This would be very good - I hope (once they are finally out of birmingham) the thought of thuggish fans and peter ridsdale at the other two mentioned clubs pushes them our way.

Can I be the first to call for some perspective on this. Until we hear otherwise this is casual speculation. So unless serious offers are tabled let''s not get our buns in a twist as we have so often before. Worth keeping an eye on though.

Totally agree, we are one of a number of clubs suggested in the article.

I fear she will do what she does best, and pour cold water on it, she is like a little toffee nose kid that won''t let anyone play with her Doll''s house. Butwe can all live in hope with the believeing thought That everyone has a price, And perhaps it will be to good to turn down
Do the Guardian generally ''do'' unsubstantiated rubbish?  Maybe element of truth, but all it takes is Smith n'' Jones to say, ''no deal''.  And that''s that.

Maybe not, I prefer to support my local paper than buy nationals.

Anyhow, we have all been here before with take-over talk and it''s amounted to a big fat zero so far.  So fans should try and remain guarded IMHO.
And maybe they''ll actually make an offer rather than just posturing in the press, so there is actually a possibility of her accepting something.

I didn''t say it was unsubstantiated rubbish. I said it was casual

speculation. Not necessarily by the Guardian but by Sullivan. It''s

early doors and even if they do table something it might be a p**s take

of an offer so let''s wait and see.

What would a "piss take of an offer" then?

From where I''m standing £1 is about right.

I know it''s all speculation in the press and I know Sullivan and Gold are unlikely to spend their hours trawling through football websites, but let''s imagine they did...   they see a post about themselves where several pages of bashing Delia and Wynn Jones takes place because "she wont sell blah blah blah..." and they will think "hello this is just like Birmingham City fans" .

They have said before that one of the reasons for wanting out of Birmingham is because of the hostility with the fanbase and one of them was quoted as saying the relationship had run its course and was like a marriage gone bad.

How as fans are we helping to "sell" the idea in investing in NCFC behaving like this ?
I agree, I suppose I''m trying to say is, forget the Cullum nonsense for a sec,  to my recollection this is the first  reported ''possible ownership bid'' for years.  And it''ll be interesting to see how the club plays it that''s all.  The way the club handled the Cullum situation was a complete PR balls up.

Given the recent history of this club and its directors, my first thoughts were the usual ''here we go again ...''. It''s no secret that, despite making soundings to the contrary at one stage, Smith and Jones have no intention of selling their favourite toy, but would entertain the prospect of someone giving them some more money that they could then proceed to squander in an aimless and ill-judged way.

However, the one thing that has changed for the better of late IMO, is the make up of the Board. Despite the protestations of the Stowmarket Two, I get the feeling that Bowkett and McNally would be less willing to send off the porn barons with a flea in their ear and who knows ... even talk to them!?

Clearly I''m not getting hopes up ... after all, part of our DNA as city fans means that with every one glimmer of hope is usually comes five crushing disappointments ... but once .. just once ... please let there be some substance behind this rumour!!

Go on Delia ... you know you want to ....

They seem like shifty characters to me. Weren''t they involvewd in some scandal along with Karen Brady not too many moons back?I''m not so sure they''d be the answer!

Before everyone gets rolling with the old ''club is not for sale'' chestnut, please take time to read Purple Canary''s assessment of the Cullum affair, including details of the more recent confusing comments from MWJ/Delia and Mr Harris:

Nice to also see Archant continuing the £56m ''valuation'' myth........

I would be extremely cautious about about this, they''re unlikely to consider anything until they have sold Brum and that saga has been dagging on for about four years hasn''t it? They also don''t seem like the kind of guys who would take a back seat and leave the running of the club to the CEO, I could see a lot of conflict between the two of them and McNally. Furthermore I seem to remember the two of them and Carston Jeung treated Steve Bruce rather badly when the first takeover was going through, basically totally undermining his leadership by saying that a new manager would be brought in before the deal had even gone through. Evenetually he got sick of it and upped sticks to Wigan.

I guess the big thing in their favour is that they have actually been able to attract some decent managers and as a result players to the club, which is in stark contrast to the Cook and MWJ.

"In fact it is understood the pair enquired about the situation at Carrow Road when Yeung first proposed his takeover of St Andrew''s, which ultimately fell through just before Christmas."

Are they paying you for this CUSDP???

Am I alone in being horrified at the idea of a pornographer taking over our beloved club? I''d struggle to pay money for a single match ticket, let alone a season ticket, to such dubious characters.Fortunately, as others have pointed out, this is mere speculation at the moment.Sure, Delia & Michael have made some strange decisions at times, but at least they are genuine supporters of City, unlike Gold and Sullivan.

I don''t trust them. Like I said previously, the Birmingham fans won''t mind seeing the back of them. Yes, they got a couple of promotions but they also got relegated a few times as well. I don''t mind much of their porn industry stuff, but I''m more concerned about their tenure at Birmingham.
