i think it is great to see Gunn trying Ots on the wing. He has the pace to burn so why not see if he can do a good job there.
It is a great idea, and it''s one that has been floating around on these boards for quite some while now.Just never expected Gunn to pick up on it.

It is not a good idea because he is a rubbish footballer who doesn''t seem to have so much as a functioning brain cell. We should be getting rid of him not trying to accomodate him just because he can be quite quick.

pace is one hell of an asset in this league though. The boy must have some ability with crossing etc... He came through the ranks at Liverpool so he has to have some talent in the locker... it might be right at the back but i am sure it is there! also to add to that, I think he has looked at his best when he has gone forward... so perhaps it could be a natural move... or, perhaps Gunn has little option on the wing so Semmy is filling in!?
if ever a side had mid table medicocrity stamped all over it then it''s our team for tonight
we''re still a striker short as well as a winger. Also this is only half of what i would expect to be the first 11. I know what you''re saying though. I still hope we actually pay for a decent striker. Goals win games and all that jazz.

To be honest I think this is more likely - we''re not exactly overloaded with wingers at the minute.
because he cant cross, beat a man or pick a final pass. Its alright though he has great pace to cover up some of his mistakes
His crossing is no worse than Croft''s is, and neither is his passing. And i would disagree, in that he''s fully capable of beating the oppositions defence, but only when the attitude is right. He has a good shot on him as well, and along with his turn of pace, we have a player who should be effective when cutting inside. And as he''s further away from the goal we''ll be relying less on him defensively obviously, which is surely a good thing in itself?

As one of those who has been suggesting Semmy at RM, I''m really pleased that Gunn is giving it a go.

At this stage of pre-season, it''s still all about getting match-fit and Gunn looks like playing different teams in this and the next match. With the size of the squad boosted by all the triallists, he has plenty of options whilst enabling all the players to get match-fit.

My guess would be that subs will be used freely but they haven''t been named as yet. Makes the game more interesting anyway! [:O]

Give it a go.

Semmy is one of those players who need''s a kick up the ass and a big hug. Still think he has a big part to play for us, the last time in this league, he walked it.

Good to see Spillane get a go, I think he''d make a good right-back for us next season.
