR mate at work thinks it''s bad news and they don''t want to announce it prior to their final match due to potential trouble etc.

Show Me What You Gooot! 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Must be more than a fine now surely? I was one of the ones who thought it would just be a big fine and a slipped wrist as well.

ricardo 8,034 Posted May 5, 2011 This is clearly bad news for QPR. If it were just a matter of a fine or a not guilty verdict there would be no problem announcing a verdict before Saturday. A guilty verdict and a possible points deduction or relegation would have serious implications for a number of teams in the playoff places.I have always thought a verdict before Saturdays games could put the integrity of the QPR V Leeds game in danger. The FA obviously want to protect the integrity of that game as it could have a bearing on the playoffs. On the QPR board they seem to think this is good news as they think the final places are set in stone when the final whistle blows Saturday. They may very well be allowed to keep their first place but still be denied promotion to the PremiershipI still believe that what we are talking about here is either a fine or a relegation with the latter being the most likely. pete 371 Posted May 5, 2011 Obviously QPR have not been cleared of all charges.

Beetley Yellow 57 Posted May 5, 2011
QPR mate at work thinks it''s bad news and they don''t want to announce it prior to their final match due to potential trouble etc.
I maybe reading too much into this, but it is significant that it is Leeds (currently 7th) at QPR Saturday. Say the decision is QPR are docked 18 points, suddenly that game becomes huge. And a stadium full of subsequently ''hacked off'' Rangers fans and a couple of thousand jubilant (reprieved) Leeds fans would be a potent mix (........ all Police leave in West London cancelled I reckon). The decision postponement is significant though- if there was nothing being affected by the decision (e.g. a fine, transfer embargo or points deduction next season) surely it the verdict would be announced before Saturday? This would be the worrying aspect were I a QPR fan.On the ''this season / next season'' issue with the punishment, could it not be argued that the descsion has already been made, albeit not announced? As mentioned by others in the other thead, I think there is a real possiblility of the solution being letting QPR play their last game, get presented with the trophy and having their ''moment in the sun''. And then relegate them back to the Championship, with only two clubs promoted into the PL, us and the PO winner. But who cares, it''s not our worry- let''s enjoy Saturday[:D] [:D] [:D]

Ruddygore 0 Posted May 5, 2011 Never been surer than now that we will be crowned Champions shortly after 4 pm on Saturday.
spudgfsh 0 Posted May 5, 2011 All this speculation does make one bold assumption which may be challenged by future events....The FA/FL know what they are doing. The FA and the FL have a history of proving otherwise. The English footballing authorities showed their incompetence time and again.Don''t make any assumptions on what has/has not been decided and the timing/size of any punishment (if QPR are found guilty)
PKC 0 Posted May 5, 2011 My thoughts on this, for what it is worth, is that QPR are going to get a big points deduction. The delay is to allow the lawyers to examine the ruling with a fine tooth comb to prevent any chance of a succesful appeal. If they were going to be found not guilty or just hit with a fine then the decision could be announced as scheduled. The fact that the potential play off sides already go down to 7th means that Leeds would have been advised that the play offs would be going ahead as planned; so the two are not mutually exclusive.Of course I could be way off track but I would be very concerned if I were a QPR fan. Lambert is King 0 Posted May 5, 2011 On the face of it relegation is on the cards. Just dont understand why the trophy is being presented Saturday to QPR. Has anyone actually seen the FL saying this or is it just QPR ?Of course there is one other simple explanation that new evidence has come to light that the panel must investigate but why not say ? HazzaJet 267 Posted May 5, 2011 If I was a QPR player, I personally wouldn''t want to be presented with the trophy until the final decision had been made. If they celebrate the title and then are docked points a few days later, they will have every opposing fan laughing at them.
Smeg 0 Posted May 5, 2011 the way i see it, is that they are waiting for the final league table, so they can deduct only enough points for QPR to remain in second, thereby punishing them, but giving them enough to get away with.. i.e promotion, so they dont appeal
