Funding knapper for January

Was it mentioned how this would be achieved? I’ve seen some reference to third party funding. Would that be along the lines of that lot down the road ??

We have no money, we are in debt and only really have two or three players worth millions to sell.

So I think we best not expect any expensive incomings of any kind this January..

Who's buying Idah for millions? How many goals in five years again?

Bit optomistic in valuing the listed six in millions.  Worth nothing if they see out contracts.  Sargent in third year how long is current contract? maybe 4 possibly 5, until he returns from injury and scores plenty will not attract interest certainly not PL therefore no millions, no millions in EFL.

I feel Idah is one they have really dropped the ball on. The last two seasons he should of spent on loan. the first at a league one club and just been allowed to play every week and score goals like we did with Godfrey and Morris at Shrewsbury then the next at a lower level championship club. Then he could have came back here full of confidence and experience ready to hit the ground running. He’s now just ended up with a stop start career so far who’s never got confidence up and running or been able to develop.

The debt situation has been addressed by Mark A numerous times now. It is not a significant issue and if opportunities are there, money will be found. We were never going to get expensive incomings, doesn't mean we won't get someone who can make a difference.

We are going to lower the age of the squad so let's sell a young one. Idah won't go anywhere soon. I applaud the fact Knapper wants to lower the age of the squad. He could start by making sure Warner starts ahead of Duffy. There are others in the u21s who we chased who can step up in the future. The sooner we can ensure safety the quicker we can look at these young players for next season. As an aside where has Ogweru gone ?

No one is paying millions for Idah or McLean. Maybe a million, million and a half, but certainly not plural.

Charlton bought an experienced League 1 goalscorer in Alfie May this season for £250k, who has scored 14 in 17 games.

So maybe with Idah you start at £1m and take away the noughts?

idah is at least 4 based on current Market conditions, contract length, age, champ goals, international - people do him a disservice

Big difference to a lower end league one 30 year old striker in his final year of his contract to a young international prospect scoring goals at championship level

The truth is we are stuck with most of the older players, we offered longish deals despite their age, its how we landed them (forget the stuff about how good our swimming pool is).  We didnt rebuild in the summer and to do it now is near impossible, unless we sell Sara for very big money.  I dont see MA investing that much more, he already has huge debts from thr Club.

Well the simple answer is 'don't start him'. Leave Barnes, Sargent and Hwang to give them the run around, then bring Idah off the bench. He wouldn't be the first striker in history to be a super-sub.

You two honestly think Idah will be happy being a 5 year super sub? 

There's obviously a player in there, we need to work out how to improve him so he can perform over 90 minutes, you say "if it ain't broke', well it is if it only works part of the time surely?

I think a certain amount of patience is required with a player who you quite rightly say ‘there’s something there’

it ain’t broke now as it’s working but that’s not to say we can’t work towards a more permanent fixture in our starting line up
