CRAZY LEGS

reading vs qpr tonight

Recommended Posts

ordapense if we are aiming for top of the league or play offs. Hucks said on twitter that we could do with Reading beating QPR tonight, I''m indifferent I think, would be nice to QPR get another beating though

no, this league''s too tight, and if qpr lose and we win tomorrow, we''re 2 pts off them - bringing them more into the mix, and meaning the top two places are up for grabs, rather than one. i don''t see reading being challengers at the end of the season, whereas there are a lot of other teams that will be. so a definite reading win for me, as it gives us more chance of an automatic.

good point, I would also like Watford to beat Forest tomorrow, they have a couple of games in hand and we could do with them losing their winning streak and magnificant home record

Let''s hope Reading come at QPR as they came at us in the second half when we had Holt wrongly sent off there.

A bit harsh but Hogan Ephraim off. Reading on top last 10 minutes. [:D]

Colin not happy at all.... LOL
To be fair, in full speed it looked like an awful challenge due to the height and pace he went in at. Looking at it in slow motion you can see there wasn''t much contact, but can''t really blame the referee for sending him off. Compare that to Holt''s sending off at the same ground and you would think it''s a bit more justified!

QPR are dirty bastards, thought the red card was justified and hope Hill gets another yellow to get sent off too, the more players they have suspended the more points they are likely to lose.

Cmon Reading [:D]

hopefully this home defeat will play into our favour, they have haven''t lost at home for a while untill probably now, so they might visit us next Saturday slightly down in confidence, with hopefully Shane Long still with a hip problem
Away from home at a difficult venue, down to ten men, scoring a late goal to win 1-0?  The stuff of champions, that.
Let''s hope that''s what their players/fans are thinking.Cos that mentality worked wonders for us re. Leeds last season.

Well real difference is QPR in January window invested in experienced striker(s) to back up existing squadand that will see them cross finishing line.We just havent got that money or risk takers on board with money so I suspect best we can hope is to sneak in via play offs like Blackpool.Even tomorrow we will be playing against Charlie Austin who would have loved to see come here, the heady days of Huckerby investment at critical time are goneMaybe next year will have better squad but I struggle to see Lambert staying if a Premiership team come calling

Can''t disagree with that, as you say QPR could afford to invest in another 3 players in the January window a decision that I think will easily see them finish top.

Having watched the game Reading were very poor the 2nd half and on that performance I dont see them finishing top 6.

I''m not bothered about QPR. If they win the league I don''t care as long as we come second.

Going 8 points behind could hopefully drive our players on to reduce the gap tomorrow but at this stage it isn''t a huge points gap, although the performance and team spirit of QPR made them look like serious promotion candidates.

We are scraping by at the moment but we were good enough to both beat QPR  and snatch a draw from the jaws of a win this season so have to hope we can get back to form. We do deserve to be where we are.

The key thing is to win and let the rest sort themselves out. Some will drop points this weekend - invariably Cardiff or Swansea or both - we just have to hope it''s not us.  Ideally, Forest will slip up against free scoring Watford.

It is going to be tough breaking away from the group. QPR may have acheived that but for the rest it will probably come down to consistency and mental strength.  I fully expect five clubs to be interested in second spot up to the wire.

Burnley looks really tough and it would be fascinating to know what PL was doing this week to lift his squad and steel them to break out of their malaise. We have to hope we will not play as badly as we did on Tuesday for a long time and having got it out of our system bounce back as we have always done under PL - usually after a defeat - which we almost suffered from Millwall.

An 8 point gap starts to look like a breakaway - this run-in is going to be a serious test of each team''s mental resolve! We need to pick up 3 points just about everywhere we play simply to keep in touch...
pity we didn''t show a bit more reslove when we  went down to 10 men at reading  and we had a 3-1 league to protect.. and we had half time to get organised  instead we just invited reading on to us ..
But the difference between the two was who it was that was sent off. If we got down to 10 men the most important player for us would be Grant Holt. But unfortunately, and wrongly, it was Holt who was sent off. So 10 men and nobody up top to hold the ball up was why it appeared "we just invited Reading on to us". If the same thing happens tomorrow we would cope with it better because Rickyyyyy''s wheelibin (Wilbraham) could come on and take Holts place. Surely there''s just one example of how we strengthened the squad in the January window.

You say that but weren''t we reported to have bid a 7 figure sum for a league one winger at the start of this week?!. If we really were bidding that kind of money, I woul rather it had gone toward a striker??

Excellent point, nutty nigel, and AWESOME point, largey!

For all those Grant Holt deniers at the start of the season and beyond, he has well proven his value to the team as a leader and goal scorer, regardless of whatever supposed deficiancies he had in his limited past exposure to this division. When he''s out, we suck compared to when he''s in!
