FramCanary 0 Posted June 29, 2007 If you are going to be idiotic enough to allow a £3.5 buy-out clause to be inserted in the contract of a player desperate to leave his club on deadline day - when he is to leave, you ensure that an adequate replacement has already been installed. We are a laughing stock. Run by a board of clueless idiots who don''t understand the word ''ambition''.BRING BACK BOB.

FramCanary 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Well - come on then - step forward the ''new-breed'' supporter and excuse this latest debacle.Currently being baled out financially by Smiths friends - after generating a £9.3m pre-tax profit during the ''Premiership'' season & thereafter receiving £14.2m of ''parachute'' monies over the past two years. What a mess this club is in. Well - let''s hear it then. We could do with a good laugh at the moment!.
7rew 0 Posted June 29, 2007 I''ll join you (partially) in that I would like to see the back ofwhoever it is that directly negotiates the contracts at the club(before we sign any more players!)We seem to get hit with more than our fair share of stupid clauses.I would still like to give the Turners a chance to add investment andchange the ethos of the board. This has nothing to do with themas the mistake was made 18 months ago.

Would Earnshaw havecome with a higher clause or not? And Derby coming in with that bid cannot be blaimed towards the board. JohnoBono 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Lets not Panic too quick. But i must admit I don''t like it. Feels like the dirty has been done on those of us who got season tickets, renewed or fresh. We must at the very least be getting Cureton (just annouced) plus Eastwood or David Healey or the likes in to replace Earnshaw or this Board really does have NO ambition. Please lets see Marshall, a good C.Back and a quality midfielder as well. The Jury is out. Please note I said the Jury is out, Not Drury is on his way out!
Freeza 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Yes because starting the season with "board out demo''s" will definitely help things out!I don''t think anyone would have paid any more for Earnie cos of his injury, unfortunately for us, but I hope this will allow us to create a TEAM!Do we want a player at the club who doesn''t want to be here?Hindseight is a wonderful thing isn''t it pessimists but at the end of the day this does not neccesarily mean the end is nigh! "Board out demo''s" what a bloody joke, why is it that most people with a big mouth, or knowledge of the CAPSLOCK button on msg boards, are so often a hinderence and not a help.Grow up and start being a SUPPORTer. alex_ncfc 686 Posted June 29, 2007 The board are now beyond defence. To sell a player of Earnie''s quality FOR AS MUCH AS WE SIGNED HIM FOR is a disgrace, and this just backs up a sad, sad day for Norwich City.To cap it off, they think we''re mugs by signing Cureton on the same day to "soften the blow" - they need to go. And they need to go now.
milburn 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Smudger dont you say that you wont go to any games because you dont want to give any money to the current board? So it is realy good to see that you wont do that to support the eam u say u love but you are more than happy to make the effort to go down the ground and protest! And i am not sticking up for the board, i just dont think hundreds of angry blokes outside the changing rooms is going to get this team playing well and lets be honest why would people like Sharp sign for us. When anything happens that people like you dont like, there is a protest!Try getting behind the 11 blokes on the pitch
In Dubious Battle 0 Posted June 29, 2007 We got 3.5 million + whatever was in the kitty before, which must be around 2 million as that''s what we bid for sharp that makes a transfer kitty of 5.5 million if grant actually gets this money to spend on the squad i think it will be a good thing. We''ve just signed cureton + 2 million on a quality replacement for earnie + 3.5 million for another 3/4 players a goalkeeper, centre back and a midfielder? I will reserve judgement for now but I expect to see this money spent on the team if it isn''t i will have to conclude that my support for the board that has slowly been ebbing away over recent years will be gone and i will therefore be supporting any demonstrations against the board. Being in agreement with cluck & smudger is a bit of a scary prospect though.......

Bovril 264 Posted June 29, 2007 to be fair im normally an optimist regarding norwich but after todays affairs its an absolutely joke... yes partly the 3.5mill was possibly out of their hands as i would agree he probably wouldnt have came here if it wasnt inserted but to go and sign a one-season wonder (which was mainly due to an outstanding partnership with iwelumo which we wont have) at the age of 32 when the season gets started is absolutely bonkers... if we dont sign marshall and eastwood something needs to be done
burn down the ipswich 0 Posted June 29, 2007 I''m sorry, i have always been a supporter of the delia era but come on, what ambition is there in having a minimum price in a contract. i''m sure people will be pleased to know i''ve seen the light, or maybe not, and i want the person responsible out!!!! It was Earnshaw who put it in the contract, not Norwich, how stupid do you think they are? And just cause we haven''t already signed his replacement, you shouldn''t go off on a crazed rant or does the transfer window close tomorrow. So many people on this forum as drama-queens, just cause we lose Earnshaw, you think the world is gonna end, well i hate to say this but who cares that Earny left. I don''t and neither do others can they can see the bigger picture. I''d much rather Earnshaw leave to allow Grant to bring in other players and don''t say he''ll bring in shit cause he won''t. Cureton, Ostember and Gilks all point in the right direction....the premiership. So if you want to moan, moan when the transfer window closes cause all of us has no idea what Norwich are gonna do who they are going to pull out of the hat.If Eastwood came in tomorrow, i bet most of you would change your tone of voice and praise the board for their vision. My point is, don''t moan until you know the full picture and the full picture won''t be painted until the first day of the season!

Huddy 0 Posted June 29, 2007 Or perhaps, just perhaps, the only way earnshaw would come would be if we allowed him the clause, so that he disnt get stuck in the championship, if NCFC (as has happene) went backwards. The clause gave him an escape route back to the prem.
