Ness Point Runner 21 Posted January 5 I am a Season Ticket holder of a certain age who lives 2 hours away from the ground. I find that I can only make matches that are during the day because of having to rely on public transport. This means that I have to miss all evening games. Of course I used to go to every game. But that no longer applies. I am sure other supporters also miss some games due holidays, family events, illness etc. In recent weeks there are gaps in the stands around for all to see. I just wonder how many matches the average Season Ticket holder does actually get to. This is mainly prompted by a bloke I met in the pub over Christmas who claimed that he had two season tickets (for himself and his boy) but he had not used them for two or three years. Just kept up the standing order really to show support for the Club. So, how many games do season ticket holders actually get to ? All the games All bar a few Most Some None
CaptCanary 72 Posted January 5 Fortunately (or unfortunately, depending which you look at it in recent seasons), I'm usually able to attend every match, and try to plan holidays around international breaks once the fixtures are released. A colleague holds a season ticket at Brentford. They have a policy where if you miss 4 games, without attempting to resell via the club, then you lose the right to automatically renew your season ticket. https://www.brentfordfc.com/en/new-policy-for-season-tickets

Should be rules against it. If his season ticket is in the City Stand he should be put in the stocks, as the TV camera picks those up and makes us look tinpot.

I like that policy, assuming they are pragmatic with proof of health issues etc. 4 is a bit harsh though.

S_81 1,101 Posted January 5 Personally I don’t believe that someone would buy a season ticket and not go at all that season. Discounting major health issues or a relocation.

It’s because their ground is so relatively small for a premier league club. It’s not overly harsh as all you have to do is put your ticket onto the clubs buyback system, you are allowed to miss more than 4 games!

Capt. Pants 5,008 Posted January 5 I have been a ST holder for coming on 20 years. If Norwich are at home in a league game I go to the football it's as simple as that. I'm somewhere between option 1 and 2.

I thought that our really high demand was the justification for charging the highest prices in the Championship. Now we're saying that we should be grateful for flogging empty seats to keep the numbers up. On a 37 hour working week by the way, one season ticket pays for 37 minutes of Ben Gibson's purported wages for a single week, or 43 seconds of his purported weekly wages per week for a year. Just so we can put into context the significance of a single seat hogger who doesn't go to games. Where would you draw the line then, how about LiveFootballTickets buying up 3000 season tickets then flogging them for £120 a game when we're in the Prem? That's a reality at the big clubs. All the games All bar a few Most Some None So I used to have a season ticket and then took up a job which has me working nights and weekends. I kept my season ticket for the first season. I counted up how many games I went to and worked out it made more sense financially to just buy ad hoc tickets. I suspect it's because we're playing so poorly at the moment but with a membership I've never had a problem getting a ticket.
