All those being negative here should just read the comments on the exeter board posted by citylad in one of the threads on here. Not a bad word said about this lad in any of the comments.

We are a league 1 club now. We are not going to be spending £1 million on any one player any more. I for one see this as a positive start to what will hopefully now be a busy period which sees 4 or 5 players arrive ahead of pre-season.

One of the things the Exeter supporters say on the forum someone posted a link to, is that he has a fantastic ''engine'' keeps himself busy and he can pass a ball.Last season too many of our players were laxidazical and seemed to be strolling about at times - if this guy is anything like Holt in terms of his fitness and work rate and can pass a ball at least as well as Mulryne then we have a half decent player on our hands at worse.Whilst my breath has not been stolen by this signing I am quietly optimistic in that he is a hard working passing player that has experienced winning. Plus he knows the area and will want this move to work out - possibly to be where he ends his career too. He is not a player looking for a final wage packet before retiring or a young player looking for a stepping stone to greater things. We represent the biggest club he has signed for and possibly could be the biggest he will sign for.If what their fans are saying is true he will cost far less than Fotheringham and if he can tackle AND pass he will already be a better player.

Listen mate I am as critical of the club as most on here and obviously am not happy at whats been going on but the immediate criticism from some on here of a signing just because most of us don''t know much about him is symptomatic of what we, as a set of fans, have become which is died in the wool moaners. yes we''ve hd a lot to moan about but there is a dnager it bacomes a mindset which then becomes very difficult to get out of.

He may turn out to be cr*p but the indications from Exeter fans are that he''s a good lad and they are very sorry to lose him so lets give him a chance shall we?

We are not going to be signing players for big money this summer. If Clingan goes then maybe we may spend a bit on a replacement and maybe we might find a couple of hundred grand for Lee but other than that we are reliant on picking up one or two bargains. We''d best all get used to that!

I defo agree with what your saying though. Apparently Gill was on less that £1,500 at Exeter. So he wouldnt be on much more than £2,500 here. I am pretty certain that Fozzy was given 7k a week last year (source:- club employee).
