paddycanary 579 Posted September 4 There may well be a few riot police in the vicinity. I had ringside seats in the old Lansdowne Road South Terrace when a load of England fans tore the place to shít back in 95 I think. Jack Charlton was none too impressed.
Capt. Pants 5,007 Posted September 5 The match is in Dublin, not Wembley as the OP suggests. You never know what will happen with England fans.
duke63 739 Posted September 5 Is anybody interested in these pointless international matches? Complete waste of time IMHO.

A Load of Squit 6,260 Posted September 5 Lee Carsley played 40 times for the ROI, I'm sure he'll feel at home in Dublin.

Can Carsley get England to play in the same expansive and sexy style like his predecessor Southgate did?

Football bleeding its fans dry again. Just been reading about Aston Villa's pricing for the Champions League games - cheapest ticket is £85!!! Their fans are rightly not happy. Football is no longer a live fans event, it's a TV programme. Edited September 5 by duke63

England fans only in the sense of “fanatics from England”.. as they definitely had no interest in either football or supporting our team. Even debatable if they were truly fans of their own country... as with most self-styled ‘patriots’ they brought further shame and detriment on us compounding the history of colonialism … no pride. Anyway since (patriotically!) they’re both my countries, hope it’s a draw!

Go the Oasis way and bring in dynamic pricing.
duke63 739 Posted September 5 Yep dynamic pricing should work both ways. No one wants to go? Let’s sell them for £5 each.
Capt. Pants 5,007 Posted September 5 Yet when Norwich sold cheap tickets for Stevenage the ground was still half empty. Sometimes people have better things to do, sometimes we'll pay over the odds.

I usually go to cup games but gave this one a miss.

Or at least start at a £5, then increase so as not to **** off people who bought at lower prices. First 1,000 at £5, increase by £1 for each 1,000 sold after. They get more than enough TV money to cover any risk with that.
duke63 739 Posted September 5 Ticket sales on the gate are irrelevant in the EPL due to TV monies but it doesn’t stop clubs fleecing their live spectators. England seems no different. Hopefully people vote with their feet and Wembley is half empty.
A Load of Squit 6,260 Posted September 7 So, is Carsley singing the anthem important? Will it taint the result? What if we won the World Cup and the Manager didn't sing the anthem, would you give it back?

Agreed, but probably not best he sings the Irish anthem instead though! I don't think I'm that bothered about the nationality of the next England manager.

Weren't his adoptive Grandparents irish or something equally tenuous that qualified him. He was never gonna play for Italy or England anyway.
